Hey, BTW, what are the oddsmakers in LV saying about the odds of Pierre mentioning where Dominic Moore went to college is?

    2:5? 1:9?

  2. Matty"DidYouKNowDominicMooreWentToHarvard??"Boy on

Personally, I’m tired of all the huge contracts. How many of those ‘fat cats’ really work out?

  3. eddie/Robby: The stare upon the Banff pot in-use of a light schwantz dangle is equal to the rum on the stairs of the too complacent rides.

  4. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Kooz – trust me re: that earlier conversation…one of us was correct and it wasn’t Robbie.

  5. Norm Merton on

Loving all the gloom and doom here the last 24 hours — typical Rangers this, typical Rangers that. Typical Rangers don’t lose OT games in the Stanley Cup finals. Typical Rangers are on the 19th hole in April.

  6. Admiral Akbar on

    Atta boy, Norm!

    You’re right.

There essentially should be NO LEDGE this series, as the Rangers are playing with house money, since the Flyers series, right?

If they lose, all we can hope for is that Sather can hold on to the right players (Boyle, Moore, Stralman, Zucc, esp.) and can tweak some things that need tweaking (Wilbur’s contract, size, point man on pp, etc.)

Hopefully the boys will leave this with a greater desire to get back to the finals and win next year. This is a huge learning experience for them.

  7. And still not a shred of evidence that this team has been intimidated even once in 103 games.

Outhit, outplayed, outskated at times & will be outhit in this series — shocker! — but it isn’t intimidated or demoralized. That’s silly.

  8. I would never question eddie’s math or Carp’s all- encompassing Ranger opinion. I offer only nuance and conversational conjecture.

  9. Stranger Nation on

Maybe as an offday distraction Carp should repost one of the post game doom and gloom from the first road trip.

What a long strange trip its been…

  10. Admiral, Playing with house money?

    Far from it.

Man, I hope the players and coaches don’t approach it as such.

Carp – we are at Pismo beach. About 3 hours north of you. Little family escape from the grueling semester. Slight chance I might be your way come game 5. So you’re by LAX. Staying at the windham hotel? I’ve played some big chess tournaments at that fine locale.

If I make it down, we’ll go out for some killer seafood….

  12. Richie Cunningham: “Fonzie, nothing happened. We played chess”

Fonzie: “what? You played with her chess?!”

  13. Stranger Nation on

Staal and Nash are the wild cards. 2 big guys who have been very inconsistent since they got smacked in the squash.
Need both to play well, especially Stalled

Papa – Norris had two of my favorite plays last game. That hit on Clifford was textbook

  14. Strange, I don’t know how Nash can watch game film and feel GOOD about himself and his effort, but who am I, just a simple fan, to judge the GOOD One.

Some guys leave it all on the ice….others don’t BRUNGED it to the ice.

  15. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Papa – even more confounding is why hasn’t AV pulled Gnash aside and mentioned that going to the dirty areas is where the action is….whacks on the back and slashes to the ankles aren’t that painful…

  16. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Have there been many instances where someone has gotten concussed banging in the crease? It’s usually along the boards, or in open ice after a play has been made….attacking the net is not going to hurt the noodle…

  17. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Snation – everybody want to go to the game on Saturday. Everybody want to see the rangers win. Everybody want Brassard to score the GWG. Everybody want Hank to make that save. What we need, what we need, what we need is…….solidarity.

  18. What I don’t get is how that big oaf Nash gets all the recriminations while the totally useless Richie Rich is almost unanimously touted by most boneheads and the children of the Press as “de-facto Captain.” Riddle me that.

  19. Carp’s comment in the chat today was spot on:

“You watch where Gaborik or Kopitar or Williams or Carter go when they don’t have the puck … always to places on the ice where if they get it they can shoot it. Nash goes away from those spots.”

  20. If we are in shape to play three periods like we did the first, we can toast these Hollywood fakers.

  21. Eddie, If the guy lost his nerve due to head trama…maybe he should hang them up?

I think he had little nerve to start with.

But, I’m still rooting for him to come through. Rooting for him, big time.

Ricardo / if the rangers are staying in Santa Monica – see you if you can sneak off to Louis B Mayer’s old house at 625 Palisades Beach Road. It faces highway 1 (pacific coast highway) to the front and the ocean to the back. Peter Lawford owned it later and that’s where JFK was shagging Marilyn Monroe – and later during John Lennon’s lost weekend in CA, he rented it and it’s where the last known photograph was taken of John and Paul together. It’s a beautiful place not far from the Santa Monica pier. If you can rent a car, head up into the hills above UCLA and check out Benedict Canyon – go visit the Manson murder house at 10050 Cielo Drive (now 10066).

  23. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Papa – NyR fan – no doubt Gnasher needs to start getting to the net…that’s where goals are scored this time of year.

Kooz – Richards is a lost cause. Attacking him for poor play is like beating up an eight year old kid….best to just let it go and pray for slats to buy him out. In his presser on Tuesday he certainly intimated that he’d be bought out. To watch #19 labor on the ice requires only 20-20 corrected vision. Not much else is needed.

  24. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Kooz / I’ve been to the house Sharon Tate was living in when Manson’s peeps went crazy on her and the others….still a very spooky vibe. I know it’s weird, but I love checking out such Macabre haunts

  25. Cannot believe there’s a hefty fee to visit THE WTC Museum. Bastards even have a GIFT SHOP!

  26. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Kooz – totally agree. There is an energy field surrounding everything..some places have positive energy…and others, well, not so positive.

I love the Hollywood hills. Great history…especially the Canyons…

  27. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

I was down to the WTC site my last trip back to NYC. Very spooky vibe. Incredibly sad. Still don’t quite understand how WTC 7 came down so fast after never being hit by a plane.

  28. 2003 NHL Draft

11 Jeff Carter (Center) Philadelphia Flyers
12 Hugh Jessiman (Right Wing) New York Rangers
13 Dustin Brown (Right Wing) LA Kings

24 Mike Richards (Center) Philadelphia Flyers

26 Brian Boyle (Center) LA Kings

  29. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Jessiman was a steal at 12. He should have gone # 1 overall. Then we’d have had a legitimate stud who’d still be playing for us…

  30. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Can the ranger team be kept intact save a swap of Richards for a Stasny or Dubi?

  31. Ria( the silent bonehead) on

Coos I agree with your 1:07 a.m. they should be ashamed of themselves. No one should buy anything there. TASTELESS if you ask me.

  32. Za'rat (TheOtherGuysGreed) Jones on

Ill never understand how anyone could care more about actually winning one series than the amazing 102 other games. It’s been 74 years and we’ve won once since 1940. If winning is so important, why pick the Rangers? Go cheer for Detroit, Pittsburgh, or even Los Angeles. Even if they win, we are still more important. We have the most fans. We are one of the biggest families in sports.

The cup is just an added bonus. Throughout history, we’ve had the hottest men! That’s so much rmore important in the grand scheme of things.
