I think the fact Hartley got fined at all is ridiculous!

Torts puts his 4th line out to counter other teams 4th line then loses it due to the fights???…torts is an idiot in this case.

I would have also deployed my 4th line like torts did, difference is I would have told Hartley “we can do this all night if you want” instead of freaking out about the subsequent fights.

  2. Except the Canucks are a real hockey team looking to win hockey games and Calgary is a rudderless disaster where 2 points and 0 points mean about the same thing.

IMO that still doesn’t matter, torts was a buffoon in this instance and Hartley did deserve a fine at all.

  4. Ah the New Rochelle Lightning. I broke my collar bone playing them at Rye Playland in the early 90s, bantam league championship game.

  5. Today reminds me of that game in February, 1969 that George Grimm wrote about recently on Retro Rangers when Giacomin, Ratelle and Larry Jeffrey were stuck on the train because of the snow. Emile Francis signed himself & dressed as the backup to backup goalie Don Simmons.

Musky & Torts is to Jekyll & Hyde
The evil Musky once again showed his uncontrollable rage driven by Napoleonic feelings of inadequacy and transitions from dog loving family man to screaming lunatic hockey coach.

McD and Step were in Mamo Chase Branch last week just outside ‘The Hommocks’ and the line went all the way around the bank.

Didn’t think New Ro used HMX for their rink. They lost their home rink when New Roc City turned it into a Gym or something or other. that was a great rink too, bright and great sight lines.

  8. New ro doesn’t use this for our home rink. We typically play at ebersole or the hutch. The little guys practice in Connecticut (learn to play and mites). We just got our bantams up and running again CTBlueshirt. Losing that rink at new roc really hurt the program. But I’m happy to say membership is growing and our squirts and peewees are doing great. We actually have enough for two mite teams. Mamaroneck still uses the Hommocks. For example three squirt, and three mite and two pee wee and bantams, compared to us.

    Seth Rothman @RothmanHockey
#Rangers have signed David Leneveu to back-up tonight. He had previously been on a minor-league contract with Hartford (AHL).

If Torts got 15, Sullivan should get 10. If for no other reason, for what he did to our PP and what he is doing to Vancouver’s!!

Hysterical Matty. I like your new slogan. It sure has been fun to watch. Let’s keep it going.

I wonder if that idiot fan blog guy will say anything about being *wrong* about who backup goalie is.

It would have been cool if it was that Chris Testa guy. Played goalie at a division III college. Plays adult league games now. It would have been the coolest thing that ever happened to him.

  13. I do not have a favorite Islander, just different levels of hatred for each and every one of them.
the picture from the previous post of Bobby Sheehan, somebody asked who the 3rd member of the line was to go with Hickey. it was none other than Ron Duguay.

  14. What was the name of the former Manhattanville College goalie who signed that one-day contract with the Coyotes and backed up at MSG a couple seasons back?
