Just need to start using it as a hashtag on twitter.
It’s kind of annoying that I like Carcillo’s comments. He’s intelligent as well as being a company guy.
I like when he says there was a “lull” in Chicago… Lol.
Hey Carp: do you get the impression that what brassard is saying is true? That the team was excited to get Carcillo and that they like his spark? Is that real?
They badly needed someone with a bit of snarl when Dors went down.
What if we get ‘The Carp’ an imaginary jersey that he could don when eating his imaginary Walter’s hot dogs? This way, when the imaginary mustard falls on it, it will all be imaginary.
The Carcillo is playing well. Hopefully, the Haters will appreciate what he’s doing and respect the fact that he’s wearing broadway blue….
Those imaginary Walter’s Hot Dogs the imaginary Eric imaginarily owes me?
Imagine that! :)
No idea, Manny. I think he tries to say the right thing. He might be being honest about it. He has no history with Carcillo, so he probably welcomes him. A lot of guys probably do.
Good to know. Thanks, Carp.
Seems to me that Carcillo’s chirping got a few of the opposition focusing on him rather than their game. That’s a win.
Buckly with 8+ Mins on PP and an quasi-assist on Kreider goal
Does he REALLY need to be out there the whole time. His entry plays are horrible. Enough already.
Just like the PP started to click when we moved the 3rd line to the 1st unit – time to move the 3rd pairing to the 2nd PP unit. Put J Moore on pt – kid has the best shot on team from point.
I totally disagree. Richards is a main reason the PP has been so good, IMO.
The Brassard had a great game.
Carp – the entire PP unit is good. Richards is part of it. I think Zucchini and Brassard are the main reasons as to why it’s working…
Eric can solve world hunger if he pays off…
McD, Zucc, Brass, Pullout, Richards, Kreider (in that order) have been their best PP player since it started clicking.
Fact is he doesn’t need to be playing point for the entire 2 mins
Richie still has value inside the blue line. The other 3/4 of the ice, he is completely and totally useless, moreso than any NHL player past or present that I can think of, and there have been plenty of floaters to chose from (IMO).
Those cute little plays run from zucchini to Brassard to Pouliot or a permutation of same…
Agree. It took off when AV realized 67-16-36 were the first unit. But Richards has been really good on the point and with entries. He’s a big part of it. Brassard was dynamic at even strength tonight, too.
Richards loves to just throwaway the puck to anyone and anywhere when space and time are limited….not good
Exactamente, e3. This, too, is often MDZ’s problemo when pressed. He might be improving, or it might be a short-lived mirage.
The fact of the matter is that 16, 19, 36, 27, and 67 are as good a 5-4 in the NHL right now…
Agree kooz – 19 and 4 are averse to getting hit….4 doesn’t mind initiating. But he clearly prefers pitching to catching….Alydar, neither…
Still think Torts made a large mistake not using #27 on PP. Only justification might be he didn’t know if he would break down late with all the minutes he produces. And he is always needed late.
Ex3 – for a pitcher, he certainly turns his back to the on coming checker like a catcher
Waiting for Pierre to say to Bettman, “Go back to your office and have fun.”
SNation -,he is bottom pair. Solidarity…
If McD played on PP with Torts, he may have hit 36 mins per game
Ex# – that Brass goal was a goal scorers goal. Can’t see Step doing that…
Torts wasn’t such a good judge of talent…
Sky’s the limit for THE – he looks like a 30-30 player with over 100 hits -wow!!
Brassard is the least respected player on this blob and I’m at a total loss as to explain why….the Carcillo hate equally mystifying…
THE loves the Big Apple: 19 of 25 pts at home incl. 7 of 11 goals
The will score 40 next year…
They put on the blue-shirt and you root for the laundry. The goal was awesome. Both he and Olive Boil were on top of the crease
Brassard must be resigned…
The Rangers haven’t had as good as agitator as Carcillo since Avery. I’m glad he’s on the team. What he brought tonight was great. I might change my tune if he becomes a cheap shot artist, but for now no problems at all
Absolutely shocked that Manny said he was rooting for Simmonds to pound Carcillo. Shocked, I say.
Carcillo hate reminds me of all the Avery hate….never understood that either…
Carcillo needs a new twitter handle though
“Guess Fatso there, just forgot to shake my hand.”
Manny was either being a contrarian or a tool. You decide. I sense the latter but I’d like to be wrong…
Anyone not rooting for Carcillo isn’t a Ranger fan. Fact.
Mannu sometimes spouts off the cuff in the heat of the moment, then has second thoughts and expresses them. I give him credit for that.
Rob – agreed
No doubt that this team is orders of magnitude better coached than the previous administration.
Dog Carcillo just doesn’t sound quite right. He should change his last name to Calloric so we can try to forget what his name has meant around here.
This has been a great 5 games…
Torts was a nervous little gunslinger that you had to keep your eye on if he walked into the saloon. AV seems more like the cowboy who would charm you, then hit you over the head with a bottle of hootch while still smiling.
Zucchini and Brassard are a monster 1-2 combo.. Love their skill set…
So glad torts is gone. Imagine the pp this year if he were around…
Who would have believed that those 2 and Pullout would lead the way? Brass was expected, but MZA and Pullout teamed with him is the happy enigma.
Kooz – those three, 16,36,67 play some real cute tic tac toe plays with the finally being a tip in on goal…
The point in case : the college educated bloggers should never stoop to equating a real names of the “hated players” with commonly used expletives.
I know, it is just all good clean fun, but you’all still missed “Bertuzzi”.
Brassard has been great the past two weeks, and especially tonight. He was mostly invisible the first 30 games. Some blamed it on playing with Pouliot. Obviously, that wasn’t the issue.
Nobody hates him. Just need to inject some reality, like he has never broken 50 points. Hope he continues and does it this year.
Stepan has stunk most of this year. I still don’t know why anyone would want to trade a 23 year old who is under team control and has produced.
Gravy – note that 67 has been much better,..in a sense he was playing with Ben P, and now a different Ben P. Add Zuc who was with Step and THE, and it’s a dangerous line.
Newbear – I don’t use expletive so much as names of great 3 year olds…
Brassard is warming up. Wait till the playoffs….you heard it here first…
The Step, MZA, THE line played well too, but these lines have worked better. If Step finds his game consistently, this offense has potential. Cally isn’t even on the PP anymore.
Brassard’s goal rivals any of Gabby’s goal. Any Gabby Goal that was one fast and hard blast…Boon
Poo has been much better. Brassard has had stretches like this and then disappears, like Anisimov used to. I hope it doesn’t happen, but that’s been the history.
E3 said fast and hard.
36, 16, and 67 play tic tac toe on the PP as well as any top PP unit in the league. Exaggeration? I dare say not.
Gravy said poo
That was a goal scorers goal. He’s still on pace for 15.
They are exquisite.
Brassard has exquisite hands and a sweet touch. Holds the puck better than any player on the team….so patient with it.
I love this PP almost as much as my PP.
Gravy – Brassard’s production isn’t linear.. I’m betting more exponential with a dash of logarithmic..He’s on fire…
My Detroit Piston was pounding earlier ;)
Sign me up for 20-40-60.
Working double time on the production line?
Gravy – That’s not a bad guess…come April, round 1, clean slate, it’ll continue…
Like a jack hammer in a pothole…
Zuc and Brassard hare a joy to watch. Ben P has stepped it up physically.
Gravy – E. Kane might be available. Step and someone. Then miller slides into center…
He’ll have to go 12-23 the rest of the way. Doable.
I’d trade Stepan for Kane depending on what the other parts are. Step and MotZ for Kane, bring up Miller and Allen?
They wouldn’t trade Stepan for Nash so not sure they’d move him for Kane.
I bet 22-43-65 on the year. Especially if his pp time is extended…step shouldn’t see the ice for those 2 minutes…let brassard go it even if AV has to burn a time out…
I wouldn’t trade Stepan for Kanye.
Your 2:10 is brilliant. The whole post…
Allen, the terminator, Connor …...aka Sarah
I’m not sure it works cap wise.
Kanye east perhaps….no Horace Greeley tho…
(Looks around, mentally measures up the room)
“I’ll be back”
I pay no mind to salary cap….they are hockey cards in my world ;)
Hank is back. Think there’s a chance of a 10-12 game run? I do. This team is dangerous. Can they beat the pens or Boston? Probably night. But it’s coming…
Sather to Kane: come east, young man.
...and run like a thief….
This team will win no less than 20 straight with THE scoring 51 in honor of Tyutin.
They’re on a bit of a run now. The inconsistent play is within periods rather than whole games. Possible they knock off something like 7 or 8 of 10.
Honestly, when this team is firing on all cylinders, aren’t they fun to watch? I don’t miss chip off the wall, torts style of offense….AV is a damn good coach…
The jury is still out. Bigger sample size with Torts, but I agree it’s fun now that they’re getting better on the defensive side. And if Hank is back, look out.
And that poor play is at most 3 shifts consecutively given every game since pens….they hawks were coming on and the rangers didn’t blink…
I like that they’re not sitting on leads either. Still attacking when the opportunities are there.
It took half the season, but it’s looks to be game on. I like this team – and if they continue to play 60 minutes, avoid further injury, and make at least one move that brings in grit…BANG
And rolling 4 lines all game…
Boyle – Moore – Carcillo a good 4th line defensively and they’ve been potting goals in the last 5 or 6 games…
Got get a solid four hours. Catch you on the flip side. When you’re done on the can. :)
Everyone needs to be POZY
Werd up yo
Let’s go ranger. Ciao Gravy
The third round of Tata Steel, aka, Wiik an Zee starts 4:39 my time. Nakamura is playing Boris Gelfand….should be a great game…
4:30….I’ll get 5 hours myself…
time to watch period 1 again… and the football game.
thats a goal…idiots
