  1. It’s kind of annoying that I like Carcillo’s comments. He’s intelligent as well as being a company guy.

I like when he says there was a “lull” in Chicago… Lol.

  2. Hey Pimp: you like that it says “Cookie Policy” below each audio clip? That sounds up your alley.

  3. Hey Carp: do you get the impression that what brassard is saying is true? That the team was excited to get Carcillo and that they like his spark? Is that real?

  4. What if we get ‘The Carp’ an imaginary jersey that he could don when eating his imaginary Walter’s hot dogs? This way, when the imaginary mustard falls on it, it will all be imaginary.

The Carcillo is playing well. Hopefully, the Haters will appreciate what he’s doing and respect the fact that he’s wearing broadway blue….

  6. No idea, Manny. I think he tries to say the right thing. He might be being honest about it. He has no history with Carcillo, so he probably welcomes him. A lot of guys probably do.

  7. Seems to me that Carcillo’s chirping got a few of the opposition focusing on him rather than their game. That’s a win.

  8. Stranger Nation on

Buckly with 8+ Mins on PP and an quasi-assist on Kreider goal

Does he REALLY need to be out there the whole time. His entry plays are horrible. Enough already.

Just like the PP started to click when we moved the 3rd line to the 1st unit – time to move the 3rd pairing to the 2nd PP unit. Put J Moore on pt – kid has the best shot on team from point.

  9. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Carp – the entire PP unit is good. Richards is part of it. I think Zucchini and Brassard are the main reasons as to why it’s working…

  10. Stranger Nation on

McD, Zucc, Brass, Pullout, Richards, Kreider (in that order) have been their best PP player since it started clicking.

Fact is he doesn’t need to be playing point for the entire 2 mins

  11. Richie still has value inside the blue line. The other 3/4 of the ice, he is completely and totally useless, moreso than any NHL player past or present that I can think of, and there have been plenty of floaters to chose from (IMO).

  12. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Those cute little plays run from zucchini to Brassard to Pouliot or a permutation of same…

  13. Agree. It took off when AV realized 67-16-36 were the first unit. But Richards has been really good on the point and with entries. He’s a big part of it. Brassard was dynamic at even strength tonight, too.

  14. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Richards loves to just throwaway the puck to anyone and anywhere when space and time are limited….not good

  15. Exactamente, e3. This, too, is often MDZ’s problemo when pressed. He might be improving, or it might be a short-lived mirage.

  16. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

The fact of the matter is that 16, 19, 36, 27, and 67 are as good a 5-4 in the NHL right now…

    Book it

  17. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Agree kooz – 19 and 4 are averse to getting hit….4 doesn’t mind initiating. But he clearly prefers pitching to catching….Alydar, neither…

  18. Still think Torts made a large mistake not using #27 on PP. Only justification might be he didn’t know if he would break down late with all the minutes he produces. And he is always needed late.

  19. Stranger Nation on

Ex3 – for a pitcher, he certainly turns his back to the on coming checker like a catcher

  20. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Brassard is the least respected player on this blob and I’m at a total loss as to explain why….the Carcillo hate equally mystifying…

  21. Stranger Nation on

They put on the blue-shirt and you root for the laundry. The goal was awesome. Both he and Olive Boil were on top of the crease

  22. Rob in Beantown on

The Rangers haven’t had as good as agitator as Carcillo since Avery. I’m glad he’s on the team. What he brought tonight was great. I might change my tune if he becomes a cheap shot artist, but for now no problems at all

  23. Absolutely shocked that Manny said he was rooting for Simmonds to pound Carcillo. Shocked, I say.

  24. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Manny was either being a contrarian or a tool. You decide. I sense the latter but I’d like to be wrong…

  25. Mannu sometimes spouts off the cuff in the heat of the moment, then has second thoughts and expresses them. I give him credit for that.

  26. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

No doubt that this team is orders of magnitude better coached than the previous administration.

  27. Dog Carcillo just doesn’t sound quite right. He should change his last name to Calloric so we can try to forget what his name has meant around here.

  28. Torts was a nervous little gunslinger that you had to keep your eye on if he walked into the saloon. AV seems more like the cowboy who would charm you, then hit you over the head with a bottle of hootch while still smiling.

  29. Who would have believed that those 2 and Pullout would lead the way? Brass was expected, but MZA and Pullout teamed with him is the happy enigma.

  30. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Kooz – those three, 16,36,67 play some real cute tic tac toe plays with the finally being a tip in on goal…

  31. The point in case : the college educated bloggers should never stoop to equating a real names of the “hated players” with commonly used expletives.

I know, it is just all good clean fun, but you’all still missed “Bertuzzi”.

  32. Brassard has been great the past two weeks, and especially tonight. He was mostly invisible the first 30 games. Some blamed it on playing with Pouliot. Obviously, that wasn’t the issue.

Nobody hates him. Just need to inject some reality, like he has never broken 50 points. Hope he continues and does it this year.

  33. Stepan has stunk most of this year. I still don’t know why anyone would want to trade a 23 year old who is under team control and has produced.

  34. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Gravy – note that 67 has been much better,..in a sense he was playing with Ben P, and now a different Ben P. Add Zuc who was with Step and THE, and it’s a dangerous line.

  35. The Step, MZA, THE line played well too, but these lines have worked better. If Step finds his game consistently, this offense has potential. Cally isn’t even on the PP anymore.

  36. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Brassard’s goal rivals any of Gabby’s goal. *Any Gabby Goal* that was one fast and hard blast…*Boon*

  37. Poo has been much better. Brassard has had stretches like this and then disappears, like Anisimov used to. I hope it doesn’t happen, but that’s been the history.

  38. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

36, 16, and 67 play tic tac toe on the PP as well as any top PP unit in the league. Exaggeration? I dare say not.

  39. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Brassard has exquisite hands and a sweet touch. Holds the puck better than any player on the team….so patient with it.

  40. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

    Gravy – Brassard’s production isn’t linear.. I’m betting more exponential with a dash of logarithmic..He’s on fire…

  41. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

    Gravy – That’s not a bad guess…come April, round 1, clean slate, it’ll continue…

  42. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Zuc and Brassard hare a joy to watch. Ben P has stepped it up physically.

Gravy – E. Kane might be available. Step and someone. Then miller slides into center…

  43. I’d trade Stepan for Kane depending on what the other parts are. Step and MotZ for Kane, bring up Miller and Allen?

  44. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

I bet 22-43-65 on the year. Especially if his pp time is extended…step shouldn’t see the ice for those 2 minutes…let brassard go it even if AV has to burn a time out…

  45. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Hank is back. Think there’s a chance of a 10-12 game run? I do. This team is dangerous. Can they beat the pens or Boston? Probably night. But it’s coming…

  46. They’re on a bit of a run now. The inconsistent play is within periods rather than whole games. Possible they knock off something like 7 or 8 of 10.

  47. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Honestly, when this team is firing on all cylinders, aren’t they fun to watch? I don’t miss chip off the wall, torts style of offense….AV is a damn good coach…

  48. The jury is still out. Bigger sample size with Torts, but I agree it’s fun now that they’re getting better on the defensive side. And if Hank is back, look out.

  49. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

And that poor play is at most 3 shifts consecutively given every game since pens….they hawks were coming on and the rangers didn’t blink…

  50. I like that they’re not sitting on leads either. Still attacking when the opportunities are there.

  51. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

It took half the season, but it’s looks to be game on. I like this team – and if they continue to play 60 minutes, avoid further injury, and make at least one move that brings in grit…BANG

  52. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Boyle – Moore – Carcillo a good 4th line defensively and they’ve been potting goals in the last 5 or 6 games…

  53. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

The third round of Tata Steel, aka, Wiik an Zee starts 4:39 my time. Nakamura is playing Boris Gelfand….should be a great game…
