It’s Go Time! … Flames at Rangers

[polldaddy poll=7648651 align="left"]
Game 34.flames
Flames at Rangers.

Ya boys have lost four in a row to start this nine-game homestand and have lost eight of their last nine at home overall. They have gotten worse with each passing game, IMO.

They have given up four goals in all four games on the homestand.

Alain Vigneault decided to dress seven defensemen tonight, based on Calgary’s lineup … Both Dylan McIlrath and Justin Falk will play.

Arron Asham and Taylor Pyatt are pruchad. Derick Brassard returns to the lineup from his posterior injury. Marc Staal (concussion) and Ryan Callahan (MCL) remain out.

Henrik Lundqvist starts his sixth in a row in goal.

Don’t forget to vote for the Three Rangers Stars in the poll on the left.

  1. @RothmanHockey: #Rangers lines: Kreider-Stepan-Nash // Brassard-Richards-Zuccarello // Pouliot-D. Moore-Dorsett // Hagelin-Boyle-Asham

What a joke. Fire this *clown*

  2. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Some changes are necessary re : the G men. When I can sit on my couch and predict what Kilbride is going to call, I imagine every DC in the league can as well. I love the Giants’ shotgun draw (s)

  3. I think our roster is flawed and our prospects in the pipeline are mostly flawed and nothing to get excited about.

We need players will work hard every shift, and play physical and be able to fight. Our bottom 2 lines are too weak. They need to be more intimidating.

And biggest problem with Tortorella’s system hasn’t yet been fixed by AV is that the Dmen keep chipping the pucks off the boards for some stupid reason especially on backhands instead of skating the puck out or making a direct pass. They most of the time get intercepted even before they cross the blue line.

  4. Everyone knows how much I love this idea always.

@PLeonardNYDN: Vigneault IS playing seven defensemen tonight, including both Falk and McIlrath. Asham and Pyatt are healthy scratches #NYR

  5. “Coughlin’s track record is shoddy but for 2 four game playoff runs….” ?????? – (Kenneth)

That’s just about the most stupid, uniformed thing that I’ve read here in years. Sorry for the brutal honesty.

  6. Retire Brad Park's #2 on

iManny – looks like we have two fourth lines tonight. Great! We can kill penalties in parallel universes.

Take a look at his career coaching record. He won two Super Bowls, so that makes him a great coach in your estimation, right?

Mike Keenan won a Stanley Cup. He must be pretty good coach, right?

  8. The winning of this game will just give us the hope of find in this draught little puddle of water instead of sea of tears.

  9. Kenneth at clinchers of '89Flames '94Rangers '96Avs on

By career coaching record, I mean season results, not win-loss record.

  10. Kenneth at clinchers of '89Flames '94Rangers '96Avs on

Mike Shanahan is a great coach. He won two Super Bowls. Yet the Redskin can’t wait to be rid of him. He won two Super Bowls. He must be great, right?

  11. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Kooz -get rid of Kill drive’s son, their WR coach, and PF, and their ST coach…. But if coughlin stays, they all stay….blind loyalty….I’d fire the whole staff….their time has come and gone and hire Spags

  12. Kenneth at clinchers of '89Flames '94Rangers '96Avs on

_But if coughlin stays, they all stay….blind loyalty….I’d fire the whole staff_

    Speak on, my brutha.

  13. If Mara decides Coughlin is not in his plans, so be it. But to say he’s had a mediocre career is ludicrous.

  14. Pouliot didn’t get hurt on the play, so not worth looking into. As if potential injuries should factor in at all. Ridiculous.

  15. Kenneth at clinchers of '89Flames '94Rangers '96Avs on

_If Mara decides Coughlin is not in his plans, so be it. But to say he’s had a mediocre career is ludicrous._

His two Super Bowls make his career a very good, Hall of Fame career, but his career was marked by inconsistency. As EEE said, to hell with the blind loyalty, time for Gilbride and Fewell to go.

  16. Another great looping shift in the D Zone for Nash. Good thing the whistle blew. He was pushing 35 seconds of straight ice time.

  17. Unreal. Back kind gets behind everyone. Keep playing that diamond PK.

Good to see all that emotion from Vigneault there after the horrendous call. His cup runneth over. Not that he even wears a cup. He has no set to guard.

  18. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Major Tom had a great career. But too many late season collapses, too many missed playoffs, and and not enough recent success and it’s time to make some big moves. The giants coaching staff is stuck in a time warp.

Flames lead 1-0. Didn’t see that coming (s)

  19. Another shot off the post and in against the Rangers. How many times have we heard that sound this year? I don’t see a lot of games these days, so I wonder: what per cent of NHL goals are in off the iron these days?

  20. I think Capt. Lozenges wants them to play really short shifts so they can sprint into the zone and run a fast “up” offense. It’s not working.

  21. When I was a kid listening to the Rangers on the radio, I used to wonder: Why don’t we use the “power play” more often? The Canadiens used theirs all the time, it seemed, to great effect. So, yeah, let’s use ours more tonight.

  22. Lack of decisiveness in any move and action…Result of lost confidence or congenial deficiency/

  23. At least when players on other teams make mistakes I can usually figure out what they were trying to do or thinking about doing. With most NYR, I have no idea.

  24. One puck hits the post and in, another hits it and goes out. Hockey gods are evening things out?

  25. Man every team knows how to play nash. Gabrorik is so much more dynamic. These rangers don’t look like the care at all.

  26. Holy crap, Joe! Richards shooting a puck directly into someone’s leg/body/etc. is not them making a good play!

  27. Kenneth at clinchers of '89Flames '94Rangers '96Avs on

_Fugg is wrong with this guy?_

No more protection from systems and team defense.

  28. That’s yet another player falling down for no reason. Ice must be even worse than usual (actually, that’s probably status quo by now), as you said in the game preview Carp.

  29. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

While JoeM was a defenseman, he belongs on a line with Pidto and Troutwig, the Perv line

  30. This is epic.

So let’s say we lose tonight.

How in Zeus’ beard could nothing be done? There better be a dramatic change.

Fire the coach or trade half these clowns.

  31. GC = Ranger killer…pretty sure half his goals this season are vs NYR…and he’s in the western conf

    nice Step

  32. Call me a pessimist, but I am guessing 4-1 like the last few games. False hope. That all this squad has given us.

  33. Despite of this goal, Step suck. His all other attempts on goal just proved that it was accidental.

  34. Well, my “not going to be pretty” prediction from earlier is coming true so far. The other half of the prediction? We’ll see.

  35. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

4-ever – I agree re: Stepan. By the way, Nakamura beat Boris Gelfand in the final today to win the London Chess Classic (a Grunfeld and then a King’s Indian Defense) Rapid event. Nakamura beat Kramnik in the semis in a great match.

  37. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

If I were the Hawks, I’d seriously consider:

Hank, Pyatt, Poo-Yo, and Stepan for Sharp, Seabrook, Keith, Bickel, and Shaw.

  38. Rumor has it that it’s ritual seppuku in the dressing room right now. New attitude coming out for the second. All guts.

  39. McIlrath isn’t an enforcer. He’s a defenseman who can hit his gloves and drop hard in open ice.

  40. Olga Folkyerself on

Is the Rangers logo still on the dressing room floor? Maybe they should start stepping on it for luck.

  41. Universe playing against the ducks tonight, for those of you who want to watch entertaining hockey

  42. Awesome to meet the blog father in person. Manny, don’t think Carp looked at my pants…standard straight leg.

Impressions. Richards and MotZ not looking good. Not sure Hank had a chance on either of the goals. Maybe could have blocked the pass on the second. Still not sure how Stepan scored, but I’ll take it.

  43. @rangersreport

The great Sam Weinman in the house, coaching his kid and the Rye Rangers mites between periods. Founder of Rangers Report!

  44. “McIlrath isn’t an enforcer. He’s a defenseman who can drop the gloves and hits hard in open ice.”

he was hands down the most fearsome and physical prospect in 2010 draft, fighting is supposed to be what he does best actually, I saw videos of his fights he is a very good fighter, I cannot believe he got scared of McGrattan.

  45. I expect the Rangers to come out fresher in the second. I have word that AV had them all change into fresh diapers. French diapers.

  46. And at least they didn’t get shutout in my son’s first game, even if he’s more worried about ice cream.

  47. richie doing a good job of leading with the ‘A.’ He’s succeeded in teaching a number of teammates how to float. They’re learning.

  48. chef Alain 'Prost" C'est La Vie-gneault on

Haven’t posted because I was warned for excessive french language references. Quite possibly the most outlandish admonishment in all of the internets. That being said. I explicitly wrote that AV was in over his head, and was like a little farmboy in a big city. His nonchalant chewing of nonpareils in press conference doing nothing more than to exacerbate the harlequin nature of a coach who didn’t even know his own personnel??? Or his knock on Sather?? Just enjoying the losing as it comes closer to an AV firing. The man is a buffoon. When he gets fire I will enjoy some laduree macaroons even if it gets me banned from this mostly enjoyable communauté.

  49. The Rye Ranger Mites. Man, would I have been proud to skate with that little team. I’d sleep in my uniform.

  50. Kenneth at clinchers of '89Flames '94Rangers '96Avs on

“Hank’s saves after the Rangers were down 2-0 bolstered the Rangers confidence.” Sorry, Sam and Joe, incorrect narrative. The Rangers only trailed 2-0 for 25 seconds. Hank’s saves after the Rangers trailed 1-0 did nothing to bolster their confidence, as the Flames scored the second goal.

  51. “Nash is saving himself for the playoffs ;)”

I think after 2 or 3 concussions he is just trying to save his brain, he hasn’t been the same player, and likely never will be.

  52. chef Alain 'Prost" C'est La Vie-gneault on

Asked politely…admonished may have been strong. :) Just find it incredulous that it seems the coach was hired simply based on availability and tenure with vancouver. I cannot think that this man could impress in any sort of live interview. He doesn’t even draw out plays according to his players…rofl…just tells them what to do!! Maybe he is over at Serendipity with John Cusack buying some candies!

  53. Maybe it’s just me, but this is the first time I’m noticing Hagelin all game. What happened to the guy who was on fire right out of the gate at the beginning of the season?

  54. Seems the Rangers were better when they were playing that “Somebody left the gate open” commercial. Maybe they’ll do better when the Honda’s Presidents’ Day ad starts up in February. I see you Abie.

  55. Kenneth at clinchers of '89Flames '94Rangers '96Avs on

Hanka’s saves while trailing 2-0 gave the Rangers momentum to tie this game. (s)

  56. Is there another team in the NHL that gets more goaltender interference calls against them than the Rangers?

  57. Kenneth at clinchers of '89Flames '94Rangers '96Avs on

Hanka made a _quality_ save in a tie game. Hanka Hanka.

  58. PREDICTION: Glencross scores glove-side on Queen Hank in the final minute of the game to win it for Calgary.

  59. “The great Sam Weinman is in the house.” O.K. And the ghost of that journeyman Maurice Richard, I hear, is in the house, too. Wonder if they will have a seance?

  60. Kenneth at clinchers of '89Flames '94Rangers '96Avs on

After McIlrath has been beaten to a pulp enough times, he will begin developing chronic traumatic encephalopathy.

  61. Doodie Machetto on

E3, late in the 4th quarter. Then Eli threw a terrible INT into triple coverage. Tried forcing it to Nicks in the end zone.

  62. This loss is written on the wall. And the wall says “Calgary playing one of it’s amateur-hour goalie”

  63. Kenneth at clinchers of '89Flames '94Rangers '96Avs on

_McIlrath will “do great” when he prevents, sets up or scores a goal._

*McIlrath will “do great” when he prevents, sets up or scores a goal*

  64. _Took his lumps like a man. But make no mistakes, he took his lumps._

And there is Doodie…just in time to hate on the kid after the kid did pretty fair in his *FIRST* NHL fight in just his *SECOND* NHL game.

  65. Me too, ORR. Horrified. I love McIlrath and really want him. To succeed. Not that worried a out his fighting. But definitely scared.

  66. Hell with the stated and unstated ‘rules’. If McGrattan is not guilty of instigating, no one ever is.

  67. Sadly the “Undertaker’s pugilistic skills are more related to mere Pall bearer duties.

He will be soundly pummeled by the more experienced heavies in the league, banishment to the AHL looms.

Bring Semenko out of retirement Glennie!

  68. Great fight. Flames bench lifted by their gutsy fighter. Rangers bench lifted by their gutsy fighter. Nobody can take any liberties now with the Rangers. Nobody can take any liberties now with the Flames. The Flames now have a spark and are fired up for the third. The Rangers now have a spark and are fired up for the third.

    Utter nonsense. 2-2.

  69. Why are you guys down on them?

This team is just about to snap out of its funk and go on an epic winning streak and most of you here are complaining about them.

Give them a break. They’ll figure it out by Game 81.

  70. Norm, you left out, Ranger bench extra happy because Boyle doesn’t have to take on McGratton now.

  71. Honestly doesn’t McIllrath look like he belongs in the chorus with the Celtic women’s show?

He has an angelic face which the lad will have seriously arranged since he has no real style except to throw those generally ineffective looping punches.

  72. For anyone who is interested, Secretariat lost his first race, actually finished fourth. I knew right then that this horse was going nowhere.

  73. I’m just saying it’s got nothing to do with the game (unless you can goad the other team’s best player into the box). It’s pure carnival — all this “give your team a lift” business is pure BS.

  74. CCCP, you thought he did pretty good in his first bout, a unanimous decision for McGrattan on all cards?

Banishment to the gulag awaits! (;)

  75. When McGratten comes looking for you, Norm, you’ll be very happy to have McIlrath or little Dors sticking up for you. You might even feel a ‘lift’ of sorts.

  76. Doodie Machetto on

CCCP, I wasn’t hating on him. I thought he stood tough in there when he was taking a beating. Showed a lot of heart and character. McGratton was a tough first opponent.

  77. Doodie Machetto on

E3, thanks for the well wishes on my kid. He’s coming along. I don’t think he’s ever going to make the NHL, though.

  78. For me, whenever the Rangers have called tough guy up to the big team, I couldn’t wait to see him engage.

  79. iWicky "Frag Out!!!" on

So I’m behind on the dvr and have to put the kids to bed.

I really didn’t want mcilrath to fight mcgratton but the kid did alright against arguably the best heavyweight in the nhl.

And for those of you wanting to dis the kid for that effort in that fight, im sure you would rather have a result like this from some of your man crushes vs a journeyman nhl d man

  80. When McGratten comes looking for me, I’m either hiding or calling 9-1-1. My problem with the sideshows is that fans won’t just say, “I wanna see the fight, preferably with blood on the ice.” It’s the BS about how it will help your team and that’s really why you want it that I object to. It’s like buying Playboy to read the articles.

  81. eddie eddie eddie on

doodie – i know not what you’re dealing with but i do understand and appreciate your concern and worry

  82. Wick, exactly how much “arguing” is allowed re: your claim that McGratton is the man?

But the better question is based on what you saw in his “style” is he more a catcher than pitcher?

Off his first tussle it looks like the former.

  83. That’s all it would take, right? Sprained ankle, broken finger, or anything else that minor? God help us.

  84. Well, the articles were why I bought Playboy, because I’m discerning like that. Also kept me out of fights if I remembered to bring it along with me.

  85. eddie eddie eddie on

norm – kooz makes an excellent point….when one of team mates sticks up for you and takes on an opposing player, it damn well lifts your team…

    And the Rangers. Sometimes.

  88. iWicky "Frag Out!!!" on

I think I put arguably the best heavy in my post, but if I didn’t I meant to.

Mcilrath, IMO is a thrower against guys his size and smaller, and will probably eat some from a bigger stronger guy.

  89. & Levine, Trost and the Steinbrenner boys, leetchhalloffame. They want to thank you too, while they empty your pockets.

  90. eddie eddie eddie on

norm – the point is when someone takes liberties with your Hags, step, MDZ, or takes a run at hank….and one of your team mates stands up and does something about it, your team’s morale is boosted….sorry you don’t see that…

  91. Doodie Machetto on

It looked like it was Brassard. Just couldn’t tell if it was Monahan against MZA agaisnt the wall. IF MZA let Monahan go from there, would’ve been on him. But I don’t think it was. Think it was just Brassard asleep in the zone.

  92. leetchhalloffame on

How long do we have to wait before Glennie wakes up and moves some of this team of 3rd & 4th liners?

  93. Ode to Respect from your mates if you are manhandled?

What good doth it profit a man who gains the respect of his mates if he can’t remember who they are when they visit?

  94. The team’s morale needs to put the puck in the net some time in the next twelve. More morale, I say! Either that or some skill, maybe.

  95. I believe you, iMister. I can’t watch it again. Normally that’s the center’s job when both D are behind the net, and Zuccarello was in the corner losing a battle.

  96. Haven’t had any desire to post. This team has sucked the life out of me. How do you explain another flat opening period with a moron behind the bench.

  97. leetchhalloffame on

Zuke bounced around by 4 Flames after whistle and not one other pansy Rangers comes in to help. NY Rangers 2013/14: no guts, no heart, no playoffs.

  98. Doodie Machetto on

Yup, rewatched it. Definitely on MZA and Stralman. They get confused as to who is on who, MZA ends up standing still as Monahan moves from the wall to the net. Looks more like Stralman’s mistake, really.

  99. maybe they can get sam weinman’s mites team back out there for the rangers to play against and get some of that confidence back…

  100. McIlrath didn’t do as good as I thought he would in the fight his punches seemed a bit slow and weak and he quickly ran out of gas.

  101. Too bad Nash and Kreider as well as BRich are not a factors tonight. Strange, hah? Pullout from other hand…

  102. Doodie Machetto on

Brassard actually did a good job on that play. He was covering a point man because MZA was trapped in deep and did well to react to Monahan coming off the boards uncovered. Just a step or two behind.

  103. Doodie Machetto on

Manny, Zuc was tied up with Monahan on the boards and just let him go to the middle without following. MZA was not covering anyone and was just completely not in the play.

  104. Ah, so without morale, you can’t pass or shoot accurately. I see, I see. So, another fight, then, and then the shooters will have enough morale to score. Bring it!

  105. Doodie Machetto on

And I have absolutely no love for Brassard, so for me to be defending his play, especially his defensive play, you know I have to feel pretty strongly about it.

  106. Pretty lousy play by four skaters and the goalie, actually. I think Richards was doing what he was supposed to be doing on the other side of the rink.

  107. Doodie Machetto on

It was MZA and Stralman together not communicating as to who was covering whom. Stralman went for the guy in deep, which was probably a mistake. But MZA compounded the mistake by not switching off to the other guy on the boards, and stood still as Monahan went unimpeded to the middle.

  108. Doodie Machetto on

Kreider should be in front of the goal on the PP. Everyone is so in love with his speed that they overlook how good he is in front.

  109. my god the fact that the rangers are in this game really says a lot more about how bad calgary is than it does about us being any good

  110. Doodie Machetto on

I think the fact that Calgary is in this game says everything about how bad our team is. THEY JUST FIRED THEIR GM! That’s not the hallmark of a good squad.

  111. Boyle got a point. Boyle got a point. Boyle got a point. Boyle got a point. Boyle got a point. Boyle got a point. Boyle got a point….

  112. @sledhockeyboy Let’s see what the third period brings. Ugh I’m nervous! Hope AV gets a new piece if gum…

@sledhockeyboy AV stop chewing gum and do something!!

@sledhockeyboy It’s hard watching NYR play like they have no heart and soul into the game. Is this the new approach/style. Well it stinks

  113. Get this brassard line off. They have no d zone awareness.

This 7 def is stupid. Never know who’s coming over boards.

  114. Is it Monday morning QBing to say maybe we shouldn’t have scratched Nash tonight? Need a goal.

  115. Incredible to think that professional athletes in other sports manage to excel without having their individual morales lifted by fighting teammates. It’s this unique requirement that makes hockey great.

  116. I’m not watching. I”m guessing they didn’t score.

Well, hey! At least they didn’t get scored ON.

  117. ThisYearsModel on

Unreal. Squander the 5 on 3 and now we are short for most of OT. They now have to hang on to get 1 point out of this.

  118. Kreider winding up for a slap shot is one of the only redeeming images of this NYR season. I actually feel like we might score when that happens!

  119. ThisYearsModel on

CARP’s favorite…..the skills competition. Rare air for the Rangers. They now have 2 points out of a 5 game homestand.

  120. We just had to rely on Benoit Pouliot to score in the shootout to win a game. I think that’s all that needs to be said about this season.

  121. That is one relieved goalie — this could be almost as much of a turning point as McIlrath’s fight. Hey, why are all the Rangers at center ice waving their sticks around? Is that a thing?

  122. A stupid way to end the game, no doubt. But a point is a point. Staged fights would be better, though, I concede it.

  123. Carp

“eric, I think it will be a 7-2 homestand.”

Carp, realizing he will never see his 16 hot dogs, gives eric the easy way out. :)

  124. What a goal by Poulet! The McSpecial!

The “King” lets in 3 in regulation and 3 in the shootout. Still gets 2 points.

  125. Stranger Nation on

Nash playing badmitton during 5 on 3.

He is just a lost sailor out there. Mr. Perimeter, Mr Softy, Stay Puff Mashmellow Man, Nashed Potatoes…

  126. Stranger Nation on

Ex3 – he was very focused on the “funnest” part of the game. Richards can really wrist it when nobody is on the ice and he gets a 150 ft head start

  127. Stranger Nation on

Ex3 – love when the Brass haters showed their true colors during Goal Against

There were 6 skaters on ice and his culpability was #5 after
1 – Stralman losing board battle and standing around
2 – Zucc getting knocked down easily and not hustling to be part of play after
3 – Richards posing for statue casting 6 ft away
4 – Henk letting another softie crawl over his back
5 – Brass not realizing more quickly how defenseless his linemates are covering the whole zone
6 – Falk taking man behind net as he should

  128. Classic Bonehead commentary — Pouliot and Richards, both of whom played good games, get it in the neck for scoring in the shootout! If only each had dumped the puck and jumped into the Flames bench to start a morale-raising fight. Then other, worthier players could have used the resulting morale to score in the next game. How dare they help their team win this one!

  129. “We just had to rely on Benoit Pouliot to score in the shootout to win a game. I think that’s all that needs to be said about this season.”

    Couldn’t have said it better.

  130. eddie eddie eddie on

s.nation – manny in particular…..perhaps he should spend less time busting my balls doing my wang imitation and more time watching the game…just sayin

  131. I’m sure the Asian stuff got to more people than the person that spoke up. That’s cool though. It’s up to you. You don’t have to listen to me.

  132. Let me make it clear for those of you currently shining POULET’s boots:

He’s going to put in extra effort when he realizes he’s about to be traded … then he’ll coast … rinse and repeat.

This gentle man isn’t waking up tomorrow morning and saying to himself, “Oh snap, I DO have the skills to score or at least be useful in this league.”

    POULET’s don’t change their feathers.

Conclusion: Trade him immediately while someone’s still drunk enough to take him.

  133. Stranger Nation on

Headzo no doubt, though he was skating tonite all game.. he does go to the dirty areas but rarely emerges with puck. That shot he took on the jaw in first was a heavy hit, but barely blinked. Probably just shifted the rocks in his head.

  134. I don’t have any friends. No one has said a word. Except me. And I don’t need Carp to intervene in things. I just made a suggestion. If you don’t agree then carry on.

But I do drink the occasional Sarsaparilla or Clear Birch Beer. So I don’t not drink soda.

  135. Henrik was one shot away from Dante’s Inferno. He’s a talented, quality dude, and will regain his eminence.

  136. The only element that makes this team remotely-watchable is THE KREIDER.

Apart from him you might as well place a camera in front of AV and see if he ever calls a timeout.

  137. We win!! Yay !!! Still need to trade most everyone, fire a few clowns and by all means use that last buyout on Richards or maybe Nash or maybe Hank. Buyout Someone!!!

  138. @RothmanHockey: Dylan McIlrath had the Broadway Hat. His #Rangers teammates really rallied around, were impressed by his fight with McGratton.

  139. @PLeonardNYDN: Vigneault heard the walkie talkie and laughs and says: “I just got this picture of Torts, and I’m outta here.”

  140. Nice to go to bed knowing they won a game…back to the hibernation cave. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Oh, and The French Poodle finally had a good day. Some typical badly blown assignments that led to Calgary goals. They seem to do this at least a few times every game, even the good games. No stampede at the OK Corral.

  141. iManny, it goes without saying that the Asian mockery is out of line, but you are good to say it.

  142. Stranger in full disclosure I missed the first 50 minutes of this game. But I’ll take effort from anybody!

  143. Am I in moderation for posting “blown assignment”? Or for ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz?

manny – you of arrr peopre should understand that neary arr humor is an attack on someone or something, save maybe jerry, who made a career being unfunny about absorutely nothing….carry on

  145. I wonder which of those guys would be better at the other guys’ sports? Hulk Hogan on ice skates? Stockton wrestling? Gretzky shooting Tres?

manny – as example, your jamaican bobsled mockery…is that really so un-offensive, really?

    e3 “earth is round”

norm – “because of the morale of the other planets?”

I agree with stranger, Falk only one that did his job 100% on that flames goal. Brass did well, just not quick enough to help…Norris, secretariat, and the 12 yr old all not so innocent bystanders!

  149. Falk was fine. He tied up his man preventing him to get into position. Richards was on the wrong side of the ice. Brassard floated too high. Stralman pursued the puck way too far and into Zucc’s area and Zucc’s lost his man (although he may have been picked by Stralman)

  150. Wish I had a twenty for every time McD pulls his partner’s chestnuts out of the campfire. No matter whom he is partnered with.

They broke the play down on the broadcast and said the problem was along the boards and the group of 3 ranger players there (Norris, 12 year old, and secretariat). Went on to say most egregious error was secretariat.

So while I appreciate and value the opinions of my fellow bloggers, I’m going to go with the professionals on the broadcast on this one.

PS sorry you guys hate brassard so much!

I think the Asian stuff is offensive too and potentially off putting to some. We should try to be more welcoming than that
