Game 22.stars
Rangers at Stars.

Ya boys have lost two in a row and three out of four. They have a grand total of two goals in their last three games, both on the power play.

They begin a five-game, every-other-night trip that goes through Thanksgiving and ends in a matinee in Boston Nov. 29. They are home to play Vancouver and you-know-who the next afternoon.

The Stars are 6-1 in their last seven games, two of those wins in shootouts, one in OT. All six wins were on the road, the loss was at home, to Chicago.

Michael Del Zotto, after three straight pruchas, goes back into the lineup in place of Justin Falk. J.T. Miller will also be prucha’d.

Henrik Lundqvist starts in goal.

Taylor Pyatt (concussion) did not make the trip.

LETS GO RANGERS!!!!! LETS GO LETS GO and GET THE POINTS!!!

Need to score early and get some good pressure on them.

    RAAAAANGERS you can do this!!!

  3. Rangers can move back into playoff spot with win and devil loss. I want 6 of 10 on this road trip minimum

  4. Enough with all the positive play crap. It’s time to win and get pts. Still ticked from other night.

  5. Matty"NashIsBack!!"Boy on

Is it me, or is this a lousy camera angle? Can’t imagine a newbie following the puck here, let alone us.

  6. HOLY CRAP! That was awesome! Who’s in goal for NYR tonight? That didn’t look like Hank!

    WEEEEEEEE!

  7. Matty"NashIsBack!!"Boy on

Sure seems like these guys are having fun and emotionally support each other. Physically, they do their best……

  8. ok, if Nash can stay healthy for the rest of the season and hopefully playoffs and starts scoring goals especially like the one he just scored. I might back off my opinion of him. That’s a big if, we’ll see, need consistency from Nash.

  9. What are the odds we end up giving up Dallas’ first PP goal on home ice this season? Pretty high, I’d say. Not because our PK is bad, but because we’re lucky like that.

  10. wow!!! is it me or does it appear when the rangers play the western conference teams on the road they get out played badly.

  11. My 11 yrs said immediately following the goal….. The 3 best Rangers were in on that goal. Wow way better than anybody on TV in the last 8yrs

  12. Matty"NashIsBack!!"Boy on

Ya, ok, I’m going to bid on the hockey stick with the Ej Hradek, Duguay, Daneyko signature. Not.

  13. I guess the Rangers are trying the get outplayed, but have the lead thing. Scoreboardily speaking, I kinda like it!

  14. Matty"NashIsBack!!"Boy on

Nash with the matador play. He and Richards together are an interesting watch in the defensive zone.

  15. Hey Carp: “Spread some cheer, the holidays are here!!!” Oooh, I love this time of year!!! OoooOoooOhhh!!!!

  16. Nash is diving all over the place on the ice, every time I see him do a swan dive I cringe. All it takes is a knee to the head and it’s all over.

  17. eddie eddie eddie on

matty – as you know, should the rangers/sharks meet for the cup…you will be my guest out here and i will visit you at the garden….

  18. Kenneth at clinchers of '89Flames '94Rangers '96Avs on

Lundqvist keeping this a shutout so far.

Dallas has one of the worst PP in hockey.

  19. eddie eddie eddie on

put talbot out on the pk….2 world class goalies on the ice at the same time are unstoppable…

  20. Kenneth at clinchers of '89Flames '94Rangers '96Avs on

Same and Joe are acting like this was the greatest goaltending performance in hockey history. Man oh man, it was one period.

  21. Ruff’s team closes neutral zone. Rangers still try to make passes through it (Richards blind backhander). Combine that with scrambly coverage around the net and this is what you get. Plus Dallas is in shoot-from-everywhere mode.

  22. rangers are going to have to score more than 1 goal to win this game because they can’t expect lundqvist to make 50 saves and get a shutout.

  23. giveaways: callahan, stralman, poulliot.

we need to tighten up…… big time.

Cally made up for his with a great pass.

the only body check I remember from that period was Kreider.

  24. Caught up. No need for Nash, I guess. The only consistent 30 goal scorer they have. In fact, I think Richards is the only other player who’s even reached 30.

Nash has been money in the regular season. He has to prove in the playoffs, but otherwise has been all you can ask for.

  25. You’ve been told, so maybe it’s time that you learned
You’ve been sold, maybe it’s time that you earned

  26. Gravy,

Nash hasn’t been anywhere close to what I asked for, but I’m often unreasonable and usually ask for a more than I deserve.

  27. SalmonJoe Yak Yak Yak. In the middle of action. Why don’t they meet three hours before game time and Yak themselves to death?

  28. ILB , agree on Hags.

His play has gone down the tubes since Carp declared him the Rangers most effective forward!

  29. I’m sure salted caramel has been around forever, but why do I feel like I’ve just started hearing about it?

  30. How long before the no-talents give up the thing goal … followed quickly by the go-ahead goal … and then the insurance?

  31. Kenneth at clinchers of '89Flames '94Rangers '96Avs on

The toughness of Derek Dorsett missed that breakaway.

  32. POULET is also ON tonight.

    What a TREMENDOUS giveaway,

I don’t know of any other player in this league who could give it away like that.

  33. You’ve been told, so maybe it’s time that you learned.
You’ve been sold, maybe it’s time that you earned.

  34. People on StubHub already asking $900 per for $200 Yankee Stadium tix that haven’t sold out yet…

  35. rangers need to get that 2nd goal. I feel if they get the next goal dallas will start to press and rangers will spend more time in Dallas’s zone.

  36. You can always tell the biggest dog on the ice when Sam says, “oh, ice pass by….” or “great little move there by…” Fill in the blanks.

  37. Dallas hasn’t scored a single PP goal at home yet, but darn it if the Rangers don’t try their hardest to change that stat!

  38. We really don’t clear the puck that much on our PK this yr. sounds simple but we just don’t.

  39. I’m not a fan of him either 3E.

I just want someone to tell me what Miller brings to the table.

The kid has 1 goal, the last 40 games he’s played!

    But I will listen ….

  40. eddie eddie eddie on

gravy – speaking of a brassard sighting, do you think gabby will score -50-, -40-, -30-, -20-, 10 this year?

  41. eddie eddie eddie on

well, let’s look at it another way…..what does poop-yo bring except a boatload of minor penalties?

  42. Another careless off zone penalty leads to goal after rang can’t extend lead with couple of good looks.

  43. Miller: speed, potential to make plays, passes, and maybe a goal or two

    Pouliot: Penalties, turnovers, penalties, turnovers.

  44. eddie eddie eddie on

gravy – fair enough….brassard is waiting till the playoffs…till then….i hope he scores 25-30 this year….

  45. Frosty can score Papa.

Miller would be 2 years behind him had he been a Sioux. Just because he skipped school really doesn’t put him ahead. 3 goals in 41 games.

Seriously, what do the Rangers have to lose? Except for games – by 1 goal.

  46. 11-12 Rangers were one of my favorite teams ever, but my God if those playoff games weren’t maddening

  47. Lol, Carp. But Girardi got that “little bit of stick on stick” and apparently forced him to mishandle the puck!

  48. Matty"NashIsBack!!"Boy on

Well, in the WWE/NHL, usually the ref’s find a way to even up the calls. Would like to see them attempt to do that here. It’ll be a landslide!!

  49. Zucchini again with the me no shoot me pass badly play. I am going to put him over my knee n spank him

  50. Need to see more of that from Moore. He has no moves, but great straight-ahead speed and a good enough shot. AV needs to set up that lane for him more often.

  51. Gravy – Toews is killing it tonight for you!

I may hold SOG and FW before the night is over :)

  52. I saw blondie.

Richards is obviously inspired by this return to Dallas. I hope he gets one in the third.

  53. zuccarella again, skates down the middle, has a shot and passes to his winger who was covered by a dallas player when he had a shot. This team is becoming very frustrating to watch. If the rangers are going to play these low scoring games all year I might find something else to do because I can’t take to much more of these games. There to frustrating for me to watch.

  54. Ilb – and they scored on themselves.

Not AS BAD as Lovejoys for the Ducks. WOW. How would you like to score that one?

  55. I know he was, Latona. He was an ultimate defensive player. If he got the puck in offensive zone right in front of the goalie, his skates started to turn back without him being able to control it :-).

  56. The Olympics are going to be so fun with Sweden, Canada, USA, Finland and Russia (in that order). What unreal hockey teams all around.

  57. figures, watch the first 2 periods of ranger game and between periods decided to check out the football game and forgot all about the ranger game and just tuned in and there up 3-1.

  58. Bad pinch, but the Stars pulled some classic Devils interference to prevent the NYR skaters from getting back in the play.

That was a pathetic penalty shot.

  59. I bet the Zotto follows a couple babes on Twitter tonight to make himself feel better about that pinch.

  60. I decided to go back to the football game. I starting to think I’m bad luck. I tune back into ranger game and they give up a goal and almost another goal and of course nash doesn’t put away a penalty shot.

  61. Matty"NashIsBack!!"Boy on

Richards with the blind pass to Poulet, who makes the blind pass to Jamie Benn…………….nice play!!!!

  62. There was once a time not that long ago when MDZ name was mentioned in the same breath as PK Subban. Now? We’d be lucky to get a conditional 4th rounder for this plug.

  63. I am getting sick of Girardi and his shot blocking. All he does is block shots that there is no need to block instead of playing good defense and throwing big hits. I hope he gets traded soon.

We need to trade for some Dmen that actually play physical. All our Dmen do is stick check instead of taking the body. Makes me want to puke.

  64. Matty"NashIsBack!!"Boy on

Carp, you are always able to point out another side of an issue. Good going. It seemed to me, though, that MDZ’s pinch was ill advised and unnecessary. Let’s hear what the coach says. You have a point.

  65. Major issue I have with AV is he never shortens the bench. Del zaster can’t get shifts this late either should pouliot.

U don’t need to roll all players with a lead late.

  66. 4:00 minutes left, falcons driving down the field with no huddle offense, started on there 10, now at saints 37 yard line.

  67. Matty"NashIsBack!!"Boy on

Poor Hank can never get to the Foxwood’s Five with a 2-goaler. Would be much easier playing for another team.

  68. Carp, regarding DelZ pinch, you have a valid point. Better communication / read needed between Brassard and Delzotto.

  69. eddie eddie eddie on

aroid denies all allegations……no way he’s guilty…and besides, what’s wrong with doing juice?

  70. Matty"NashIsBack!!"Boy on

Rangers hold on here, anyone have questions about who the #1 star of the game is?????

It’s kind of like Rask a couple nights ago.

  71. Hahaha…Tortorella got slammed for shortening his bench and now AV’s getting slammed for not shortening his bench.

    LOL.

Not saying the criticism for either coach isn’t without merit; just amusing to see how the contrasting styles still get to folks.

Of course, if the team was first overall whatever style wouldn’t be an issue….

  72. Matty"NashIsBack!!"Boy on

MZA is really making himself pretty useful out there. I am not a fan, but credit where credit is due.

  73. Jim I agree….some people were mad when torts sat on leads. Those same people now upset that they don’t…great win..

  74. Henrik made the Stars look like the Rangers! The Stars made Henrik look like Rask! Huh huh huh huh huh!!!

  75. how in byfuglien is Hank running
second to THE Kreider in the poll?!?!?

even the dallas announcers said that he should be
the 1st and 2nd star of the game.

    c’mon!

  76. Stranger Nation on

that was a very exciting fast paced hockey game

With Torts you watched games and wondered if it was a 70’s show flashback

With AV, the pace is absolutely fast as all get out. Both teams were flying. Dallas more so – they are very very quick

  77. Stranger Nation on

With Nash and THE Kreider we have two ligit first line forwards. Put them on the same line and watch out!

  78. Matty"NashIsBack!!"Boy on

and for teams that don’t know about him….don’t leave Kreider with open space in your zone.

  79. eddie eddie eddie on

that 1979 final was amazing…Duguay streaking down the right wing….hair blowing in the breeze….thank god he didnt wear a helmet…

  80. Carp, take a look at that play again. I believe Brassard was already moving towards Dallas’ player to forecheck when MDZ decided to pinch in. You have to make sure the winger is either behind you or on the same level so he can cover.

  81. eddie eddie eddie on

snation – ARE YOU CRAZY? you cannot replace those 6 goals that gabby might score this year

  82. Matty"NashIsBack!!"Boy on

Stranger, I agree with you. Imagine if we could find the two of them a center that was creative? wow. A real first line? Wow.

  83. so when is Sather going to sign lundqvist to that lucrative contract? That’s all I want to know. I realize now if lundqvist leaves the rangers there screwed.

  84. yes, it’s a problem, rangers are to soft, need more grit on the back end and front end. That’s a definite.

  85. DZ is rightly confused. Coach stated he wanted him to be strong defending the net, make excellent plays to get the puck rapidly out of his own end, join the rush, and contribute offensively. Jeesh!

  86. Stranger Nation on

We could not hold the neutral zone tonight. They were flying through like a hot knife through butter

  87. MDZ probably stays in, as he should.

Had a bad pinch on that second goal, but a decent game.

As I watch the replay, Stralman, Staal, Zuccarello all go down to the ice one at a time and slide by Benn.

Thank goodness for Hank there. holey moley that was bad.

  88. Trade DZ and Brassard for a top 6 scorer. Call up McIlrath and that puts Falk back in the mix. Let JT Miller play center where Brassard would. Eh?
