The NHL will unveil team jerseys for all four outdoor games of the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ in the coming weeks.

The Los Angeles event will mark a series of firsts for the National Hockey League and its fans as the Jan. 25 game will be the first outdoor regular season NHL® game played in California. In its 51 year history, the venerable Dodger Stadium has hosted eight World Series and close to 4,000 regular-season games, but never a hockey game.

In its five year history, the new Yankee Stadium, which opened in 2009 and is already one of the most celebrated venues in all of sports, has played host to college football bowl games, concerts by Grammy-Award winning acts, soccer and boxing matches – but never a hockey game, making the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ another true milestone for the Stadium, the NHL® and its fans.

The game between the Kings and Ducks will be telecast nationally in the U.S. on NBC Sports Network and throughout Canada on CBC and RDS2. For the Rangers vs. Devils game on Sunday, Jan. 26, NBC will broadcast the game live nationally in the U.S., while CBC provides live coverage throughout Canada. For the Rangers vs. Islanders game Jan. 29, national coverage in the U.S. switches to NBC Sports Network, with TSN and RDS2 providing live telecasts across Canada. Sirius XM Satellite Radio will provide radio coverage of all three games.

NHL Network™ and will provide extensive coverage live from Southern California and New York leading up to and after the games. NHL Social™ will have exclusive coverage on all social platforms, including the use of the hashtag #StadiumSeries.

  1. I kind of like Tom Gilbert against us. He was punchy in front. And right handed. And that would allow Aaron Johnson to keep being super amazing in Hartford.

  2. *Chrome* logos? Really? I thought the *Canadian* beers were more the important *sponsors* of the NHL. e.g. Labatt, Molson…

  3. I can’t *login* to the *Chrome* logo website because it appears to be for *internal* NHL workers or *reporters* or something. We will *have* to rely on *Carp* to post it for us.

  4. Rob in Beantown on

Thank you *Coors Light*! I’ve taken to thanking *corporate* sponsors because really where would we be without them?

  5. Rob in Beantown on

Just think, without *corporate sponsors* you couldn’t even watch the last 5 minutes of a hockey game

  6. We would be *paying* a whole bunch of money for *tickets* to events because the event wouldn’t be *subsidized* by these *generous* and * thoughtful* folks who continue to just give back to the *fans*

  7. Do *all* the players have to be *drunk* while they are playing? Isn’t that *in* the spirit of *the* whole Coors thing?

  8. Rob in Beantown on

Do you think they will make you drink *Coors Light* at the game? If so I would *not* go to the game.

  9. We use to have a Keg of Coors Light on 3rd base, in our softball league. Made for a lot of fun times that summer.

  10. That’s a *great* reason to *not* go to the *game* I would prefer *much* better quality of *brew*

  11. Rob in Beantown on

“Okay, let’s go over the ground rules.
You can’t leave first until you chug a beer.
Any man scoring has to chug a beer.
You have to chug a beer at the top of all odd-numbered innings.
Oh, and the fourth inning is the beer inning.”

“Hey, we know how to play softball.”

  12. Rob in Beantown on

I’m going to be in San Francisco next week for a conference. I’m trying to find a place close to my hotel that has *Pliny the Elder* on tap since I’ve heard so much about it and it is basically a mythical thing like a unicorn on this coast.

  13. I would love to try that *brew* because the name sounds totally *Lord of the Rings* and then I could wear a *Cape* while drinking it and *Mrs. Manny* would get really, really upset.

  14. 1’st and 3rd.

You had to get on base to get a beer.
You had to run with your beer in hand.
You had to fill it up before you could go home.

The Beer league was the league everyone wanted to play in.

  15. *Quick* somewhat related *Story*: Mrs. Manny and I went to see *Local Natives* at Webster Hall a few years back. Before the show we had dinner at *The Smith* which is very close to *Webster Hall*. A guy came in with a *mustache* and a *cape* and I exclaimed “Cool cape, Harry Potter”. Then *Mrs. Manny* informed me that I had just made fun of the lead singer of *Local Natives*. And he *totally* noticed I said it. His *lady friend* did not seem happy about it.

if anyone wants to see the results of a broken tib/fib, just go to my twitter page wicky229.

It takes quite a while to get back to 100%, quite a while!!

  17. Now, if it was *Kohr’s* Stadium Series, we’d be on to something. I mean, if I want to *pee* a lot and not get *drunk*, I can just drink *water*.

  18. I was thinking of flying out for the Stadium Series, but SiouxperWoman made Presidents club, so NOW the vacation days get spent in St. Thomas in March. Sorry Boys, no trip to NY for me this year.

  19. Rob in Beantown on

Is our *chrome* logo available for viewing yet? I am sure it will be *tastefully* done and nobody here will *hate* it in the least

  20. Our last trip to New York was when the Giants won the Super bowl. Scheduled around Flyers & Devils games, who knew they were going to win the Football game.

  21. Wicky©No one screens the goalie, no one gets to rebounds!!! on

If you weren’t such a hipster doofus, I might actually replay to that!!

  22. I have *been* unable to *find* the chrome *logo* for viewing purposes. I assume *it* will be on Twitter soon *thought*

  23. You only get so many days of vacation :)

I’ll need a week for the WSOP. So you can see the dilemma I’m in.

  24. Wicky©No one screens the goalie, no one gets to rebounds!!! on

worst day of my life actually…DOOFUS!!

  25. Dear Wicky and *Sioux* : If you *guys* haven’t noticed it’s all the *rage* to put a few *bold* words in your post. It makes the *blog* look cool.

  26. Rob in Beantown on

They’re pretty boring, but the Devils’ and Islanders’ ones are especially *terrible*

  27. Last time I drove through Missoula, I got stopped.

Nice country, Nice people, even the cop let me off.

  28. Sorry *Wicky*. I know how it feels to *break* a bone. I broke my *hand* and wrist and some other garbage when I was a *youngster*. I apologize for making *fun* of your handicap and *ensuing* deformity.

  29. Wicky©No one screens the goalie, no one gets to rebounds!!! on

It isn’t a handicap unless I get excited and how many guys can honestly say they have a foot?

  30. Wicky©No one screens the goalie, no one gets to rebounds!!! on

I like the red lodge area and keep me in the loop!

Yes it is a nice area, getting to be too many people though, may have to head Tomb way.

  31. I was going to tell you via *text* Sioux so that we could keep it *Secret*

Is it *secret* ? Is it *safe* ?

  32. That’s a college town. Any chance you have a football team that will go up against the *Bison* this year?

  33. Kenneth at clinchers of '89Flames '94Rangers '96Avs on

You are asserting that teams exert more effort in the postseason than in the regular season. To assert that players do not give their all during the regular season is ridiculous.

You watching the B’s and reaching your conclusion is falling prey to the fallacy of the eye test.

  34. As someone who likes both *beer* and *music*, I’m liking this afternoon’s chat.

*Local Natives* are great, Manny. You should be nice and not make fun of them.

*Pliny the Elder* is one of the very few things that have lived up to their hype in my post 25 year old life. Just an *amazing, amazing* beer. You can actually find it in Philadelphia every once in a while but nowhere else that I know of on the east coast. Have you ever tried *Heady Topper*? Same level of *awesomeness*.

  35. Beer talk! I just love me some *Anchor Steam* brewery productions. I’m a big fan of *dark* beers. I guess my favorite beer on the planet would be the *Westmalle* Dubbel. Although the *St. Bernadus* Abbey 12 is a keeper as well.

  36. Rob in Beantown on

That’s awesome to hear *Mister D*. I’m looking forward to *Pliny* even more now that you said that. I’ve never had *Heady Topper* but I love IPAs almost more than almost anything so I will have to look for it now too.

  37. I *have* to travel to the *hospital* now for a routine checkup on my *wound* and new *Machinery* I will be *Back* soon. I look forward to all your thoughts and analyses of *beer* and *hockey* and *Chrome*

  38. Wicky©No one screens the goalie, no one gets to rebounds!!! on

It is a football town and I think they beat North Dakota 55-17 if I remember right

  39. *Heady Topper* isn’t very easy to find either. I think in 4 years in Boston I got it maybe 3 times total? Best one you can find semi-regularly there is *Lunch* from Maine Beer Co. Just had it at *Ginger Man* on Saturday night, actually. Great beer. Named after a *whale* named Lunch. For *real*.

  40. Wichy they don’t play football in Grand Forks, it is a Hockey Town. Fargo is all about the *Bison*, it’s a good chance our teams will meet in the playoffs.

  41. Rob in Beantown on

I live on the green line pretty close to *Sunset Grill & Tap*. Did you ever go there Mister D? They’re known for their enormous beer selection. Over 100 beers *on tap* and like 300 more *in a bottle*. It’s one of my favorite places. I’ve been looking up *Heady Topper* the last few minutes and it looks like it is tough to find outside of Vermont, but sometimes is available in *Boston*. I will keep an eye out

  42. Rob in Beantown on

Did you drink the *Heady Topper* from a can or a glass? It says they recommend you drink it from a *can*, but I don’t know if I would want to do that.

  43. I drank from the *can*. It seems backwards for an *IPA* but I’m not going to argue with people who know how to make that beer. And drinking from the can makes you look *cool*.

*Sunset* is awesome. Miss it very badly. This might be a huge *shocker*, but the Jersey burbs are not a beer haven. At all.

  44. Is there a way to bold things during tomorrow’s *Charp*?

You know, so everyone can tell when you want to emphasize part of your stupid question.

  45. Do you think AV and Avery have gotten together to discuss beret styles? You know, in a manly way

  46. eddie eddie eddie on

rob – repost – touché – there is no such thing as time. Time is merely an accounting tool for man

    werd up yo

  47. I wonder if they have any of these gems at *Bierkraft* in *Brooklyn*. I find it very *hard* to get good beer in New York City outside of bars. No good *liquor* stores.

  48. Rob in Beantown on

A pretty good double IPA that you can get almost anywhere is *Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA*. I think it is very good and widely *available*. Pouring one is a nice way to *relax* after a long day

  49. I am *meh* on the Dogfish Head brews. I prefer *Anchor* Steam. But I need to diversify my interests. Also like *Sam Smith* and a lot of East African *brews*

    I’m not a *xenophobe*

  50. Rob in Beantown on

I have never had any East African beers. Or West African for that matter. Do you *recommend* any?

  51. It always starts with *Tusker* but the better ones are the *Deutsch* breeds like *Windhoek* or *Hansa* or *Coopers*

Also the best thing Guiness makes is sold in *Africa* and their brewery in *Dublin* only. Maybe parts of *Asia* as well. Guinness in *Ireland* is an unreal experience. So freaking good. *Beamish* is also great as is *Murphys*

  52. >>I guess the Sisters of Mercy jokes might not play very well
    >>around here.

Well, I’m not Some Kind of Stranger to Sisters jokes. Did you miss my “Nine While Nine” two games ago?

  53. I’m not sure where *Yakupov* fits when *Nash* comes back. I guess *Miller*? I’m no even sure where *Dominic Moore* fits.

  54. The way *things* are going, I *think* the focus should be on a *defenseman*. *John Moore* may be the odd one out of they can pick up a *right handed* shot.

  55. Waiting for my son in the lobby. So far only one fan wearing Devils jersey. On the other hand, there are three guys next to me in Rangers hats speaking Slovakian. Am I missing something? Is Gaborik resigning with NY next year!

  56. Road Rage Rick on

You can beep your horn all you want but when I decide to get out of my car, it’s too late to take it back.

  57. iWicky "Frag Out!!!" on

And btw, 2 pts for a win 1 pt for and OT/gimmick win and 0 Falking pts for a loss…any loss!!!

  58. Rob in Beantown on

Who else thinks Carp is rooting for a loss so the *Charp* will be more -profitable- fun?

  59. Interesting interview, Carp. AV was talking about nothing until Gross asked him about Nash. “Oh, he’s practicing tomorrow”. Lol

  60. The *Charp* is twice as fun after a loss, but who wants a loss?

Maaarty is going to get spanked by *Hen-rik Hen-rik Hen-rik*

  61. Torts better have an unlimited plan with all the line changes he makes. He could send six per period.

  62. The girl next to me on the train is smuggling two *cannons*

It might be time for a civilian stop and frisk. Those are legal after 9/11, right?

  63. Hey Beantown Rob- check out the Monk’s Kettle in the mission, they’ve got a ton of beers and should have Pliny on tap and yes, you should definitely have it!
