Game review delayed

Apologies. It’s all my fault. But I couldn’t keep my eyes open beyond the 1 a.m end of last night/this morning’s game.

We have a special guest blogger doing the game review, but with the demands of my “other job” I just couldn’t possibly stay awake to edit it and post it in the wee hours.

So I will put it up on the blog when I awaken. If I awaken.

About Author

  1. This team is brutal without Stepan, Cally, and Hags…if anything, those guys will bring a needed spark and make the games watchable…

I still don’t understand the Pouliot signing…Is this guy top 6?

  2. guest blogger is still busy
    looking up
    for “stink” “chaotic” “uninterested” “clueless”

  3. yeah,
    i know it’s pre-season
and that the kings wanted to impress the showgirls
and casts of the Cirque shows
    they looked hungry and organized
for large portions of the game
whereas i was just hoping to see
    some kernels of daylight
at the end of the tunnel.
something such as Nash not acting like
he’s playing a pickup game in his neighborhood
and trying to do it all on his own
or our d-men paying attention to guys in our zone
    before it’s too late
or some of the young ones to stand out
with some moves or shots or passes (maybe a teeny tiny kernel was had there)
    oh well
    feeling a little fuzzy after
    some adult beveraging
    and watching some Louis CK
swung my mood to a better place.
    it may be looooooooooooooooooooong

  4. carp, hope you awaken, but after a lot of rest, game wasn’t worth staying awake for, poor guest blogger,

I know it’s only pre-season, but how does AV figure out line combinations, team from the pre-season production, 9 goals out scored 22-9

  5. A laundry-challenged husband decided to wash his sweatshirt.

Seconds after he stepped into the laundry room, he shouted to his wife, “What setting do I use on the washing machine?”

She replied, “It depends–what does it say on your shirt?”

He yelled back, “Green Bay Packers.”

  6. I am sure it was about salary cap and profit sharing and even distribution of assets.

You know…. all those stupid socialist ideals that have proven disastrous in the past but keep getting pushed by people who don’t produce, but got elected.

No……….. I would have remembered that, I think.

  7. RetireBradPark's#2 on

Carp – tell your guest blogger to take his/her time finishing that column.

We saw the game. They are awful.

  8. nash and Richards have played horrible. Nash with his typical trying to do everything himself by stick handling one on 2 against the defense turning the puck over and when he has a shot he passes it to the other team, he is a turnover machine, not to mention he glides around and takes stupid hooking penalties. Richards, well, enough said. The rangers defensemen look lost, after skating up and down the ice in this new system, either there gassed and stand around or there are out of position. Looks like the smaller pads and goalie equipment is going to affect lundqvist more than I thought. Fans of other teams have complained how lundqvist equipment was bigger than most goalies and I thought that was bogus, well, not looking good for lundqvist. To sum it up, the rangers are fugged, this is going to be a very long season.

  9. Stranger Nation on

    From last night

Richards is a big leader on and off the ice for this team

Vino may move Richards or Brassard to wing

Playing against Cup contending teams with some of your better players doesnt look good

The Kreider is now Effin Kreider

what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas

  10. When was the last time Nash successfully dangled through any one? Even in preseason he cant beat college kids He is as tough to watch as BR and having those guys on the same line, well, it just doesn’t work.

  11. Wow, not fun to watch at all. Nash looks like a player challenging Richie for that last buyout spot. Kreider, uh, I mean The Kreider (sorry, Pimp), who’s supposed to be a force is looking more like a farce. The rest of them just look lost, especially in the offensive zone. Hope springs eternal but this group looks ready for the fall.

  12. Uuuuuhhh…….next stop for this team needs to be OZ……no….the other OZ….where maybe they can find the three things they are missing!

  13. one more thing, the model franchises have been the red wings and the devils, why? because they have stability. The use the same system in there minor league affiliates up to there nhl teams. The rangers/sather brought in tortorella who convinced old slatipus to stop bring in free agents and build from within and play the same system through the organization. Than old slatipus decides enough of stability lets go in a new directions completely. This is why the rangers will not win another stanely cup in our life time and as long as The Hobbit Dolan and old slatipus are running the rangers, nothing will change.

  14. Sounds like Krys Barch is headed to Florida. Guess he’s their downgrade from the immortal George Parros. Panthers will still be tougher than the Rangers (unless Bickel makes the team)
