The NHL again treated its fans like garbage and waited until today to announce the starting times for Sunday, and even though it’s Mother’s Day, the league is still holding you up until tonight if you want to make plans for that day.
So this is the best the NHL can tell you: If Boston wins tonight, the Rangers and Caps will play at 7:30 Sunday at the Garden. If Toronto beats Boston, the Rangers-Caps game is 4:30 Sunday. And, as far as the NHL is concerned, to hell with your mother, your grandmother or the mother of your children.
Then again, “Bleep You Fans” has been the league motto for some time now.
Rangers at Capitals.
The home teams have won all four games in this series which is very unusual in a Stanley Cup playoff series (not in the NBA). If form holds true, then the Rangers lose in seven. Not likely to hold true.
The Rangers’ Marc Staal will not play tonight. He took part in the morning skate, but said he isn’t going to know anything until he sees how he feels tomorrow. Kind of vague, what with the Rangers’ super-secrecy injury policy.
Same lineup for the Rangers as Game 4, which had Ryane Clowe replacing Darroll Powe, and Steve Eminger in for Staal.
Henrik Lundqvist in goal. Duh.
Capitals’ rookie Tom Wilson makes his playoff debut, in place of injured Martin Erat.

Also don’t forget to get completely down on your team, give up hope totally, and blame everybody that you hate the second anything goes wrong tonight. I know you won’t.
