Truth is, this isn’t an actual “Must Win.” Plenty of teams have come back from 0-2, especially if returning home 0-2, and certainly against better teams than Washington and better goalies than Braden Holtby.
That said, though, this is a mammoth game for the Rangers because they proved in Game 1 to themselves and everybody else that they are as good as Washington. But they can’t have the kind of self-inflicted wounds they suffered in Game 1. They they just can’t. And with the Rangers’ inability to score and their woeful power play, 0-2 would be an enormous hole.
Rangers at Capitals.
Ya boys get some of their injured back as Brian Boyle and Derek Dorsett (who makes his Rangers debut) join the lineup. Marc Staal (eye) and Ryane Clowe (probable concussion) remain out. John Moore is, at least to start, elevated to a pair with Anton Stralman … or is it that Steve Eminger is elevated to a pair with Michael Del Zotto? Whatever, new second and third pairs on defense for now.
Kris Newbury and Chris Kreider join Matt Gilroy, Roman Hamrlik and Micheal Haley on the prucha’d list.
Henrik Lundqvist in goal against Braden Holtby, of course.
Oh, and how ‘bout those Knicks?! Fortunately this isn’t an MSG game today so we don’t have to be bombarded with that garbage ad nauseam.

Also, we will have at least one live chat during the week, not sure if it will be on a game day or between games. I will let you know.
