  1. Damn! Richie Rich could have had the natural hat and the Gordie Howe hat on the same night if he had jumped John Scott. Guess he didn’t get the opportunity.

OK where’s the link for the New Post?

Scrolll up- Scolll Down OK there it is!

  3. Doogie opting for the Henna chicken rinse and the $400 windswept casual look. To Mister Vito, the hairdresser: ‘Give me something that makes it look like I just stepped out of a Jaguar convertible after driving back from the dock at Fire Island.’

  4. Manny, you posted something earlier today having nothing to do with hockey that I strongly second. It will forever be between you and me and others of the cognoscenti who don’t necessarily fall for all the self-congratulations of certain overrated groups.

  5. Ex3.. If Clowe had average speed he would have 13 points in 9 games. I mean c’mon, he is playing the majority of TOI on a line with Richie Rich. :)

  6. eddie, as I said before, Clowe was handed a gift, but he accepted the gift, unwrapped it, and put it in his pocket. I can think of six or seven others who would have simply ‘dusted the waffles,’ as Emerick says.

  7. Coos, do you have a time reference on the Manny post you are referring to in your 11:24?

  8. Richie to girlfriend: “Earned my money tonight, squeeze.”

    Girlfriend: “Three fluke goals?”

  9. 8:01 PM, Papa, and I could have added another ten things to his list, including the FAA sending letters two years after the event, to some of the 9/11 “pilots” informing them that their pilots’ licenses were expiring.

  10. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Richards scores 3 goals and finishes +1. That said, he is coming around. I wouldn’t bet against this team. Four very good lines playing right now.

  11. And another thing, what’s with the phony tan in Buffalo in the middle of April? He’ll take Duguay’s job when he retires.

  12. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Kooz – Richards might have turned a corner. His confidence just got an injection. Couldn’t happen at a better time.

  13. Coos, The 8:01 you refer to has some political undertones, no? I thought that was a no-no in this space? :)

  14. The two trades, on the other hand, were necessary and fulfilling! Do you think Dorsett can be healthy (and in shape) by playoffs?

  15. Stranger Nation on

2 buff’s D men were -5 but that is not a defensive stat – in fact, it seems very offensive!

  16. You waterboarded me, Papa into giving up the post time. I see you as the good cop, and I babbled.

  17. And none of it is political in that sense. My complaints cover a variety of administrations. Equal opportunity skewer. :)

  18. Stranger Nation on

Richards was actually in the play so he had chances – there is much more offensive talent on this team now with Zucc, Brassard, Moore and Clowe.

He still coasts or worse over half the game

  19. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Yet some still pine for Gabby and decry the draft picks for Clowe…. Makes zero sense to me.

  20. No Coos, I was just wondering if you were referring to the “go to college and you’ll never learn to play defense” rant.

  21. Stranger Nation on

yes the appeal of the 40 goal scorer. Too bad that is all he did and with Richie playing Ghost of Christmas Future, we couldn’t afford two stiff for almost $20M

  22. Stranger Nation on

Politicians are just the bag men for the bankers. Nothing changes, its been the history of the USA

  23. REPOST from 6:40 PM: ‘Richie strolls around looking for pucks to come his way. One night they will.’

  24. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

    Papa – agreed

SNation. – Clowe, brassard, and Moore (soon add Dorsett) are my favorite rangers…. Clowe being my top dog.

  25. Papa, that was a different rant. I’m listening now to WQXR as I type. They’re playing ‘Brahm’s Third Racket.’

  26. Stranger Nation on

Papa – Columbus is like the Cleveland Indians of the 70s when they were the Yanks Major League farm system

  27. Wonder what the people in Columbus thought when Gabby said he was “pleasantly surprised” by Columbus? Can only take that one way.

  28. Cooscoos:

I will out fasion you then beat you up with an armless mannequin. Unless you want to go dancing and talk about clows who like to coach hockey teams.

  29. A long time ago, a group of high school buddies and I took a road trip to Columbus for a friends bachelor party. Some really beautiful women in Columbus (S)

  30. The last time the Rangers scored 8 goals?

November 14, 2010: the Rangers scored 8 goals against Edmonton’s 2. Marian Gaborik had a hat trick and Frolov had 2 goals. Avery (1A 17 PIM) famously “sucker-punched” Ladislav Smid in the game, according to the Canadian media…

  31. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Rangers win out and maybe make 7th. The bruins or Habs, whichever gets the two seed will be beaten by either the rangers/islanders ( the 7th seed)

  32. Torts Ranger Defensive Zone Strategy as explained to Kreider on his recall :

“Okay Kreidsie, here’s the way we do it. Everybody backs in towards Hank until our tushies touch. When that happens, DMen drop and do Snow Angels, Centers stand still and watch, wingers skate figure 8’s in opposite corners. Got it?

  33. Anyone have an old pair of 10 and a half Air Jordans they’re not using? Ring me up, Sean.

  34. I did notice Kreids throw a couple of body checks out of the corner of my eye while Mich was talking about Lindy Ruff.

  35. Seriously. Did you ever see such a fluky hat trick? Even the 3rd goal, which was semi-legit. Maybe it’s a sign of good times ahead!

  36. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

JoeM – this marathon is really something isnt it Sam?

    Huge explosions

    Sam – it sure is.

JoeM – marathons are long races aren’t they Sam?

    Sam – yep

  37. Richie’s been praying. God said, “Okay, here, I’ll do it for you, but that’s it!”

  38. Byflien’s massive things were churning like pistons on that OT goal, Sam.”

    “Yes, they were!”

  39. Anyone out there have free use of large Hampton’s waterfront for the summer? Tweet me, The Real Avery

  40. Anyone out there in tweetland have an original Declaration Of Independence they don’t want any more? Let me know – SA.

  41. Just finished “the bad guys won” by Jeff Pearlman on the ”86 Mets.

Funniest line, not sure why, Ed Hearn, back up catcher, describing skinny shortstop Rafael Sanatana as having the largest “member” on the team. Hearn described it as “being as big as a bat”.

  42. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Islanders lose to jets tomorrow – rangers win out – we win 7th seed – if islanders beat pens and we beat Habs/bruins – we could be set for a run…

  43. ThisYearsModel on

Watched the condensed game. Where did Buffalo get these goalies. They were human sieves. We’ll take the 2 points though.

  44. I remember Santana as always being on the Mendoza Line, I-95. Couldn’t hit water if he fell off a boat, as Tommy Lasorda would say.

  45. If anyone out there has a fully restored 1920 Indian motorcycle laying around that they don’t want anymore, I could us it. Ring me up. Sean

  46. Keith to Gary Carter: “Did you see what that nude tamale just dragged through the cold cut buffet?”

“It’s Okay, I think he just came out of the shower.”

  47. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

I remember one game – when he was up – it fell out of his pants and landed on the plate

  48. Ash a tad frisky with the penalties tonight. How long you gonna keep the kid down on the farm? And Torts rewarded him and his group with last PP.

  49. Stuttering John to Pete Rose many years ago: “So Pete,,,,Who got hit in the chin with more balls, Johnny Bench or Liberace”?

  50. Stranger Nation on

“Bad guys won” is a great read – these were not the Tom Seaver Mets.

Did that game really happen tonite? Did Torts lose his voice or something?

    No Boyle…no cry

  51. Stranger Nation on

Kreider needs to use smaller skates. He has to signal a turn with those rigs on his feet.

McD had a good game tonite

  52. Stuttering John waited in line for a Ted Williams autograph years ago, and then asked him if he ever farted in the catcher’s face. Williams wanted him arrested.

  53. Liberace used to play a game with his boyfriends that included that…what’s that thing that he had on top of the piano?

  54. Ria( the silent bonehead) on

Speaking of the Mets what do youse think of this kid Matt Harvey 4-0 so far.

  55. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Ria – I’m a Yankee fan… But truth be told – I dont look at baseball until September.

  56. If anyone has Judy Garland’s original dress worn in The Wizard of Oz, circa, 1939, I’d be willing to trade a game-used undershirt, signed. Think it over – Sean #16

  57. Ria( the silent bonehead) on

My sister never was much of a sports fan until we lived together earlier she asked me “is it go time yet”? Took her to a game about 10-12 years ago got her hooked.

  58. Ria( the silent bonehead) on

Mmmm I luv egg creams get your minds out of the gutter. I’m talking the real ones.

  59. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

A great distraction – just watched the end of the first period again – amazing!!!

  60. Ria( the silent bonehead) on

I’m going to go watch the replay now. You can come back now coos & papa nitey night.

  61. Ria( the silent bonehead) on

Me too e3 someone mentioned about making that line the other day Torts must read the blog Coos & papa I forgot to put (S) after my last post.

  62. Between An Evrock And A Hard Place on

God I hate Crapcast/Sucker Ice. Set the DVR yesterday to record the Buffalo game and then the game got switched to the NHL Notwork (which has to be the worst single sport-specific channel ever created….or even thought of) on account of the Boston game being postponed. So the DVR starts recording a Tampa Bay Rays baseball game that wasn’t supposed to be anywhere near the station the Rangers should’ve been broadcast on. Figured I’d watch the rest live and then watch the beginning of it on the replay.
Nope. Uh-uh. Not happening. The NHL Notwork doesn’t rebroadcast their games, figuring that fans would rather see the previous night’s broadcast of “NHL Tonight” over and over and over and…. Eleven hours! I shiv you not.
Figured I could instead watch the replay on the Sucker
Ice channel as the game was still listed to be rebroadcasted there. Another nope. In fact that channel didn’t even replay the Rays game it showed earlier; It showed absolutely nothing. “Hello? Crapcast customer service?”
