Polly, it was one of those “you had to be there” things in the presser. I asked Tortorella who is in goal. They usually tell us the lineup before his pressers, and they hadn’t. Tortorella answered that Lundqvist was starting and then he asked me, “do I usually tell you guys who’s in goal?” and when I told him the PR guy usually lets us know, Torts stared daggers at him, like he didn’t know this whole time that we get the lineup beforehand most nights.
So Torts said, “Let’s go” or something and walked out of the room—laughing.
actually, Torts should have said Dale’! before he left.
the islanders management are insane. the penalty on MDZ was obvious. stick parallel to the ice in the midsection the skater fals, they did not think that was a penalty???
on the rangers ommitting no penalties and the fishtstiks ommitted 3, that is not that outrageous…name a missed obvious call? there were none…
