Primo!
first, always wanted to say this
OH I missed it by one, good for you Admiral
Capuano is on fatburger withdrawal.
has anyone had trouble with the poll? When I tried to vote it said this poll didn’t load properly
Nasher = Soon to be All-Time Ranger Great
How do you guys like Gaby now? Sick shot.
LOL @ Skinny Capuano saying the refs didn’t give them any power plays even though they deserved them…

Nash is a nash best player. Great 3rd period by Rangers and what a blast by Gaboric in OT.
He is very good if nobody attack him, he always need a private space.
Suffering. Epilogue II.
1. Bad load on the pole
Rangers 4-0 since I started wearing the blue jersey again.

Capuano (Borat) and Tavares both crying about the officials’ calls and non-calls….
I’ve just lost a good amount of respect for both. You would NEVER hear Callahan or Girardi crying about the officiating.

Capuano’s meal stolen by lions, blames zebras.
On our 2nd bottle of champagne
I really lost respect for Borat after that presser.
His team choked and blew a one goal lead late in a tight game in front of a packed arena against a team immediately ahead in the standings. And then blew the game in overtime. Get over it. Don’t blame the refs, blame yourselves!
Chris christie just ate West Virginia
Capuano’s meal stolen by Marty the Whale!
Coos…. Haven’t you had your share today? Leave skinny Jack’s food alone
Take your shinebox and head back to your trailer in Uniondale.
Two bottles don’t go far among 6.
Was it a questionable call? Looked like MDZ got tackled. The Rangers had to kill off a billion penalties in the 3rd period and OT against Buffalo.
I have the munches now…
Maybe you didn’t hear… I don’t do that anymore.
10:58 for Capuano, not you, Papa, of course. :)
Massapequa life
Hideous for ranger fans
Nineteen forty chant
Capuano feels there should be an even number of calls on both teams in a game.
In Bettman’s NhL, why not?
Bettman’s NhL of Equality, that is.
Now your gonna dig the hole.
Times have really changed
Islanders head city bound
Still second fiddle
“The fault, Dear Brutus, lies not in our stars, but in ourselves that we are underlings.” – Julius Caesar, Act 1, Scene 2
I hate that 1940 chant.
If you’re gonna complain about a penalty maybe it shouldn’t be one that’s so blatant.
Future Brooklyn Ice Mutts
how could that last penalty even be debatable?
If Crosby complained like Borat and Tavares, he would never hear the end of it from Rangers fans.
Ice Mutts feel that in today’s NhL of Equality, there should be equal number of calls for both teams…
Thus, obviating the need for officials.
1940 = MCMXL McMoxil
I was a caddy as kid. Carried the Police Chief’s clubs once. The guy liked his Budweiser. Like to kick his ball around as well.
Micheletti: “John Tavares—what a player to build a franchise around.”
Yeah, like Ricky Dipietro…
McMoxil 6’8, 265 lb angry speedster, defense, 2018 Rangers
I think that’s actually a good penalty to take if you’re Grabner…What are you going to do? Just let Del Z walk in and score?
Ever attend the Police Chief’s Ball, Papa?
I heard the kid McMoxii has a tremendous vision and anticipation on the ice, with a cannon of a shot to boot…
Grabner can skate.
If DelZ walked in and scored, another star would rise in the East announcing a virgin birth.
Maybe this is Borat/Capuano trying to blame the refs for his team’s loss, in order to deflect his players’ from focusing on their late 3rd period choke.
I don’t dance that way coos
Grabner can really skate. And he can play.
McMoxil not only has a chip on his shoulder, he’s got barnacles growing all over him and when you take a check, there is blood on the ice.
Good to see Gaby get one on the road. First road goal of the shortened season.
If you think about it…that penalty might have saved a goal…and the Isles would not have a chance in OT…
So, Capuano and his cheap suit should just shut up and take the point…
But you must have held his flag for him. What kid of caddy were you?
McMoxii has the strength of Chara, the meanness of Milan Lucic, the vision and athleticism of Brian Leetch, the speed of Paul Coffey, the shot of Al MacInnis, the passing hands of Sergei Zubov, and the intangible qualities of a Mark Messier…
Boy o boy
Hopefully, gabby goes on a tear now
If he had any class and true leadership, Capuano should have complimented his team.
Capuano’s team simply choked against a bitter and more talented rival.
An overtime victory forced me out before midnight – I feel invulnerable
I did tend the stick.
And he’s still twelve, Admiral! Ain’t even fully growed yet.
Gotta go
A player like Ryan Callahan, Brian Leetch, Dan Girardi, or Rick Nash would never have been crying about the officials like Tavares did.
And Capuano sounded like a fool on that presser.
Johnny Carson – “what do you do to bring Arnie lick?”
Mrs. Palmer – ” I kiss his balls”
Johnny – ” I bet that makes his putter stand up”
and when Gabby scored he actually took a slap shot. Not he usual “Snipe” as Manny likes to call it.
Luck
So we have no time table when Staal will be back?
The thing that bothers me about staal’s injury is they say he will make a full recovery…from what? A full recovery from a bruise or swollen eyebrow? No one reports player x will make a full recovery from his bruised thigh.
It has to be serious enough that it is necessary to say he will make a full recovery! I think he’s out for an extended time
That McMovii – hopefully our management won’t evoke the “McMoviii Rules” and limit his development, a la Joba the Hut.
“Can I reach the green with this nine iron, kid?”
“Well, you’re still out 230, but you ARE the Chief. Give it a go.”
Papa – happy trails, laddie
GNight, y’all.
evenin’ papa, admiral
Wick
It bother me too. There is no good news about Staal. They haven’t released the nature of the injury. Doctors being “optimistic” doesn’t mean there isn’t a very, very long road ahead.
Did you see Pronger’s press conference today? He is still dealing with issues from the eye injury he had over a year ago…He has lost vision…He thinks he can still come back, but that is also “optimistic” and not probable…
Later Admiral
Wicky – I cannot stand Pronger – what a tool
NYR fan – still too early. Staal is wait and see me thinks
Sorry for causing Admiral’s and Papa’s early bedtime
If the Nash Rambler Staals, you expect a little Halpern in getting someone to Stepan it and get the Powe back
Nash “the third period is my period”
Papa appreciates you, bear. I don’t think the Admiral knows the night shift very well.
Stocks edge higher as Newbear screams bulls
Hide the children
Doubt the issue was the penalty in OT. Pretty sure they werent exactly thrilled with 0 penalties called on us. And im pretty sure there were some missed calls on us. It happens. Move along. Youd never see Callahan, Girardi, McD, or Nash complain about not getting calls in the game. Capuano’s days are numbered.
The night time be the right time

This is the game we will point to sometime in June
Newbear – touche
I will hire the Pointer Sisters. I hate to point, so impolite.
Miller has an edge – just wait a few years – kid’s gonna be special.
May Kreider follow his lead
From what I’ve seen, I think Torts is spot on in his evaluation of the kid.
Wayne Gretzky reads this blog
Jump
i read this blog
They were good tonite, except for some stick poking and lack of hitting in the 1st, overall the team is coming together.
My timing would be – we peakby the PO, Chicago by that time disintegrates..
Poking’s okay when it’s called for, but you are correct, bear, too much poking, not enough body, and too much kneeling and flopping in front of Henrik instead of moving the man. McD knows how to play the position
Also Capuano should probably answer why Grabner only played 11:40 (Boulton played nearly 9 minutes fyi) before complaining about the refs.
Wayne Gretsky wishes he had eddie’s acumen. You wouldn’t catch E3 hanging with Bruce McNall.
Oh, yes, Kreider – so enigmatic. Great in the play-offs, and what now ? College hockey success often kills any hopes in NHL which is increasingly a scary animal
Eddie shore would read this blog but….......
Bruce was a made man
He shore would, were he able. able was I ere I saw elba.
so Torts basically agrees with most of the fans. Our bottom six are terrible and have little to no chance to score.
He basically went with the top two lines in the third. I am hoping for a healthy Brad Richards and a miraculously rejuvenated Kreider down the stretch.
Good win tonight. Islanders said this was the best they played so far, I agreed that they played pretty tough. Another win tomorrow would be sweet.
Bruce to accountant: “Just add a two before all those zeros and we be cool.”
Torts often alludes, but never refers to his own perception of a young player’s body langage on the ice. Came close in J P Miller’s case to the implied extent that he did not see a similar thing in Kreider.
Kreider knows the score. And he’s behind.
Boyle needs to be on the fourth line. Wayne Gretzky couldn’t score playing with him. (I know they are both centers).
JT Miller has the right attitude.
Stepan has impressed me the most the last few games, maybe because I am paying more attention, but winning games helps you remember the good things and forget the nonehead plays that Hank saved us from.
I’ve seen Jerry Seinfeld read this blog.
Toto, I’ve got a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore.
Stepan has new wheels it seems
Had to square away a few issues. Miss much?
A quick scroll tells me no, not a lot.
Wow – McD played a great game – John T with only 2 shots – McD getting much more physical – me likey
Gabby was so due – goal/game ave up to .47
NASH – Holy Hartnell – he had 2 amazing moves in game which if they connected would have been all time plays. Damn he be good.
thought the 4th line played well (am I allowed to say that here?)
Grabner is a modern day Apollo – dude got rockets on his skates
It’s all good
When the squad wins this plays is so quiet – no donnie downers = classic NY fans – love to complain…

Miller sure looks like he will be a quality player but will take time. Don’t know about Kreider, I think he didn’t know how to deal with whatever injury he had.

thought this was a pretty lousy performance for two periods but defensively they were good and kept the game close. was nice to see Gaborik get the game winner after all the crap he takes from some of you.
When I was in the Navy, in uniform, guy asks me for a light. I oblige, he keeps talking. Eventually, he smokes that one and starts another with his own matches. Hmm, says I, as I bolt.
Kooz be back in a bit – gonna go play some blitz chess
This is in GCS, why I brought it up
Lloyd – it was nice to see…..Nash is the leader of this team by skill alone
Let’s face it. Gaborik has sucked for some time. He knows it; I know it. Sorry to say, but facto is facto.
Oh the crazy in port authority too
He had patience tonight with the puck, his strength. It was nice to see. He has the gifts.
Lloyd – kooze is correct – he is on pace for a sub 30 goal 82-game season… But I hope he has caught lightning in a bottle
Nash is ridiculous good. If Nash ever played with a bonafide elite center he’d put up 90 points/year without batting an eye.
Got a light?
Nash is a bull in a china shop with hands softer than a lamb.
Nash is worth the price even of Dolan’s ticket glom. Pavaratti without the music.
Still not sure i do the Nash deal…only been almost half the season…
And he plays the ice effectively. Gaby should take note.
Stepan has surged these last 3 weeks…
Gaborik’s been alright. He’s not one of the coach’s favorites and gets singled out (unfairly) because of it. 16 points is ok. There are far bigger disappointments on this team.
As someone said recently, Torts says Nash is low maintenance; Nash says Torts is high maintenance. :)
Gabby plays afraid sometimes – that’s my biggest beef…
Right, Lloyd, he has been okay, but he is on the cusp of being a superstar, and should claim that appellation.
Boyle still unleads all scorers with 1 point. Still, it’s more than TGO this season. How many goals does Rod Gilbert have? Exactly!!!
Almost have to let him float, he can’t win corner battles. Hags gets tossed around like Raggity Andy, but he comes away with the puck or moves it more often than not. Not comparing the two, except in that way.
Gilbert has one goal – to break eighty.
Lloyd – he is paid huge $$$$ to snipe.,given his uselessness in the other 2 zones – not sure gabby is unfairly criticized…. Tonight aside. Did you see his lame back check on the islander SH attempt? And the piss poor clear of the rebound later?
Not arguing, Lloyd, just stating one cowboy’s untutored opinion.
McD doesn’t seem to sweat or gulp air even after extended shifts and extended minutes. He should do Everready ads.
Clear they miss Richards
Clearly
Gaborik is lazy and not a two-way player. But there’s been this misconception under Tortorella that top offensive forwards are meant to be third-line grinders. Gaborik will not be successful if he has to play like Brian Boyle. Brian Boyle has to play like Brian Boyle because he has an almost nonexistent offensive skill set. You negate the skills of guys like Gaborik when you force them to play against the boards because that’s just not what they do. I get that with Tortorella that sort of thing isn’t going to fly and guys have to be willing to pin the puck against the wall all night to prove their worth. It’s a pretty inadequate measure of the worth of a guy like Gaborik, or Nash for that matter.
McD is a stud – he and sauer made such a great pair
Be back in a bit
(It is) clear they miss Richards. Nuttin’ wrong with that. And ‘clearly’ can be an adverb modifying they, I suppose. So,
rightcorrect on all counts. As if anyone gave a rat’s…if Richards continues to play the way he has for the vast majority of this season his biggest contribution to the team will be not playing
Yes, Lloyd. It’s patently obvious that Gab’s abilities are hampered by the system. It’s not that he won’t do it, he just hasn’t the something to do it. May as well let him be. I think Torts is trying to do the same thing with the kid out of Boston College, and it ain’t working, not to put Kreider in Gaby’s class.
I talk good English
You mean well English?
I think we’ve all seen athletes who suddenly, after stellar careers, just suddenly lose it all. Richards would seem too young for that, but it happens. Hope that’s not the case.
Kreider’s ankle may have been the problem
Someone shot one over your bow early, eee. Think it was Salty. Caught the tip of my bow, too.
As if you cared
The jury is out until the POs
What did the twit say?
Someone posted that he’s lit the lamp in Ct a bit lately.
Would you rather live in Hartford, or Bridgeport? Ugh! Ranger and Isles’ farms.
Salty? Please – his name alone should tell you….
would agree that it’s entirely possible that Kreider is being pushed into a role for which he’s not suited, but the guy first has to learn to play the pro game. do I think his talents will be squandered if he’s forced to play like a third-line grinder? absolutely.
No names mentioned, but he said something like he went to a Hockey blog and a Seinfeld joke fest broke out. Maybe he thought he was clever…
Peppery
A condiment, for sure
If only Seinfeld was funny
I seem to be agreeing with Lloyd’s opinions a lot, lately.
Well, to you, I’m sure, the Seinfeld reference was the lowest blow of the bout.
Kreider played well with Step and cally in the POs last year
Speed is his game. He needs feeds, like Gaby, I suppose. Nash creates his own insanity, and feeds.
Step has really picked it up. Looks like a different play from early in the season. And he smiles a lot, like he’s enjoying it. That says confidence.
sticking Kreider with Brian Boyle was moronic
as was playing him on the 4th line
It matters not – it isn’t like pearls of wisdom ooze off his keyboard – rangers won, I be happy.
Seinfeld – “Where did I put my keys? I can’t find them anywhere”
Christ, who writes that crap?
Miller centering hags and Kreider has potential
And Steps rooms with McD and says they pick out a movie, Steps puts it on and McD is snoring after 10 minutes, out for the night. Maybe they’re both getting boatloads of sleep instead of catting at 2 AM
Now I’m embarrassed to say that they (Castle Rock) optioned a Seinfeld script from me some years back, but never ran it.
yeah except Miller doesn’t really look like a center right now. maybe somewhere down the line
Sleep is a good thing
Their loss most likely.
Lloyd I agree. Miller and Kreider seem better suited on the wing
Miller needs a lot of faceoff work if they’re going to try to make him a center. They sure ask a lot of him, too much.
Richards centering the two kids is a thought too
yeah I’m still not convinced he belongs in the NHL yet but it sure seems like he’s going to stay there until he falls flat on his face
Take the magic snoozer juice, eee?
Hags Step Nash – super solid top line
Had 2 nice bottles of bubbly
Seems though that Nash is the only one who can find Gaborik in open ice.
Lloyd – miller is getting great OJT
Some little snow on the ground here tonight. Nice sleeping weather.
Richards can play with gabby if your the clock back a year
yeah. if. hope it happens.
Rain – heavy at times out here…
What is OJT?
Hagelin doesn’t belong on the top line
I think there’s been a bit of a correction vis-à-vis his performance a few weeks back. He’s fast and pretty responsible but I think those scoring flashes are the exception rather than the rule.
“Did I mention that I can’t find my car?”
On the job training
Hags is looking great these past few weeks. Question is: can he maintain it? Hope so
Don’t think gabby and Nash can play 5-5 together
Hags made his bones by flying to pucks and mucking when he got there. That’s why he’s here and The Kreider ain’t. IMHO
Nash goes where he wants to go. Amazing so far.
We kind of stole one. Score misleading Henrik kept us in the game the 1st 30 minutes. That along with the Isles inability to cash in on their opportunities. We were backing in over the blue line for half the game and Henrik was great. In the last period talent prevailed and once we tied the Isles started to choke like they have all season. Can’t keep on rolling two lines and expect to win back-to-back games. Kreider’s starting to score, but how do you help a senior by putting him in the 8th grade. To be a pro you got to play on a pro level. What a waste. It’s a good thing Tort’s really likes the kid. I hate to see what would happen to him if he hated him.
7 Days to the Ides of March. I better get some sleep and gear up.
Hagelin’s got 2 points in the last 7 games and basically all of his scoring came in a 5 game stretch
guy is good but not top 3 good
I now from my yute that you don’t improve unless you play against people who are better than you are, no matter what the sport.
As long as they win – nothing else matters
But when you’re on a Stanley Cup quest, you don’t have time to “develop” talent on MSG ice; that has to happen in Hartford. If he starts to dominate there, he’s on his way.
Al Davis.
Werd out kooz – I needs to shut my eyesbsoon
Ok gents – always a pleasure
A rear Diverchi
in a perfect world hagelin is on a 3rd line.. the rangers forwards really lack skill and therefore he is playing up.
kreider should be up soon…they need more scoring…..
cannot go the whole season with multiple guys contributing zero offense….
Nash = Beaster (Beast + Monster)
That is all.
