from the NYR:
RANGERS RECALL FORWARD MICHEAL HALEY
NEW YORK, March 5, 2013 –New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has recalled forward Micheal Haley from the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Haley, 26, notched a goal in Connecticut’s 3-2 win on Sunday at Bridgeport. He has registered nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points, along with 158 penalty minutes and a plus-five rating in 56 games with the Whale this season. He ranks fifth in the AHL with 18 fighting majors. He also leads the team and ranks 11th in the league in penalty minutes, and is tied for seventh on the Whale in goals. Haley has recorded four multi-point efforts, including a two-goal performance on February 10 at St. John’s. He tallied two assists on February 15 against Portland, establishing a career-high for assists in a single season with his 11th assist of the season. Haley registered 11 points in an 11-game span from January 23 against Adirondack to February 17 against Manchester, tallying five goals and six assists over the span.
The 5-10, 204-pounder has skated in 303 career AHL games in six seasons with Connecticut and Bridgeport, registering 49 goals and 45 assists for 94 points, along with 797 penalty minutes. He established AHL career-highs in goals (15), points (25) and shots on goal (101) last season with Bridgeport. Haley notched the game-winning goal while making his AHL debut on December 8, 2007, at Springfield.
The Guelph, Ontario native has also skated in 43 career NHL contests over three seasons with the New York Islanders, registering two goals and one assist, along with 151 penalty minutes. He registered his first career NHL point with a goal on February 11, 2011, against Pittsburgh, and made his NHL debut on April 10, 2010, at New Jersey. Haley was signed by the Rangers as a free agent on July 1, 2012. He was originally signed by the Islanders as an undrafted free agent on May 19, 2008.

I hope he jumps on the ice for his first shift dressed as Darth Vader
825k salary pro rated we pay nothing basically for hendricks. if caps fall out of it further they would probably take a draft pick for him
cap talk (that’s cap with a little c)....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, dribble, cough, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
wooohoooo!! meet another borderline 4th liner, NYR fans! Ohhh…we’re so spoiled with talent! Thanks, Mr. Sather!
not sure why you need haley tonight. philly not as rough as the yhave been in past.
need more O…bring up kreider instead..
for those uninformed, rangers issues are with goals for not goals against…
If he plays disciplined, like Asham, I like it. Flyers likely to be nasty 2nite.
Oh, new post for Haley….
Sorry, Lloyd, it was you who mentioned Laich.
Carp, wasn’t it the game against Pittsburgh when Haley scored a goal, fought Talbot, Johnson and someone else?
I have zero problem with this. Our top guys have been getting molested lately, which is flat out unacceptable. It needs to be put to an end.
Agreed. I’d much rather think our 12th forward is a waste tonight than see bags like Rinaldo (targeting unsuspecting players) and Hartnell (targeting smaller players) pull their typical bag act during the game.
I hope Girardi lights up Hartnell’s red hair tonight.
Hartnall looks like Krusty the Klown
Wow, Carp. That’s a lot of degrees to connecting Haley and Talbot. Which reminds me….
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbpj9_UM-Fo
I want something like that but with more bruises on Talbot’s face.
Eric you are all over Hendricks. Does that pro rated junk still apply? I thought that LW mentioned, in the previous post, that those things are gone now.
I would gladly toss Hendricks on our 4th line for that cost.
Let’s see if Haley will stand up for his new teammates if needed…
Hendricks wouldn’t come cheaply.
how about the universe plays like gack-tastic tonight. I am so in the mood for a nice easy laugher. and for all these flyers wins, getting back to .500 and all, who have they beaten? Their road record is carcillo. Time for the rangers to adjust to life after the “hit.”
i have no issues with haley. word is out around the league. runs these smurfs (especially boyle-
and full apologies to the original smurfs-both the cartoon and the on ice version) and you will beat them.Let’s go. hattie for nash tonight!!
you folks seem to be pinning an awful lot on a guy who’s going to play maybe for 4 minutes
I’m just hoping he wins Bickel/Asham’s spot on the 4th line once Richards returns.
If only we had Prust…
Lloyd
when it comes to 4th liners we (Rangers fans) love to get our hopes up!
Haley might just fight Bickel for old time’s sake.
I’m hoping for that, LW. I think once there is only one slot on the 4th line they should fight for it. No helmets. OLD TIME HOCKEY style.
Hypothetically, if one were going to violate their conscience by buying NHL memorabilia, a lettered Rangers jersey, who would one best buy at this particular juncture?
Criteria are:
1) Must have street cred
2) Must be a likely Ranger for a long long time
3) Must have jam
I like Hendricks from WASH. He is an UFA after the season. I would sign him as a third line / depth forward. He could add some toughness to this team.
Looking forward to Haley vs Rinaldo. Hope Haley takes him to school.
No one is pinning anything on Haley. In fact, Hendricks has already been floated as a replacement for Haley/Bickel/Asham.
All people on here are hoping for is that next time someone roughs up one of our guys (which the Phlyers LOVE to do) that one of our guys skates over and makes them answer for their actions.
I’d like a copy of that
copy that
Copy THAT
Rob in beantown…captain cally obviously…
Enhance.
Enhance.
Enhance.
Just throwing something out there:
Since Perry & Getzlaf are both UFA at the end of the season, would moving Gabby and getting one of the two ANA UFA (preferably Perry) make sense for the NYR? Assuming they are looking to sign with a team other than ANA.
..... also R. Clowe is a UFA, I think he and Hendricks would add toughness and depth to the team. What do you guys think?
.... R. Torres is also an UFA. I know he’s dirty but we would love him on the NYR.
Hendricks, Clowe & R.Torres as depth forwards. I know, I know …. wishful thinking.
Haley has been playing really well in HFD apparently and he is one of the better agitators/fighters in the league
I’d much rather have Haley in the lineup over Bickel since he is can actually do something if he has the puck on his stick…
I expect the top 3 stars tonight to be
McD
Boyle
Henry
Cutting Richards and getting Perry certainly makes sense.
“I’m hoping for that, LW. I think once there is only one slot on the 4th line they should fight for it. No helmets. OLD TIME HOCKEY style.”
To the death.?
NO! To the pain.
If only we had Orr
Vitaly: I will say the same thing I said a few days back. The only player in Hockey (including players we could trade for or sign after this 2013 season as an UFA) I move Gaborik for is Corey Perry. He has only put up 50 once but I think his style of play fits our system perfectly.
Getzlaf I don’t want. He’s way too streaky of a scorer and has epic goal droughts. He also has never scored more than 30. If the 50 goal potential isn’t there then it’s not worth it.
Gaborik is an elite goal scorer. Just by numbers alone.
Katy Perry is UFA? Sign her up! her boobies can def. bring us good luck!
it’s now official: Haley has been mentioned more times in this thread then he will be for the entirety of his Rangers career
“To the pain,” means the first thing you lose will be your feet below the ankles, then your hands at the wrists, next your nose.
I wasn’t finished. The next thing you lose will be your left eye, followed by the right . . .
Wrong! Your ears you keep, and I’ll tell you why. So that every shriek of every child at seeing your hideousness will be yours to cherish, every babe that weeps at your approach, every woman who cries out: “Dear God, what is that thing?” will echo in your perfect ears. That is what “to the pain” means. It means I leave you in anguish, wallowing in freakish misery, forever.
I think you’re bluffing.

LMGirouxO, The Doctor!
Yes
CCCPif we had The Prust we wouldn’t be worried about Bickel/Halpern/Asham and we would have a guy that could slot on the 3rd line, kill penalties and mix it up with anyone on the opposing squad. We also wouldn’t be concerned about Pow! on the 3rd line.what the hell does lmgo mean
If only Asham wasn’t hurt we woudn’t be worried about not having Prust nomo…
Um…...I don’t know why your (
CCCP) attitude has switched from giving hockey opinions to being an all time needler (which is cool) but Prust is a way, way better hockey player than Arron Asham.yeah I think Prust is the most overrated player in the sport and even I’d rather have him than Asham. Asham no longer has any value
Manny: Do you think uncle Glennie is thinking if I sign C.Perry …. Richards or Gaborik gets moved?
Lloyd – this one took me a while also. As a previous victim of this, I will assist you.
Picture the internet acronym LMAO. Now think what the “A” stands for. Then think of a blog appropriate synonym.
And in my case, insert any player whose name begins with a “G” and shares similar characteristics with the “A” in LMAO.
princess bride quotes, and I missed it. I could have easily participated. love Haley being called up. its about time we have one of our own.
... Gaborik gets moved, Richards gets amnestied
lloyd – laughing my assen off but the g=glue dee us maximus
Vitaly – I think that Glen is already thinking about buying out Richards in 2014. There are a massive amount of UFA’s that year. So I think he’s looking to either slot one of our youngsters in as a second line Center (Miller?) and keep Stepan as an all time 1st line Center.
Re: Gaborik, I assume Glen is thinking how he can keep one of the few 40+ goal scorers at a price below $5M/Year. Thus, I think we either try to re-sign Gaborik (I have a feeling he goes out West) or use that money to get someone brilliant.
My personal opinion is that the Ducks are stuck. They either move Perry now or keep him, take a run at a cup, and lose him at the end of the season, regardless of whether they get a cup or not. Thus, I have previously taken the stance that moving Gaborik for Perry now is a smart move provided we can lock Perry up in some sort of extension (which would involve buying out Richards in 2014).
prepare to die….
bull dog, I won’t blame you. You’ve been mostly dead all day.
For reference here is a list of the UFA’s at the end of 2014: http://capgeek.com/free-agents/?year_id=2014&team_id=-1&position_id=-1&fa_type_id=2
Obviously some will be re-signed by their teams before they hit UFA but they won’t all be and there are plenty of awesome names in there.
manny – insert “former” in front of 40 goal scorer
We’re talking about trading Gaborik to add value, not to dump, right?
If only we had a holocaust cloak.
For reference here is a list of the UFA’s at the end of 2014
I heart Patrice Bergeron. Would be a beautiful fit here.
Manny,
I think it is more likely that Gabby gets moved, before Richards get bought out. you have to remember that Torts will have a lot to say about it, and we all know he loves Richards and only tolerates Gabby.
the odds of gabby ever scoring 40 again are slim…imo
I think so, The Doctor. Thus, only moving Gaborik if the return is named Corey Perry.
manny said dump
Most of the 2014 UFA will re-sign with their team. Hopefully there is 1 or 2 players we can poach .
if (when) Gabby goes…we will need a present day 40 goal scorer…thus, we are improved as a team…
I don’t think that’s true, bull dog. Richards will most likely be bought out in 2014 if he continues playing this way.
Gaborik being moved is not as simple as everyone thinks. You can’t replace him because there are very few guys out there that can do what he does.
bull dog, they have to buy out Richards because of his contract. It has nothing to do with him as a player. They can’t pay him that much when he is 37+. They just can’t. They have to buy him out now since they won’t get another chance.
JR – “My senses tell me that it will inultimately be actually”
Seems that there were only 4 40 goal scorers last season, eddie and Gaborik was one of them. So…..who’s replacing him? Stamkos? Malkin? Neal? Not likely options…
manny – but he doesnt do much these days…sadly….
I think we will have to send Richards back to where he was: unemployed, in Greenland.
manny – hank aaron hit a lot oh homers in his career…..these days…not so many….know what I’m sayin?
of….not oh
I only see two guys that are going to be UFA’s in 2014 or earlier that could come close to replacing Gaborik:
Corey Perry (being my top choice); and
Phil Kessel
JR- “When games are played unextrinsically finish timely.”
Agree on Richards. No matter how well he plays they MUST buy him out after next season or he is going to be a bigger albatross than Redden & Drury combined.
Good afternoon all! Late to this I know, but I see the great NHL halls of justice worked its magic again….blech.
Work is going to keep me from most, if not all of the game. So my night is already hartnelled before the first puck drops. LGRs!!!!!
They will trade Gaborik? Inconceivable!
You keep using that word. I do not think you know what it means.
JR – “very usually it can seemingly be anything”
bull dog, they have to buy out Richards because of his contract. It has nothing to do with him as a player. They can’t pay him that much when he is 37+. They just can’t. They have to buy him out now since they won’t get another chance.

They have to buy him out because he has TWO “signs of the beast” in his Cap Hit!
666 666
“you keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means”
JR- “Sometimes things can be always and never”
to whom are you referring…and what word???
Thanks, bull dog. Quoting that movie accurately is very important to me. I am dishonored by my mistake.
No more rhyming! I mean it!
Anybody want a … peanut?
JR – “at the end of the day, it’s tomorrow”
I understand what you are all saying about the Richards buyout, but you are going to have to replace him. there is not a number 2 center in the organization. going to end up paying someone probably even more.
ahhhhhhhhhhhh the Beast
If the Rangers miss the playoffs, I think eric will be too drunk to buy brandy.
JR – “it can most likely be actuated”
“we are men of action, lies do not become us.”
bull dog, Stepan is a #2 NHL center. Today. Richards is being paid to be our #1 and he just isn’t. The fact that there isn’t another viable #1 available isn’t a good reason to keep paying Richards like he is.
JR – “as an informative person, the more eloquinated the topic, it seems”
Yup.
People in masks cannot be trusted.
kooz should be waking up about now…
JR – “illustrative of this therefore is decidedly better.”
like the goonage for the flyers… never can be too ready. Remey noted that when he scratched Orr and the Fridge was running everybody including Jags. Orr made him pay the next game, with the all time best Ranger knock-out!!! Somebody gotta link it! I was sitting about 30yds away…... Priceless
Manny?
Doodie,
you are right, Stepan is a number 2 center, but reality is that he has been the Rangers number 1 center for quite a bit of his career. he is there number 1 right now, and he was there number 1 for a large part of last season. my point on Richards is you are going to have to replace him. if you buy him out, you better be darn sure you can sign someone to replace him.
You are using Bonetti’s Defense against me, ah?
bull dog, I get that, and there will be guys to sign. They might not be big names, but honestly, could they be much worse than Richards?
And who knows? Maybe it’s JT Miller.
Doodie?
I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.
JR – “as is most things, there can always be several”
I hope we win.
JT Miller could completely take over as a #2 Center. Maybe even #1. Stepan has been great this season and there is no reason to say he can’t get even better. He’s very young.
Solve the problem by buying out Richards and then immediate re-signing him at a much lower cap hit. BOOM.
Naturally, you must suspect me to attack with Capa Ferro?
How awesome is this!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=MX_x4RUMY_w#!
Manny, that would be fantastic if it were allowed. However, it specifically is forbidden.
Naturally. But I find that Thibault cancels Capo Ferro, don’t you?
I understand what you are all saying about the Richards buyout, but you are going to have to replace him. there is not a number 2 center in the organization.
They’re independent of each other. If Richards isn’t playing up to his contract and there’s no reason to expect improvement as he ages, you amnesty him. Philadelphia wouldn’t say “we don’t have another goalie in the organization, so we should just hang onto Bryzgalov for 7 more years”, right? Same logic. You’re opening a hole, but that hole can be closed.
going to end up paying someone probably even more.
We can either pay someone half what Richards makes for the same mediocre production or we can try to pay a guy the same or more to produce like a near $7MM player. All options and risks are better than knowingly hanging onto a guy as he declines from a premature low.
Manny said Bone(tti).
So bull dog, your argument is that, if we buy out Richards we will have to replace him?
That’s like, more of, a fact? If we lose Richards we need another quality centerman at a reasonable cost. Maybe Stephen Weiss would be a good option since he’s coming off an injury plagued, down season and might need to prove himself.
Unless the enemy has studied his Agrippa… which I have!
“I just want you to feel you are doing well, I hate for people to die embarrassed”
Or, maybe Stephen Weiss sucks.
I admit it, you are better than I.
It’s true that we can’t “by rules” do that, Doodie. But what is the NHL going to do? Suspend us for 3 games? Their discipline system is pretty bad.
Plus if you and I represent the Rangers in the proceeding…...
Then why are you laughing?
Even doing something ridiculous, like paying Derek Roy $6.67MM per for 4 years, is better than paying Richards the same amount for those 4 years plus another 3 years. If you think of it like that, you realize just how bad (1) Richards has been and (2) his contract is and will be.
Gaborik of Couture for my fantasy team tonight?
my argument is they are trying to win the cup in the next few years. if you buy out Richards, and want a number 1 center to replace him its going to cost you Richards money. I’m not saying I wouldn’t do it. I just don’t think it is as easy and clear cut as you guys.
(then why are you smiling)
Because I know something you don’t know.
Richards is getting bought out at the end of 2013-14. I’m sure that was intended when he was signed too…
bull dog, I get that. But Richards is not… He’s not good. He stinks.
What cool aid are you guys sipping on this afternoon?
Richards isn’t getting bought out. Unless he is injured beyond repair at the end of the year.
Manny I would take Perry, but I wouldn’t touch Kessel with a 10’ pole.
Seems like a lot of doom and gloom this afternoon for a Rangers/Flyers game tonight?
It’s going to get Nashty tonight! No doubt about it.
Rangers Win! I don’t think it’s going to be close.
Haley initially fought Max Talbot, who not only is now with the Flyers, but who also injured Rangers captain Ryan Callahan’s shoulder in a tussle last time the teams met.
Down in Mex we call that revenge served Alamo style
Looking at UFAs that might actually be available (so no finger crossing for Getzlaf), I’d rather give Ribeiro or Andy McDonald a short term deal than hope Richards turns it around, and when those deals expire, you’ll have a much better idea of what you have in Stepan and Miller.
Did we trade for matt Hendricks?
No effing way on kessel.
“Unless he is injured beyond repair at the end of the year.”
Then he would be ineligible for a buy out.
I’d love Kessel. He’s a great player. But he can’t be your best player.
Sure, I’ve been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I’m not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren’t as good. That used to be called patriotism
Kessel would give torts an Avery like aneurism.
I miss Orr.
Why did we not resign him. He always stuck up for team mates, and if you got hit by the “ORR” your Mother felt it.
Sioux, because he was so slow that nobody ever got hit by the ORR with their gloves on.
my argument is they are trying to win the cup in the next few years. if you buy out Richards, and want a number 1 center to replace him its going to cost you Richards money. I’m not saying I wouldn’t do it. I just don’t think it is as easy and clear cut as you guys.
But it is. No one is saying you shouldn’t pay a #1 center the type of AAV Richards gets (or even more), we’re simply saying that if you pay a center that AAV, he has to perform like a #1. Richards isn’t close.
Besides getting shot on the back of the head, do you know what else Abraham Lincoln did?
He was a champion wrestler in high school.
And Im not making that up
Sioux-per-man
How can he not be bought out? His contract is essentially designed for getting bought out. Granted, it’s a bit early than expected, but if he’s only going to be a 40-50 point player next season then you have to get out from under that contract, even if he is not properly replaced
Mister, it’s not as simple as you make it because that #1 won’t be available to give that money to. Getzlaf isn’t going to be a Ranger and he’s the only guy approaching #1C status this summer.
sioux said pole
Put it this way, if they don’t buy out Richards in one of the next two summers, that contract is going to be painful and damaging for years. I think they give him one more season, unless he really stinks it up the rest of this season. Then you have to do it.
Andre the Giant drank 100 beers in one sitting.
Richards is a #1 center like my donkey is Secretariat
Carp, I’m not even sure waiting is a good option. You can’t risk him getting hurt near the end of next season. All it takes is one dumb Kaleta and we are stuck with Richards for the better part of a decade.
Abe Lincoln wrote some great speeches….and his wife was uber depressed – before and after the play
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdafluUWFnU
I need to go to the theater like I need a hole in the head.
Doodie thanks for the laugh. So we go with Haley & Bickel tonight?
Ranger version of the Hammer & Sickel!!!!
Thoughts of getting hit by the Bickel? Not sure it scares anyone, but then again you could ask Tostito’s how it felt last year…... if you have his cell number :)
so he doesn’t have to be bought out this summer, they can wait to the summer of 2014? they will wait till 2014 then.
money cant buy everything its true
Mister, it’s not as simple as you make it because that #1 won’t be available to give that money to. Getzlaf isn’t going to be a Ranger and he’s the only guy approaching #1C status this summer.
No #1s being around doesn’t make Richards a #1. Amnesty him and pay a #2 to play like a #2, that’s still better than paying Richards like a #1 to be a #2/#3.
Abe – “mary, let’s sit in the back…no one will know we are here”
Dare to dream, dare to drink.
That is what we call a philosophy amigos
“Amnesty him and pay a #2 to play like a #2, that’s still better than paying Richards like a #1 to be a #2/#3.”
Yes. This. But which #2? Gets dicey.
bull dog, but if he’s injured at the end of the season, he can’t be bought out. Why take that enormous risk?
(There are also the more convoluted routes of paying a good defenseman in order to use one of the current 4 (plus McIlrath, I guess) as trade bait or something like that.)
Yes. This. But which #2? Gets dicey.
That’s why I used the Derek Roy example. You have to imagine the worst open market case with Roy is still better than current case with Richards.
(I’m not advocating overpaying Roy, I’m saying if you did, you’d still be ahead of where you are now.)
Doodie – you mean Mike Ribeiro? Of the Capitals?
Kessel wouldn’t be our best player. Nash would be.
Kessel would merely replace Gaborik as an enigmatic and streaky scorer. Kessel would obviously front-load his scoring quite heavily.
Carp – agreed. He will get all of next year. I don’t see Tort’s giving up on one of “His Guys” by the end of this year.
Both Richards & Gaborik have been flat lately, but I don’t see anyone pulling the plug.
Mister, that’s true, but we need to add to our D, not thin it out. We still only have 5 NHL defensemen.
take the risk Doodie,
1 more year buys time for Stepan to become a true number 1, to find out if Miller can be a 2, and 1 more year for Boo Nieves to develop in Michigan.
But what if Richards has a good year and they decide to keep him? That would be the worst result of all.
Manny, yes, Mike Ribeiro of the Capitals. I’d take him on a short term deal to be our #2 C.
As for Roy, he’s been pretty terrible for a couple of season in a row now.
well that would be bad and good. good in that if has a good year, chances are the Rangers would be good as well. bad in that, that would probably be his last good year, and the Rangers could get fooled buy it.
My gut check on Ribeiro is kind of a feeling of overwhelming nausea. He’s such a disgusting player. Big time flopper. Blech.
But reality says that he could be pretty helpful to this team. He is a consistent scorer. So why not? But I am not rooting for him!
And you’re right. Richards having a great year and us keeping him is a disastrous situation.
exactly. Buy him out now, save ourselves the trouble later.
As for Roy, he’s been pretty terrible for a couple of season in a row now.
And he’s still outpointing Richards this year. But he’s just an example of doing bad a different, cheaper way. I trust something would come up that would be more appealing.
(Phrased the other way 1: If Richards were a UFA after this year and asking for $47MM over 7 years, would anyone give it?)
(Phrased the other way 2: If another team had Richards at $47MM over 7 years and was offering him to us for nothing but cap relief, would we want him?)
Mornin, all. Little cloudy out there today, I note.
JR: “I can hardly conceive of Gisele Bundchen having a child.”
I was very relieved to see that my cap is just where I left it. I have cap relief.
Stephan Weiss, by the way, is out for the season. so you can cross his name of the list of potential centers for this season.
Saw Haley driving around 7th Avenue earlier. He was in Haley’s Comet.
They are not buying him out after this season. We are trying to win a cup remember?
Even if he is just a 40-50 point player going forward, he’s still a top 6 player with a Conn Smythe trophy and a knack for scoring big goals.
As long as he doesn’t turn into Drury before then, he’ll be fine…
Looks like MZA’s Sovietopånsy team just got knocked out of the playoffs.
Who is hailey? Are we enemies? Where’s buttercup?!
Even if he is just a 40-50 point player going forward, he’s still a top 6 player with a Conn Smythe trophy and a knack for scoring big goals.
What if he’s Scott Gomez? Because he is.
Manny
wtf is a needler?
I don’t think my attitude has changed… i just remember how much crap most of you gave me last year and the year before for sticking up for Avery who, imho, brought A LOT more to this franchise than Prust ever could… just returning the favor ;)
QUESTION
My two nephews are at the game tonight and i was wondering how do you get to that glass tunnel where the players can be seen as they walk from the locker rooms to the ice?
Watching Haley make a sharp left at 33 St in his Comet made me realize that he was here and would be a detergent to the animals from Philly.
That wasn’t her toe, dude.
I was putting him on the list for 2013-2014, bull dog. I said he might be extra cheap because of the injury.
Him = Stephen Weiss
Doodie, Richards may be injured this season too so they wouldn’t be able to buy him out this summer either. They are taking chances now, they will do the same next season. I believe they’ll give him 2 more playoff chances. It’s not a forgone conclusion that his play won’t improve. If they knew it for sure, he’d be gone along with Redden already.
Class tonight kids. Have fun storming the castlw
Good to hear somebody around here has some class. :)
NHL Network has already declared tonights game: Classic
Fair enough
CCCPalthough I don’t remember this franchise being in an ECF game with Avery on the roster…..Personally I am just looking forward to 2019. That will be the year we can sign Wayne Simmonds.
Which will also be the last season before the next Lockout
#Lockout 20/20
Anybody notice how absolutely terrific Bernier has been? Jonathan Quick and Jonathan Bernier might be the best goalie tandem in the NHL with Luongo/Schneider and Crawford/Emery being close seconds this season.
Those are two very good Jonathans…

I thought it was Torts who took us there… or was it Vezina season by Hank? hhhmmmm… NO! IT WAS PRUST!
Though, i dont remember Prust being a factor in PO’s at all… all i remember Neals and Konopkas and Folignos running wild w/o any retribution…but yeah let’s build Prust a golden statute next to the MSG and write under it “Sell out”
Maybe we could put statue that next to the Avery monument wearing a Dallas jersey…to remind us that even God is a sell out….
:)
Touche, NYR. Well played, sir.
Phone’s ringing, Dude.
but isnt Prust the ultimate team player? THE IT of all IT(s)?
All I have to say about The Prust can be said through a Big Lebowski quote:
That rug really tied the room together.
ok ill quote BL too, then
“STFU, Manny” :P
You know what I realized earlier today? In all this Richard buyout garbage talk we have really lost sight of the fact that Derek Stepan has been fantastic.
Tort admits earliy that Boyle will get more time and JT Miller will, for sure, get an opportunity at Center tonight.
WWJTD?
what would John Tortorella do?
JT Miller officially the second line Center (at least according to the lineup card)
LOL…I know, Manny. People are even more excited about My-Keel Haley…
Haley’s debut is going to be epic. I predict 4-6 minutes of ice time and 10-17 PIMS.
Stepan has been great, for sure…
Stepan = #1 Center
BRich = #1 on a buyout list
Nice. Back to agreeing.
I really can’t hate Scott Hartnell.
It’s easy for me. Just watch what he does to McDonagh at the end of the Winter Classic…piece of clarke…
I wouldn’t mind Hartnell on this team
Dale Time?
You think that hit is that bad, NYR? I always felt like he turned and made sure to not hit him up high.
I hope we can all agree that Rinaldo is a complete tool.
HALEY COULD BE THE PRUST REPLACEMENT. PRUST WAS A FIGHTER ONLY BEFORE BECOMING A RANGER. ASHAM IS A BUST….
All Caps?
He was swinging his stick like a weapon…but of course, it was a celebration of Mr. Snider and Philadelphia, so Hartsy is entitled to his end of the game cheapshots…
New Post Clowns
too bad “periods” cannot be capitalized
PERIOD
Manny said period.
Total BANJ party.
