Carp, you can ask for an interview with Mr. Edwards in Calgaray and ask him how he reconciles his hawkish CBA views with his recklass spending?
I will ask him, Evan.
Czech, sounds to me like this “I like Kreider, I want him to play no matter how poorly he plays or no matter what’s best for him to develop, and I don’t like this guy or that guy, so I don’t want him to play no matter what role he fills … wah-wah-wah.”
money cant buy everything its true….but what it dont buy, i cant use….give me money…that’s what i want
sorry for the grammar and spelling mistakes, post was supposed to be “can you…” and I butchered Calgary.
WOW on the O’Reilly offer sheet. Fantastic move by Calgary. It’s not like they have anyone on their team for the future other than Baertschi.
CTO, regarding Kreider playing with Miller and Callahan, Kreider really only played well in that first game. He wasn’t very good in the next one and was just bad in the others. Miller outplayed in him all 4, including the 4th when Miller was also pretty rotten.
I would sincerely love to hear an answer if he ever had the cajones to answer honestly.
Things are so bad in Washington that an Arab sheik just laid off six senators.
and the owner in Calgary isn’t alone in this hypocrisy.

That’s exactly why it seems a strange choice of team from O’Reilly, Doodie, aside from maxing his $.
agree Carp, just the man of the moment. But since we know JJ in Boston is such a bafoon and Leipold went on his spending spree pre-lockout, I think Mr. Edwards at least can tell us how he is putting his values into practice.
The Black helicopters are hovering around Kreider trying to determine what happened
Not that I should be surprised by a player only seeking to max his $...
O’Reilly – guess he was a bargain at $4.5M – hmmmmmmm

Czech, how did the skating competition go?
I absolutely love everything about this move by Calgary. The timing is perfect. Last year’s trade deadline was 2/27. Colorado, if they match, can’t trade him for 1 calendar year from the day they match, so they likely won’t be able to trade him at the deadline, which then makes the 6.5 2nd year salary so brutal because they will have to qualify him at $6.5 million, which is impossible for Colorado, not to mention O’Reilly will have arb rights and be a scant 2 years away from UFA status.
Just brilliant all around for Calgary. The cap hit is fine for them since they don’t have a player worth a damn on their roster next season other than Kipper and Baertschi. So that’s no problem. It may bite them in the butt though if O’Reilly doesn’t progress, because even for them, 6.5 million in two years would be a lot for a crummy player. But I appreciate the boldness of it. O’Reilly is worth more than a 1st and a third. Absolutely.
It was my experience as a kid that I didn’t get better unless I played against older kids who were better than I was. Are many AHL players better than Kreider right now? Obviously so, but he has the tools to stand out. He has to be a factor there before he’ll ever be a factor here.
MY brutha – we must fight on…..THE MAN shall not overcome
Not making fun of him, SN. It’s obviously his prerogative to get paid. It’s just that the Flames are going nowhere.

Agree it’s a decent “trade” for the Flames, but their first rounder could still pretty easily end up being a top five pick.

LW, possibly, but they are pretty close to the playoffs, their division is terrible, and they just added O’Reilly. This could be the deal that makes them a playoff team.

Your opinion. Don’t agree with it at all. I thought Kreider played well in all of the games on that line. As did the the whole line.
Carp
I like Kreider. I think he will help this team win if given the chance. That chance has not been given to him in my opinion.
As for Boyle, what role are you referring to? He gets second/ third line minutes for fourth line production. And this year, AHL production. Yes he kills penalties. So do a bunch of other players, so what. You defend Boyle all the time and thats your choice. Maybe he is a nice guy to you in the lockeroom who gives you access. Maybe not. I don’t know. But Boyle has been no better than Kreider and is still getting good ice time. Kreider will never develop playing with Kris Newberry and Brandon Segal as well as playing for KennyG.
Doodie, great analysis and provides everything we need to know.
As I said earlier, good for ROR, he’ll get his money and if the fans and his teammates resent him for the holdout well that’s his problem and he has no one to blame but himself.

CTO, take off the kid-colored glasses. They got progressively worse in every game, especially the last one.
You can even read the quotes from Miller after each game passed about how he was doing worse and worse. And at no point was Kreider doing better than Miller.
Doodie, I also think that this might give them a chance to do a quick rebuild by trading Iggy and or Beaumeister. If you can get prospect hauls for one or both, then you have a young, up and coming team that can grow together. Also will make battle of alberta that much more interesting
Boyle, at least, is throwing his substantial weight around. If Kreider is 6’3 230, you would never know it unless you looked it up.

Thanks for asking. It didnt go as well as we had hoped but my daughter is only 14 and is a rookie in the sport. She is an ice dancer. The big achievement was making it to the world championships in her first year. That we are all very happy about. That said, the scoring in that sport is a joke! My kid got underscored and should have finished at 6-8 slots higher than she did.

CTO, she will learn from it and return better than ever. Congrats on making it to the championships in the first place. Should we look for her in South Korea in 2018?

Evan, nobody will trade anything of value for Bouwmeester. Nobody.
Iginla, of course, but they won’t trade him unless he asks to be traded. They would have traded him 10X by now if that weren’t the case. In other words, they’re treating him the Rangers should have treated Leetch.
Czech – Kudos to your fam and daughter. World Championships! What a thrill for her.
swing low, swing high, sweet chariot…..

Boyle gets knocked down by players who are under six feet all the time. He cant skate well, he cant pass, he cant shoot, nor is he all that good on faceoffs .He does do great snow angels though.
when S.Nation and E3 were in egypt land…...let my people go…..
czech – you are the missing the point…..Boyle unleads all scorers with 1 pt. this season
No, I don’t defend Boyle, and if I did, it’s not because he’s a nice guy in the lockerroom. But he is a legit NHL bottom six guy who, as awful as he’s been—and he has been—leads the team and is in the top 10 in the NHL in hits, wins faceoffs (compared to the other guys, anyway), and has a role. That role is not Kreider’s role. Yes, Boyle needs to produce some points. I completely agree. That’s not Job No. 1 though.
Carp – he has produced a point

Thanks as well. Yes, the 2018 Olympics in Korea is her target and by all the feed back we have received, she should make it quite handily . We have been told she has a chance to be on the podium in the 2022 games so we are excited but let me tell you, it costs a fortune to do this.
I think I might have clipped Daffy Duck with my assault semi-aquatic last weekend.

He has 1 pt! He is a fourth line player getting second line minutes on many nights. As good a reason as any for why we cant score. Bottom line, as a player, he sucks!!

kooz you crack me up
don’t agree, Czech. As a scorer he sucks, and most games this year he has sucked. but we saw him as a legit third-line player last year, a guy who could check the other team’s top guys and kill penalties. Again, I definitely don’t want to sound like I’m defending him, because I don’t think he deserves to be defended this year. But they are a better team if he figures it out and is the player he was last year, just as they are a better team if Richards comes out of it. And Gaborik.
And I think Kreider will be back in the near future.

My other daughter is no picnic when it comes to spending money. That one wants to be a doctor that specializes in high risk pregnancies. She will probably be off to either UPenn,Johns Hopkins, or Rice University in TX. All three go for a rock bottom price of 56k per year. Med school at about 75 k per year for 4 years!
Czech, I’d offer you a cut of my 25 cents a comment … if it actually existed.
but we’re onto a new post.
