Where is that anger coming from, Tiki? I wouldn’t say anything but yesterday you used the word “irrelevant” to describe The Prust which I think is far from the truth. I think Prust is the new standard for a “goon” in Hockey. The days of the guys that can’t play and are only here to knock heads is over. Players like Prust are going to fill that role in the future of the NHL.

I think about death all the time. Of the people and pets closest to me. Not of myself, I’ve lived a full life, so I’m not concerned about my life getting cut short. That’s why I make jokes. But I get how it could be construed as unacceptable on a blog. I certainly wouldnt makes light of suicide to any family member or friend that’s lost someone to that.

That’s fair, I guess. I think he was better than Rupp was ever. He was replaceable, though they didn’t exactly replace him, and I thought he contributed a great deal to the way the team played last year and the success it had.

Prust was an all around terrific 3rd line player. Tremendous on the PK. A short-handed goal king. I think he led the league for at least half the year in that category.
Go back and read the comments when we lost Prust. I don’t think any of us would have advocated that we outbid Montreal but I think many of us knew and pointed out exactly what we were losing. And it was a lot.

I guess Asham, being the clearly inadequate replacement for The Prust, might want to step it up and show what he’s got. But he’s not The Prust. It took multiple players to replace him.

dunno, think they’re more or less a wash. Prust’s 10-11 was an aberration like Rupp’s 09-10. overall they are (or were, in Rupp’s case) adequate checkers who’ll score once every 8-10 games.
