NEW YORK RANGERS POST-GAME NOTES
February 7, 2013 (Game 10, Home Game 6)
Madison Square Garden – New York, NY
Rangers 4, Islanders 1
Team Notes:
- The Rangers defeated the New York Islanders, 4-1, tonight at Madison Square Garden, for their fourth win in the last five home games.
- The Blueshirts improved to 5-5-0 (10 pts) overall, including a 4-2-0 mark at MSG this season.
- The Rangers extended their home winning streak against the Islanders to eight games, and have out-scored the Islanders, 35-11, during the streak.
- The Blueshirts have now registered at least one point in 14 of their last 17 games against the Islanders, posting a record of 12-3-2 over the span, dating back to a 5-2 win on Dec. 17, 2009, at Long Island.
- The Rangers remained undefeated when scoring the first goal this season, posting a record of 3-0-0 in those contests, compared to 2-5-0 when allowing the game’s first goal. The Blueshirts improved to 3-0-0 when leading after the first and second periods.
Player Notes:
- J.T. Miller notched his first career NHL point with the game’s opening goal at 1:29 of the first period, added a power play tally at 18:11 of the second period, posted a plus-two rating and won 5-8 faceoffs (63%) while making his Madison Square Garden debut.
- According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the last Ranger (rookie or otherwise) to tally multiple goals in his MSG debut was Chris Kontos in a 6-2 win against Detroit on Jan. 3, 1983. Miller is the youngest Ranger to tally multiple-goals in a single game since Alex Kovalev posted a hat trick on Dec. 27, 1992, at the age of 19 years, 307 days.
- Henrik Lundqvist made 27 saves to improve to 4-5-0 overall, including a 4-2-0 mark at home this season. He has held opponents to two goals or less in four of his last six games, posting a record of 3-3-0 with a 2.02 goals against average and a .923 save percentage over the span.
- Marc Staal tied his career-high with two assists, was credited with five hits and a game-high, four blocked shots, and posted a plus-two rating in 26:28 of ice time. He has registered three assists in the last three games, and now leads all team defensemen with five assists and is tied for first with six points in 10 games this season.
- Marian Gaborik tallied the eventual game-winning goal to increase his team-leading total to six goals, and is tied for first on the Rangers in scoring with nine points. He has recorded eight points (six goals, two assists) in six home games, and is now tied for the NHL lead with three game-winning goals on the season.
- Chris Kreider recorded his first career NHL regular season assist with the primary helper on Miller’s first period goal. He has now tallied points in consecutive games, after notching his first career regular season goal on Tuesday at New Jersey.
- Ryan McDonagh tied his career-high with two points, including one power play assist and an empty net goal, and logged 24:42 of ice time. He also tied for the team-high with three shots on goal, and was credited with two hits and two blocked shots in the contest.
- Brad Richards tallied an assist on the game-winning goal to extend his assist/point streak to three games (three assists over the span). He increased his team-leading assists total to seven on the season, and is tied for the team lead in scoring with nine points.
Post-Game Quotes:
- John Tortorella on the team’s youth… “It’s so important for the organization to keep filling in with kids. Cap world, youth and enthusiasm. (Carl) Hagelin comes up here and changes our team last year. I’m not sure where it goes, but both of them have contributed here during the first couple of games.”
- Henrik Lundqvist on J.T. Miller… “It’s great. We need everybody to do good stuff for us but obviously a young kid like that to come in—and not only his goals. I think he plays so mature out there making good decisions with the puck, It’s important. It definitely brings some energy to the group. Guys come in and do well right away.”
- Ryan Callahan on tonight’s game… “It’s never too early to talk about the importance of a win. I think the biggest thing for us now is to put a few together. We can’t keep going back and forth, win one and lose one, especially with this shortened season. We have to build on this and get better as we go here.”
Team Schedule:
- The Blueshirts’ practice schedule for tomorrow, Feb. 8, is 11:00 a.m. at MSG Training Center.
- The Rangers will return to action when they face-off against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday, Feb. 10, at Madison Square Garden (7:30 p.m. – TV: MSG Network; Radio: ESPN 98.7), in their second meeting in eight days.

Slow down, Carp
new post(s).
Lev, he’s been pretty good at answering questions all season so far …
why is Rupp still here?——->>>
so…what’s wrong with the B-Rich?
Kid said he got lucky, got some bounces, and the puck landed on his stick. That’ll go a long way in the locker room. Good responses.
got the win so all looks better.
henrik hada very nice game….
miller obviously was the story. next game i sit asham and suit up boyle…
not sure who else you would sit.. btw gilroy is better then bckel not een close…
Torts to Boyle: “Why the long face?”
I withdraw my call to buyout Brad Richards.

“Brad Richards…..my vote for the second long term buyout.”
After the 1st period of the 1st game of the year…...
After watching the Brad Richards’ “Beginnings” I withdraw my call to have him bought out. learned he is a good guy, big heart, good family….. my bad
I’m better than Stu Bickel. Gilroy is Paul Coffey by comparison.
Poor Rupper. Shipped off to Minnesota and plays 6:34 there, too.
Asked before, but got no response. Anyone listening to the post Press Conf. who heard Tortorella talking about someone who he was very pleased with, but who had a history of sometimes going over the line? ...Asham?
Avery
If the damned press guys would just speak up, I wouldn’t have to ask.
Are we still buying out Brad Richards!? Even after his Beginnings ... Come on!
Avery. LOL
Didn’t hear that Coos, but listened to the Post-Game Presser….
Leetch said McD might be a Coffey someday. High praise.
I think the one guy we know we can rule out is Derek Stepan
McBust being #7 American born defenseman is a joke. Guy is #1 when age is considered.
they whisper to Torts like it is a wake, wtb?
for a man that’s about 5’6” everyone is scared to death of him
It was a Wake. For the Islanders. Who are not winning anymore. Despite the absolute toughness of their coach.
screw a Capuano. Giannone puts that biznatch in a skirt and bleeds on him while doing commentary.
SILENCE!
Giannone was all time tonight. I hope Tort shows the team tape of him bleeding while reporting. BE TOUGH GUYS (Pyatt, etc.)
Michael Del Zotto ?@MichaelDelZotto
@jaygeemsg absolute warrior. Runner up for the broadway hat. Big blocked shot.
Giannone let Rosen know tonight that he means business. If I were Sam I’d think long and hard before taking those Saturday nights off during football season.
FYI – Stralman (that’s right, spelled correctly on purpose because he earned it) with 26:41 of ice time to lead the Rangers tonight.
Carp, that is true. I guess I was just happy to see MSG show most of the presser. It lasted a good 4-5 minutes.
So who leaves Washington first, Ovechkin or Oates?
I mean, can you believe the Devils had Stralman in camp and LET HIM GO!? It’s nuts. Guy is so solid.
Is it weird that B Rich’s beginning is the only one I haven’t watched….
I am liking Mr. Pyatt, and all the children….now let the grown ups step up…
Strawly is good…
The Manhattan Line
Jim Beam I W Harper J W Dant
No one can leave the Crapitals Boudreau (their good coach) is busy winning with the Ducks. Ovechkin need sto lose the “C” though. Why have the guy that hates the NHL in charge of your team?
mcdonagh is a monster…. the guy is 23… the article from usa today on the usa roster is a joke. reputation based.
quick is the goalie, mcdonagh is on the team playing huge minutes.. end the story.
McD is perfect for that big ice.
Pyatt, really? Am I the only one that think Pyatt looks outmatched when not being on the 3rd line and parking in front of the goal? I loved the pickup. Loved it. Defended it to the max. But he can’t be more than what he is. And if he’s going to take a que from Boyle and play -130lbs then….well…...he’s not what we need.
Why do I live only 30 miles from MSG and can’t get MSG game coverage on Dolanvision!!! Hartnell!!!
yes manny… you are the only one… you are also the one who thinks that prust is better than gretzky…
Stuart – agreed. McBust must be the Captain. He’s terrific. Easily the best American born Defenseman. And I don’t think it’s close (given his age)
He was third tonight (behind Stralman and Staal) btw with 24:42, Ice time.
manny,
like we said earlier today, Pyatt is fine getting 3rd line minutes. playing with the best players on the roster? not so much.
Nash, Pyatt, and little gritty Cally are the only ones who go to the net and take the punishment.
switch to fios Mama
Yea ive been very impressed with Stralman. He has really improved from when he first got here. I dont know exactly how much he played but it had to be around 20 minutes. Crazy.
Now where Manny will disagree with me: ever since the playoffs began Stralman has consistently improved whereas Stepan has consistently regressed.
Never said anything close
CCCPJust think, and know, The Prust brought something to this team that they will never be able to capture again.Watch Monster Nash get pushed around tonight. Watch our team do nothing….
I love Pyatt. Love.
Yes! What Lloyd is saying / reiterating
Mama, I have Dolanvision and had the game on the normal MSG channel…
Let’s not get too carried away with Anton Stralman. Guy is a 3rd pairing d-man when everyone is healthy. He plays ok a bit of the time and he has other times where he’s not ok. Typical journeyman defenseman.
Explain, Lev. Why? Why does Pyatt reach the level of “love” ? To me the guy never finishes a check and is moved off the puck way too easily for his size…
What bugged me was our goalie being crashed and no call, no retaliation. McD started getting Bogart, but who else?
did not think nash showed much tonight but they won so he gets a break. he loves the move where he turns his back to the defender while stick handling…
emminger got like 7 shifts, i think zero in the 3rd. torts is a piece of work…...
Manny , I withdrew my demand to buyout Richards after watching “Beginnings” tonight. In fact, I will never have a negative thought about him again. Good guy, good family.. Not quite Graves, but close enough. So what if he loses some face-offs, plays the pp point like Dale Rolf and will consume a large portion of our salary cap for many years to come.
Manny, yes, Pyatt….I think he’s really playing to prove himself on team. Perfect, no..but that’s my story and I’m sticking by it (or Pyatt) for now at least.
Manny February 5th, 2013 at 10:31 am
With all due respect to mister Gretzky but THE PRUST is the greatest of all time.
Chicago 6 Phoenix 2 Final. On the way to 47-0-1.
Tortorella basically never plays that 6th defenseman anymore mostly because whoever is there would be a healthy scratch on a team when Girardi is dressed.
That last interference penalty assessed to McDonagh was a disgrace to the sport and the kind of thing (along with everything Gary Bettman has ever done) that makes me doubt the long term existence of the NHL.
This was tongue-in-cheek Mr.
CCCPI’m sure you can find a post by me explaining the exaggerated love for The Prust on here. I exaggerate my love totally. But this team misses what he brought. No question.Did Boyle not attend Torts charity dog walk this summer???
Yea, lloyd. All 4 minutes of McBust’s penalties were a joke
Lev…so weird! I didn’t….wtb?
OK, the beauty of life and here is we can agree to disagree. But I think I, and those who agree with me, are right :)
He’s a better Boyle. His story + actually trying every single game = love. I do realize he is slow but that hasnt hurt us…yet.
BTW that shift of Pyatt Richards and Gaborik where Gaborik scored was epic. You knew they would score on that shift.
Manny
i just made that post up lol
yeah forgot about the first one where Lundqvist took a slash to the glove but McDonagh ended up the only one penalized
that interference, though, not even NBA officials would have called that
Stralman played first pair minutes today. His play the last 30 or so games he’d be a 2nd pair dman on many teams.
C3, you evil bastage…..:)
Ok all….gotta get up early pre “storm” so Ta! til the morrow….
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest, BMama. Everyone who announces an early retirement gets Shakespeare.
Wow I estimated he played around 20 minutes today…he played nearly 27 minutes. Show of hands who would have thought last year that Anton Stralman would be playing 27 minutes for us?
by show of hands who would have thought Matt Gilroy and Steve Eminger would have to dress
Stepan played about 6 minutes more than Gaborik, and in fact he played the most minutes from all the forwards. That I do not like.
One thing you gotta say, our defensemen are in superb shape, at least cardio.
Gilroy no. Eminger yes.
Gordie Clark is proving that he knows what he’s doing. I can’t wait until McIlrath is ready to be here…
also, I’m virtually positive Stralman had a game last year where he played roughly 27 minutes
Big scorers are usually looking for some open ice. Hard to blame the nifty Czek for defensive lapses.
Nash looked kinda lazy tonight….
@NHL_Sens
Congratulations to former #Sens D-man Wade Redden who played in his 1,000th game tonight. 838 of those games were played with Ottawa.
Tortorella was all but misty-eyed tonight in his praise of Hags, not just for tonight, but for last year. The other night, he all but called him an ignorant troll. No matter what you say about the coach, he knows how to drive the horses.
Nash didn’t get any credit for
disrupting grabner on his breakaway
slid on ice and whacked
the stick just before he shot
(all that sounds so dirty.
maybe i need sleep
or a drink)
You can’t get arrested for disrupting…. Or can you?
Hags with his quickness needs to start taking the puck to the net more…way to much time is spent behind the net…
The Rangers are a faster and quicker team than they were last year….
The Rangers are a faster and quicker team than they were last
yearweek….I think he needs some of that deer antler juice that ARod likes. He’s listed at 5’11 and 180. Probably more like 5’9 170.
coos
still…he gets through and around the players pretty good.
in the first period nasher had a perfect set up for Hags and…well you know had that ends
in the second period he had a goal taken away where he crashed the crease to poke the puck home and continually goes to the net – not worried about him getting pushed around as he is bigger than all those D on icelanders.
He also nailed tavares to the ice in a questionable call IMO, though McD’s was much worse call in 3rd.
Playing with Step and Hags is not conducive to offense.
No one looks like they are expending more energy skating than Eminger – his elbows are flying wide, knees sticking out, its pretty funny to watch.
Hagelin is an adequate player. He’s ok as long as he’s not make really stupid mistakes. I was skeptical of the guy’s offensive prowess last year and I’m fairly convinced now that there’s just not enough there to warrant pairing him with the Nashs, Richards’ and Gaboriks.
Did they ask Torts about the too many men penalty AGAIN – bwahaha
Speedo. Agreed, he can come out of the corners with the puck against much bigger checkers. But I think they measure a lot of these guys with their skates on. What goes into the yearbooks, from High School to pros is what the player tells them he is. Some of them downplay the weight. I’ve seen Nash, for instance listed at 210, and elsewhere at 215.
did Stralman actually touch the puck on that too many men call or did it just pass by him?
Never got an answer to that one, Lloyd. But Carp just shook his head in the Presser, so I assume he thought so.
just saw replay on Rangers in 60 – very hard to tell
guessing Tortorella didn’t hold it against him one way or the other since he played a ton of minutes after that
Richards had a more jump tonite and has gotten better on draws the last three
Hagelin is one of the fastest skaters in the NHL, if not fastest, and he has decent hands…he also isn’t afraid to go in the corners….
He is a star in the making…he has time…
Hagelin’s dumb as a post, though and he’s antsy
betting he’s a trade in the making
Doubt the long-term existence of the sport? Because of a cheap penalty call?
yes that’s exactly it. that one penalty spells the death of the sport.
Here cames JT Miller to the net, save, he scores – classic Sam – it’s a power play goal!!!
Hags won the NHL speed skating contest last year. He claims Gabs is close or faster.
Love Hags – but he is a 3rd line checking winger who can possess the puck in the cycle begin the net.
Having Miller and Kreider up here will allow him to play in his rightful place
Um, no. A lot of the stuff you say has a lot of validity. That doesnt. Cheap penalties aren’t going to deter fans from watching the sport, attending games, or buying merchandise.
‘behind the net…
stranger nation is correct
an important role but not a budding offensive star
tiki, I said none of those things
Sorry to talk about Asham, but he showed up at Torts’ dog walk and didn’t really know anyone. And he’s played disciplined and under control, which is a shocker if you remember him elsewhere.
yeah Asham’s been surprisingly good in the limited minutes he’s played. wouldn’t mind seeing him play more tbh
Miller looks a lot more mature than THE KREIDER…
and wtf is wrong with Stepan?
Did someone impersonate you?
There’s a post above with someone using your name, saying the penalty on McDonagh makes you doubt the long term existence of the sport.
impersonate who?
if I had to bet I’d say Kreider is still somewhat bothered by that ankle. ankle injuries don’t heal that quickly and they’re not the kind of things that yield themselves to effective skating. his reponse to Trautwig during that intermission tonight made it seem like he wasn’t 100% but won’t complain about it.
coos – not a big ass-ham fan but he played very well the last 3 games including some unexpected stick handling skills
wish gabby had hags’ motor…prust saying
Tiki,
The point about the penalty was that it’s just one example of an increasingly large mound of evidence that suggests the league is moving in the wrong direction. I don’t really believe fans will stop showing up because Ryan McDonagh was called for interference. But I do not believe that the many changes we’ve seen in the sport are in any way increasing its sustainability down the road.
3CP – Step looks slow like he is playing himself into shape. lots of pk time I dont agree with.
Cally and Powe were VERY GOOD on pk tonite and the Isles had/have leagues best road pp
Stepan has to be one of those guys Tortorella said is afraid. He looks scared to death out there.
Interesting article in today’s NY Times about Russia’s 9 time zones and how in Moscow for most of the winter, people wake up in the dark, go to school in the dark, work in the dark, and arrive home in the dark. And in the financial sector, it’s an additional hour’s difference from NY and London, and further increases the work day. Ironically, under pressure from the Olympics and TV, (billions) they might change to daylight savings.
I understood that, Lloyd. I wasnt being a jackass. I knew you were referring calls like that… to the “pansification” of the sport, or penalties being called for minimal to no contact.
My point is, that will never have any effect on the health of the sport. Fans are stupid.
Stay tuned for my next essay on French New Guinea.
again, that’s not at all what my point was
Ray Lewis must have got an injunction successfully filed for E3’s posts.
Then I missed the point entirely. I have no idea, aside from the lockouts and possible canceled seasons, that would hurt the long-term viability of the league.
coos – going to discuss the magical cava drink?
the people making decisions intended to better the league don’t know what they’re doing and are actually ruining the league
LOL Mention that Malay Archipelago and I feel a thrill going up my leg, like Chris Matthews. Now I know E3 will be back, and he’ll be defending Chris Matthews. Hi, E3.
Nope. stepan is not one of the scared ones. Those were 22, 10, 4 & 19.
I really hope the Boyle on this team’s ass has been removed permanently, though that’s just wishful hoping. The big, dumb klutz, the baby poo soft, lumbering ape. The slick-haired, talent-less meathead.
Slick haired is all you got right in that diatribe, Tik
Boyle’s got a dozen brothers and sisters. Imagine his phone? “What’s wrong, what’s wrong?” NOTHING, NOTHING!
“The coach said I’ve done squat this year. I need a shoulder to lean my meek 6’7 250lb frame on and cry about the Patriots, I mean my benching”
Boyle is slow, lumbering and soft so that’s at least 4 things right
Ah, now I get the full picture – the Pats!
He’s big, he’s talent-less. Dumb, klutz, and meathead are just added for effect.
was Tiki on the WFAN?
saw this tweet and thought of him:
@jessespector
WFAN caller says Mets should be wary of getting Jacoby Ellsbury because Jason Bay came from the Red Sox. Okey dokey.
Carp
Stepan must be “scared” to shoot the puck
passed up chances
on 2 rushes in 1st period
did you hear me yelling from Ohio?
Stepan is scared to death, I don’t care what numbers you post
Funny. Yanks were lucky they didn’t get that big lumbering softie Ted Williams with that 310 foot right field porch.
Being afraid to make a mistake is a terrible bear on your back if you’re playing a reaction sport, especially one so fast as hockey.
I’m HOPING that’s Step’s problem. Confidence. Who knows?
you see when he was about 8’ from the goal mouth and decided to flip a shoulder-high pass to Hagelin? dude is brimming with confidence.
The selfish guy who wouldnt alter his approach at the plate and swing the bat more often despite being the only threat in the lineup. The guy who batted .200 in the World Series. The guy with deservedly 0 World Series rings and frozen head that’s been beaten in with a monkey wrench. Thank God they never got him :)
I know. It seems obvious. I don’t know if playing under Torts helps. But, he does give him ice.
Good old Tiki. Too bad our politicians don’t end their vituperative exclamations with a happy face. Everyone could laugh and move on and get something done.
Nothing bitter or exclamatory. Just facts.
maybe Stepan needs a visit from his girlfriend
and
we’ll find a more relaxed player
in the next game
Prust sayin’
re: Ted Williams
Ted Williams was an active player for 19 seasons (he missed 1943-45 due to WWII). The Red Sox won 1 AL pennant wherein Ted Williams batted .200 and drove in 1 RBI because he can’t handle the shift. In those 19 season, the Yankees won 14 AL titles and 10 world series. Suffice it to say, they managed to get by without him.
stepan the bum 22 year old. played a nice game tonight, killed penalties with cally, and did just fine…....
pileing on a 2nd round pick, 22 year old, with over 100 points in his short career is moronic…
I don’t really seeing anybody “pileing on” just more pointing out that he doesn’t look very good right now
Are you plagiarizing Joe Friday? “This is the City. Los Angeles, California. Ladies and gentlemen, The story you are about to hear is true. Only the names have been changed…
stepan will be 23 in june. has 5 points in 10 games. he has looked fine.
complain about boyle or how about nash… what has nash done? not much.. even tonight, not much… and took another crappy penalty and makes $5 mill more then Stepan….
Any time I feel down, I just look back at this article. Cheers me up every time. I only wish I was the one that could’ve monkey wrenched it!
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/02/ted-williams-severed-head_n_307472.html
“Just the facts, maam”
Agreed Lloyd, he doesnt look very good right now. But he’ll be fine.
Nash also had a goal that was short whistled.
you’re being dishonest if you think Stepan has looked like an impact player so far. that doesn’t mean he can’t improve and won’t play better later on, but if you’re trying to claim he’s been effective in these 10 games, I’m not going to say you’re not paying much attention.
What’d they do with Mickey’s head, bury it under the beer tap, Central Park South? :-)
going to say you’re not paying much attention…
I like Stepan a lot, actually…what I don’t like is the complete lack of physicality in his game right now. He looks intimidated and soft, far too easy to move off the puck, and this has inhibited his ability to play-make. Guy needs to get that stuff sorted out.
If he’s not scoring, he has to start throwing some big checks to wake himself up. He’s not exactly a munchkin.
besides a few flashes of spectacular play nash has been a huge dissapointment. again given up 3 goals just by being soft in the d zone, misses the net a ton on his shots and moves and has scored 2 goals….
but whine about stepan because he is not a fast skater. the guy was on the #1 PK unit tonight, but you know more then Torts….
nash was on the Pk the other day when he let a puck at his skates get whacked in by 23 who makes about $4 mill less a year then him….
stepan, hagelin, miller, kreider, mcdonagh, these guys are kids…...none over 23 yeras old….nash in his 8th year or so..nash and gabby float plain and simple, nash has the ability to dominate. that means dominate all the time, not when he feels like it…....
cooscoos:
Rangers list him at 6’, 196; they may be padding those numbers a bit. In any event, he’s certainly a lot bigger than how he’s been playing would suggest.
i’m not saying that Stepan
has become a complete pile
but
he needs to
stop his fear of shooting the puck
again
twice he had very good chances
the first of which
could have led to rebound
for the person on his right
just pointing that aspect of his game
that needs to improve
period
Nash was needed to score at Columbus, always has put up big minus/plus minuses. Here, he’s playing with much more talent, and in a new system with Torts who despises one way players, but (grudgingly) puts up with one or two if they give him LARGE, consistent goals. I think Nash will eventually fit in. With everything else clicking, he should prove useful. IMHO
Lloyd – now there’s an example of a player who I thought was larger. Go figure. Phil Simms I always thought was undersized, but he was listed at 6’3. Guess it’s who you’re standing next to.
I love it.
Excellent win.
Total shutout on the penalty kill.
Powerplay goal.
Secondary scoring.
Hank with a great game.
Rookies making huge contributions.
Bu that Stepan, man he is killing us.
Here’s Rick Nash’s numbers after first 10 games of every season he’s played:
02-03: 1 goal, 3 assists, 4 points
03-04: 8 goals, 1 assist, 9 points
05-06: 4 goals, 1 assist, 5 points
06-07: 3 goals, 5 assists, 8 points
07-08: 8 goals, 5 assists, 13 points
08-09: 5 goals, 1 assist, 6 points
09-10: 6 goals, 9 assists, 15 points
10-11: 3 goals, 2 assists, 5 points
11-12: 3 goals, 5 assists, 8 points
12-13: 2 goals, 5 assists, 7 points
so yeah, I wouldn’t start to panic just yet
Lloyd, I am not sticking up for Stepan by any stretch or defending the way he’s played or whatever … I’m just telling you fact. The four players at whom the “scared/tentative” remark was aimed were 22, 10, 4, 19. It was not aimed at Stepan. I have that confirmed.
Young NHL Hockey players who come up (and can skate) and over a body of work play big, usually do well. Other sports, like baseball, football, etc, they eventually find your weakness and exploit it.
ok so now the real question: what happened in Buffalo with Avery?
Come see me at one of the games and I can whisper it to you :)
new post.
If confidence is the big thing that Stepan right now lacks, and it seems so, since Tortorella keeps playing him, that can be corrected with some success. He obviously has the coach’s vote, so we’re harder on him than the hierarchy is.
It’s available on the net, Lloyd. Not the whole story, maybe? but…what’s there is there. Carp probably has the real skinny.
NEW POST Where’s Manny when you need him?
