Also want to take this opportunity to thank all of youse for being here all the time, for making this place what it is (which is, um, indescribable).
And once we get hockey back—opening night Jan. 19 or 20—here’s hoping that a lot of our regulars who have understandably been away during this idiotic lockout will come back in droves. I will count on you all to spread the gospel and make the traffic go crazy again so that they will send me to a lot of games and let me spend a lot of time doing this instead of my “other” job.
Enough of that. Enjoy, have fun, be safe.

NYP_BrooksieNBA cap remained same 1st 2 yrs after lockout. NFL cap declined 6.25% Yr 1. NHL insisting on 14.53%. League loves to punish those who spend.Hagelin is a goon, Carp. He has to look tough.
Who likes to spend? Dolan and the Rangers. Who doesn’t like to spend? Jacobs and the Bruins.

The Rangers will go from cap flexibility under the old CBA to being cap strangled with the new CBA. I’d rather see the NHLPA take a stand and force a canceled season than see our Rangers once again stuck behind the 8 ball.

There just has to be a better way to roll a cap back. Why not incremental adjustments? Why not just calm down and think it through without destroying what took teams years to build and get to. The genius of the Nash trade was that it left us enough room to re-sign a lot of our younger players in the coming seasons. That’s all been thrown down the tubes.
What about our junior teams chances tomorrow against the Canadians? Is anyone getting up to watch that at 4am? Perhaps Bettiman and fear should watch it as well? Remind them of the reason the game is played?
