what kind of a dog does Torts own? Probably a chihuahua… they’re small and bark a lot :)
Silver!!! for walking the dog :)
kausatodayRed Wings have canceled their prospect tournament because of the possible lockout.GREAT
i believe so, Sioux. Ask ilb or one of our CBA experts.

Back in eretz Israel!! Petra is nice…. but i wouldnt take a trip to the Middle East to only go and see Petra. A cool 46 celsius in Eilat today btw.
saw that play by Cano. IMO that was all on the 3B coach. He’s usually very aggressive and if he isnt sending him with his arms waving all over the place, Cano did the right thing and played it safe. And i think Robbie Thompson is a great 3B coach. I like his style. But he wasnt sure himself on the play, Cano with his back to the play and already going 1st to 3rd, cannot be blamed. Yanks took 3 of 4. Im pleased. Oh, and if anyone is going to Petra any time soon…..i do suggest taking one of the thousands of donkeys, horses, or camels that the bedouins offer you. I did not.
Well put, Lev. I agree that Robbie is great. Plenty of people were completely fooled today by the sun. Including John Sterling who didn’t know what was happening on each play (as usual).
“Susan I honestly thought that Jones caught that ball…..”
“Score, Score! Oh, Oh, what a goal, Susan! Rupp Erupts! Supper’s on the Rupper.”
“That puck didn’t go in, John.”
“Oh. Sure looked like a goal from up here.”
The player on their Entry level deal would be : Kreider, Hagelin, Stepan, McDonagh.
Would Bickel & Sauer still be able to play for the Whale?
Sauer Bickels don’t go with Beluga.
Cccp, you had the best line of the day with ur Torts and chihuahua.
Manny, i promise u, he doesnt do bat flips. He doesnt show up the opponents,
I wouldnt know how to quantify Thomson’s value as 3B coach, thats up to the stat geeks to figure out. But ive long disliked him for getting runners thrown out at home in stupid situations (like with nobody out) and then getting gunshy the next time and holding Ichiro at 3rd with 2 outs when he would have scored easily.
Wow! That ball is not only gone, it’s in orbit! Waaaay out of here. One of the longest homers we’ve seen so far in this ballpark, Susan. Oh, pardon me. That ball was caught. Jeter makes the play on the outfield grass. What threw me off for a second, Andruw Jones looked like he turned his back on that play and was looking up. Make that 6 unassisted.
Depressing about Traverse City…really sucks…
I bet there’s not one type of mutt or mongrel I haven’t run across. If you ask me they have no business living amongst us. Vile, useless beasts…
soocsooc, er sucksuck,
are you on a parrot’s training Program?
Don’t be bitter; reconsider.
Off-topic but Kovalev says he wants to return to the NHL, imo wouldn’t be a bad depth signing if he can be gotten on the cheap for 1 year deal.
Torts+Kovalev=not happening
bitter my gall,...just asking, more laughing than anything else.
Kovalev actually thrived under coaches who were considered tough on players Mike Keenan, Kevin Constantine, Herb Brooks… I don’t think it would be a problem. Kovalev is the kind of player that likes to be pushed.
Kovalev couldn’t even play in mediocre KHL team, fuggetaboutit.
If anything for cheap rental, I would consider Sykora or Arnott (in this order).
‘92 preseason, the Rangers brought the talented and frisky Kovalev in as the first Russian first rounder. In an early scrimmage, he high sticked and boarded Ranger enforcer Joey Kocur who knew he couldn’t touch the new golden boy. Since Kovalev could barely speak English, and traveled with a translator, Kocur asked to speak to the translator and told him to explain to Kovalev who he was and what his (Kocur’s) job was, and that if he ever so much as skated even close to him again in practice, he would be sent back to the Kremlin in two separate boxes.
This is a “Myths and Legends of ancient Greece”…same probable occurrence. Source, Rod, er coossooc, Source?!
OK, Torts+39-year-old away from the NHL for a year Kovalev=not happening
Did we sign doan yet?
Season cancelled yet?

Etc, etc
Now off to take a bettman
Wow, no Traverse City. It’s horrendous that a professional league’s problems are affecting an annual PROSPECT tournament. After last year’s coverage of the tournament by the NHL Network (courtesy of MSG), I was REALLY looking forward to that again. Lame. No NHL hockey down here in South Florida means no hockey at all, anywhere. I’m not driving hours to see the “Florida Everblades”, whatever the hell an Everblade is (Yes I know it’s a play on words).
Unfortunately I’m a NY fan through and through so I have no interest in seeing the (crappy) Marlins or the (crappy) Dolphins. Considering they’re in totally different divisions/conferences/leagues from all of my teams, there’s rarely a reason to see them at all. I wish I was a basketball fan because even while the Knicks flounder at least I could have the possibility of seeing them live (against the (ugh) Heat) and, with the exact same number of games as the NHL, could cover my empty sports nights during the fall and winter seasons. South Florida sports suck. lol
This is a “hangover” from Carp’s last post – I much preferred it when the Ranger radio broadcasts were carried on WFAN – at least we didn’t have Devil fans masquerading as Ranger broadcasters when they were on The Fan.
Hi Jimbo, who’s a Devils fan on the Rangers’ radio … LaGreca?
lmgo, kovalev.
fwiw
here’s a couple of pics of Torts with canine companions.
surprise!!
one of ‘em is a pitbull terrier!
(but i’ve heard from many that they are wonderful pets when not trained to be
aggressive fighters.)

If you can remove the big fork out of Kovalev’s back then give him a tryout.

TOTALLY, E3! They were the absolute best radio broadcast team!
Ive gotta drop a Bettman for the first time in 5 days. Been holding it in bc i dont want hemorrhoids and cant afford the gastroenterologist!
Could anyone imagine how much money Michael Jordan could have made (and subsequently gambled away) had he played in this era, with less defense and more frequent referee intervention – and if there was no salary cap. There’s no greater competitor than Jordan, nobody wanted to win more than him. He possibly couldve pocketed upwards of $50M annually.
I’m like the fan version of Jordan. Where’s my pay?! ;)
There’s an old joke that went around in his days at North Carolina that the only person alive who could keep him under 20 points was Dean Smith (by sitting him). His pro career (and many others’) was aided immeasurably by the league allowing blatant traveling because of fan interest, just like the juiced baseballs at the time, for homers. Remember the days when you had to plant your pivot foot? Nonetheless, he dominated.
