NEW YORK (May 22, 2012) – The National Hockey League announced today the schedule for the 2012 Stanley Cup Final.

Based on their superior regular-season point totals, either the New York Rangers or the New Jersey Devils will host Games One and Two of the best-of-seven Final, as well as Games Five and Seven.  Games Three and Four will be hosted by the Western Conference champion, either the Phoenix Coyotes or the Los Angeles Kings, as well as Game Six.

In the U.S., NBC will broadcast Games One and Two and, if necessary, Games Five through Seven of the Final, while NBC Sports Network will telecast Games Three and Four.  In Canada, CBC and RDS will televise the entire series.  All games also will be carried on Sirius XM Satellite Radio.

  1. Don’t know what you’ve read or where you read it, but when Tortorella told them to get off the ice, it was in a very positive tone … he liked the way they went through a quick workout, felt they moved past whatever they were feeling off Game 4, and didn’t need them to show him anymore.

It ABSOLUTELY WAS NOT done in anger, or because he was unhappy with anything.

    Just sayin’.

  2. i wouldn’t be surprised if the Kings fly east several days before first game

no matter who wins this series they’re the home team for finals, yes?

  3. nicely put Carp

now can that be copied and pasted for
puck daddy, all the other devils writers
    and
    all of Canadian media?

(aka all those in media cheering for the devils)

  4. Hmm, yes, I would have to say that the momentum from the last blog post has definitely carried over into this blog post, as often happens. Interesting phenomenon, isnt it, Carp?

  5. the schedule looks to be tailored to NBC not having to interrupt their primetime crap too much. only 3 weeknights on NBC. and I’ll bet no pregame show on NBC either, just on the cable nets

  6. What no 1:00 Saturday game on June 9th? I was hoping that the NYC NBC affiliate would do 4 hours of Belmont pre race so people in their viewing area COULD NOT WATCH THE GAME.

Yes this happened in Baltimore. WBAL in Baltimore did coverage of the preakness from 1:00 till 6:30 where they compared hats, did tarot card readings, showed the weather, and all the drunks in the infield.

I was all over the WBAL facebook page as were many other Rangers and Devils fans in the area. The only explanation we got was National NBC would not allow them to air the game on their other station, WBAL+. Luckily I have a slingbox set up in the NYC area so I was able to watch the game, but i was furious.

I wonder if that would have happened if the Capitals were still in it.

  7. czechthemout!!!! on

I was relaying what Dan Rosen tweeted. Thanks for setting it straight. Certainly better news than what Rosen wrote.
