Yes, Latona. I read that they’ve proposed making full out dives to block a shot a penalty (things that guys like Girardi are very good at). They’d make it a necessity to keep at least one skate on the ice at all times. I dont understand that at all. There’s a reason why defensive systems are much more successful than offensive nowadays. Stop trying to ruin the game by making the scores higher just to draw “fans” that like to see high-scoring games.
I say go the other way….allow 2 goaltenders for each team…....reduce scoring….make games close…..tremendous excitement
wait, we have one guy championing 2 goalies for each team, and one that wants the goalie pulled at the starts of games? you guys run the gamut of hilariousness

Jorek, I did read it on a caps blog this morning. I didn’t know that bob Mackenzie had talked about it too. But the caps fans were serious about it. What is most laughable about it is that that kind of play is what allowed them to beat the bruins and push the rangers to 7 games. Sour grapes, I guess.

LOL LW! I don’t understand why they think high scoring will equal more popular . . I mean soccer is as low scoring as they get and most the world loves it! I hate the NBA because it is just a score fest with no defense . . run up the court shot score run down the court shot score and so on and so on until time runs out . . .is that really what they want?

Yea its just sour grapes. Like its been said the Craps blocked more shots than the Rangers. I think you also have to look at the fans there in DC too. Probably a lot of bandwagoners for Ovi, like Sid, and they just want to jump around with ovi and the team when they score.
I think goalies and goals should be disallowed…..in fact, I think they should put on sparkly costumes and figure skates and let the judges decide….

Actually, if you tip the goal over so the front is on the ice, then play that everyone has to shoot it into the top of the net, without hitting any iron, which is tougher. But then blocks might go up.

Thanks, Carp. I figured he was upset about how many reporters were there. I was surprised to hear that Torts wants the red line reinstated for purposes of the two-line pass being whistled. Hopefully, someone can ask him more about that at an appropriate time in the offseason.
