Killing time before Game 7

Got nothing for you at the moment. This morning Brandon Dubinsky was walking around without his boot, but that doesn’t mean he’s close to returning. Mats Zuccarello’s not imminently close, either.

So, as you kill time before Game 7 on this beautiful Mother’s Day Eve, I’ve got some reading material for you.

Here’s my story from The Journal News and today.

And because my mind doesn’t work the way it used to work (especially when I’m tired like this), I forgot to post yesterday’s story. So here that is, too.

Josh Thomson, 26, and I will be here all night (and hopefully not into the morning) with youse.

Kenny Albert

Last time @thenyrangers played on Mother’s Day weekend: Adam Graves OT goal at Meadowlands 5/11/97 sends NYR to Eastern Conference Finals.

  2. Doodie Machetto on

Carp, that Kenny Albert stat just adds to my list of reasons the Rangers will lose.

  3. Blogmama Go Tony!!! on

Gotta run all…..hartnell! Stay positive! LGR!!!…..wake up Carp!!!!! Go Josh!

  4. Didn’t work for game 6 but I’ll say it again – Need to bring the jam tonight!

  5. LOL Carp got Carp’d?

Why does Josh get a 26 (I assume his age- youngin) after his name?

  6. hey what ever is up with Dubi’s foot?

    Haven’t heard anything …

Also – anybody see Mike Sauer at all?? Hope he’s doing better.

  7. septemous, really? haven’t heard? He’s been on crutches and a boot since Game 7 of the Ottawa series. Been written here and everywhere every day. Today the boot came off.

No, Mike Sauer’s not around at all.

  8. Jorek, in the olden days of the blog, my bio and Josh’s bio were down the right side … and Josh’s said he was 26 for a bunch of years … hence, Josh, 26.

  9. iDoodie machetto: get well Tony on

It has said is Josh 26 from back in the Sam days.

Carp, thanks for everything this year. Should be a very interesting offseason.

  10. Starts in a couple of weeks or so, Doodie.

johnny, no thank you, got a panini at that awesome spot in the corner on the lower level at Grand Central. So I’m good. I’m in the pressroom working … and will be chowing in a bit.

  11. LOL Sally I was about to say the same thing . . .and I just popped open a coors

  12. Doodie Machetto on

When I don’t shave I get a big neckbeard, so I can identify with Holtby. In fact, my chest hair migrates pretty far north, so if I don’t shave for a few days you can’t tell where my chest stops and my beard begins.

Carp, both you and the Rangers should be on the golf course very soon.

  13. Did someone say beer? I have my pibbers from stop and shop and two growlers of ipa from beer necessities. Which route shall I go down?

  14. I know I’m on my own here, but I *love* neckbeards. I don’t understand the underchin/neck shaving thing.

Can people please start a “Neeeeeckbeeeeaaaard! Neeeeeckbeeeeaaaard!” chant when he gives one up?

  15. I love new ro! Just finished a half a plate of buffalo dip and a smokehouse burger from…. You guessed it the smokehouse where during every game it’s 8 dollar pitchers and unlimited wings for 10. Ranger hockey baby!!! I am so pumped!!! Go Greg L! Don’t Stepan the logo!!

  16. ewwwww Sally . . . .I find the neckbeard to be a huge turnoff (other than the neckbeard he is an attractive young man) . . . .

  17. Boston sucks tiki! These clowns will lose to the Jamaican bobsleigh team Miami! Trade everybody doodie! I am not a ranger fan carp! It’s Tony season! Let’s go get em!!!

  18. North avenue new Rochelle! E3 bust some ranger rhymes! We are all bruthas and sistuhs!

  19. Evening all,

Been awhile since I posted here – but wanted to wish everyone good luck for tonight.

I think the first goal is huge in this game – Rangers get on the board first – and the crowd is engaged and perhaps Holtby gets a bit rattled.

Caps get on the board first – and perhaps doubt begins to creep in just a bit.

Throw pucks at #70 from everywhere.

Enough Carcillo on the wall and something is bound to stick.

    ‘Nuff said.

  20. Johnny LaRue on

Carp, do you sit around the press room in your boxers so your pants will keep their crease for game time?

  21. I am sooooooooooooo nervous and this next hour is going to be so slooooooooowwwwwwww

  22. thank you carp for your “the rangers will win” prediction earlier. it helped my nerves. i hope ur right buddy

  23. onecupin72yearsandcounting on

    Doodie picked the caps.
I picked NYR in 5 then four when they won the first game.. think I would know better.

  24. UNLEASH THE KREIDER. Or, you know, the kracken, cause that would be amazing. From up under the ice.

  25. I have played one round of golf since October and I just know these clutterbuckers aren’t going to let me play for a few more weeks.

    RANGERS IN 7!!!!!!!!!!!

  27. Does anyone know if there is a way to synch the Rangers radio broadcast streamed over the computer with the TV broadcast?????

The thought of listening to Doc is making me wretch…

  28. Thought you guys might like to know … in S.I. this week, the great Michael Farber writes about two of your favorite topics … the Russian player stereotype, and a little feature on true professional Doc Emrick.

  29. Carp, just got back from playing three straight days first time since Oct as well. Didn’t know how much I missed it. Hope the Caps are playing down here by me shortly. 3-2 Rangers win

  30. Rob in Beantown on

I hope whoever wins this one wins it in regulation. I don’t think I can do overtime. LGR!
