IN-KREID-IBLE
Rangers rookie Chris Kreider notched his first goal at Madison Square Garden with the game-winner, and added his first career assist in Game 1. He became the youngest Rangers player to record two points in a playoff game since Niklas Sundstrom on May 11, 1996, and the first Blueshirt rookie to register a multi-point effort in the postseason since Brandon Dubinsky on May 1, 2008. Kreider is tied for first in the NHL with two game-winning goals in the playoffs, and is the first New York rookie to register two game-winning goals in the postseason since Mike Allison in the 1981 playoffs.
THE PUCK STOPS HERE
Henrik Lundqvist has held opponents to two or fewer goals in eight of 12 games this postseason, including five games in which he has held opponents to one goal or less. He has allowed 14 goals total in the last eight games, posting a 5-3 record with a 1.58 GAA and .935 Sv% over the span.

Henrik Lundqvist has posted 30 or more saves in the playoffs 14 times, posting a 7-7 record with a 1.69 GAA, .948 Sv% and two shutouts in those contests.

lol LW, nicely done. Euro pansy!
Yo, Miami, I’m not too far from you right now and I have to say your state is totally bush-league with severe mickey-mouse tendencies. Prust sayin’...
Happy International VinceA Day Boneheads!
Special greetings to LW!
Down with Europansies!!!!!!
Great job LW! I can’t wait to punch any,
And all, europansy foreigners.
Let’s invade Europe! U-S-A!
LMAO, LW! Are we, Europansies, supposed to unite on this day? Or is it supposed to be the date when everyone on the blog gives us the “bussiness”? And do you, by any chance, have his ( VinceA’s) historic rant from that day?
Hank can’t get it done and has no glove. Put in Biron! Who’s with me?
Good Morning Boys. Game day time to put the Caps away!!!
Rob, a little early for drinking, no?
LETS GO RANGERS!!!!
billy, maybe Bryzgolov is available now? can we trade for him?
Put John Scott in goal with Garth Snow’s old pads. No room to shoot.
Nothing more to say but:
LGR!!!!
LGR!!!!
LGR!!!!
LGR!!!!
Please spare a moment today to consider the true meaning of VinceA Day – so often forgotten in today’s commercialised world – as demonstrated by the powerful and emotional words of the founder of this great celebration:
“I wish the Rangers would only sign and draft Americans and Canadian kids. The work ethic of most europeans sucks and they are usually Pansies on the ice. I’ll take north Americans any day?”
And please also spare a moment of solemn reflection for the sacrifice Ethan Werek made for the cause on 8 May 2011. RIP.
Yep what was that Frank Sinatra song “It’s now or
never”....or was it Frankie Laine?.....or Perry Como?
...not Pat Boone….eh…......what bothers me most today is that we have severe Thunderstorms forecast for this late afternoon and evening, and I know what happens to the TV under those conditions,,fuggedfaboudid…I’ve already been hit with Lightning this year, lost all electronics, and got bounced 6 inches out of my chair..4 consequetive forks of bolts and explosions like a mortar barrage….I don’t need that again…even knocked out the innards of my hot water heater. Rap it up quick Rangers.
Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry will be leading a service of remembrance and holding a candlelight vigil at a small-to-medium number of Helsinki nightclubs throughout the next 24 hours.
sure Rob, get that bag of pucks, and in turn, we can keep Bryz around as the court-jester…
ha. Seriously though, at least wait until lunch before hitting the bottle, bro.
Close this thing out tonight, boys! Let’s get it done!
Let’s Go RANGERS!!
Morning ILB, Tony, VinceA, and all!!
Steps in the right direction tony, AWESOME!!!
Happy Birthday CCCP!!!
Happy VinceA day to everyone (especially LW and Manny), so to celebrate let’s all go out and burn down some INS buildings or something!!!
off to work, LGR, LGT, and LGVAD!!!!
Thanks for posting that, LW. That really makes me think.
“Visors are for Europeans and Soft Guys” – Tanner Glass
One shift one period one game. Get it done. No bad pen early weather the storm and let game settle in. From there let big game brad and the king take us home.
That said game 7 in all likeliness
I would call this a ‘Must-Win’ game tonight where the Rangers can capitalize on the momentum they’ve gained from an OT thriller.
Oh wait, this isn’t BarryMelroseNoseHockey.com?
Good day all!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CCCP!!!!
Happy day of your birth
CCCP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Don’t forget about VinceA!
Does anybody think that the Vezina trophy will somewhat be judged also on the performance of the playoffs even though they say its just regular season?
“To the U.S.A. Commander of the encircled town of Bastogne.”
“The fortune of war is changing. This time the U.S.A. forces in and near Bastogne have been encircled by strong German armored units. More German armored units have crossed the river Our near Ortheuville, have taken Marche and reached St. Hubert by passing through Hompre-Sibret-Tillet. Libramont is in German hands.”
“There is only one possibility to save the encircled U.S.A. troops from total annihilation: that is the honorable surrender of the encircled town. In order to think it over a term of two hours will be granted beginning with the presentation of this note.”
“If this proposal should be rejected one German Artillery Corps and six heavy A. A. Battalions are ready to annihilate the U.S.A. troops in and near Bastogne. The order for firing will be given immediately after this two hours’ term.”
“All the serious civilian losses caused by this artillery fire would not correspond with the well known American humanity.”

Kenny Albert,
The ballots are already cast. The NHL knows the winner, they just wait to announce it. Even if they wanted to taint the vote with playoffs performance, they can’t.
Thanks True
You rule, Kenny.
Please call the game tonight.
Thanks!
Good morning, Sally!
Happy 26th, C3!
cgiacomo, and pigs flying.
Do you guys think Don Cherry and Mike Milbury celebrate this new holiday?
Have a nice day all you Europansies.
What time does the Knick game start?
it is on the Rangers’ radio station, too.
Rangers’ Game 6 potential second-round clincher gets bumped for Knicks being eliminated in five in the first round.
Well, at least you still got the boneheads on your side!
lets not burn down the ins buildings…..just go in them and carkner all the europansies you see while cheering “USA! USA! USA!”
Yea Joekuh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That’s the spirit!
Carkner the Europansies!
U-S-A!!! U-S-A!!! U-S-A!!! U-S-A!!! U-S-A!!! U-S-A!!!
Happy 26th CCCP, free coat checks for everyone.
Good morning all! A very happy 26th birthday to C3!!!!! So, the center of the universe is now on the golf course. Whee!!!! LGR!!
Anybody know why none of the playoff games have been on the MSG channel? I don’t get it. It leaves the Rangers’ fans who only have basic cable out in the dark and it’s not fair.
Don Cherry will be smothering all members of the Samuelsson family with a Canadian flag later this evening in a private ceremony.
Milbury will be joined by Brendan Witt in burning 12,000 Volvos in the Nassau Coliseum parking lot throughout the day.
TV rights were granted to NBC and their affirmed networks for the 2nd round and beyond.
Milbury will be joined by Brendan Witt and Wicky in burning 12,000 Volvos in the Nassau Coliseum parking lot throughout the day.
****
Fixed.
youse guys are killin’ me today. thanks for the laughs! XD
How bout Francessa jumping on the bandwagon – talk about the load being full now…
In listening to Joe M. on the radio and TV, he is much better in studio or doing interviews then doing color for the games with Joe, unless you like talk of wonky groins and big thighs. Given time, can discuss the games with some clarity. Seems like a nice guy too.
Must be tough to crack that all star line-up of Milbury (meat head), JR (mush brain) and Farmer Jones. Never thought Jones could look so good, but in comparison, it is hard not to.
The two clowns Benigno and Roberts started their show talking about hockey for about two minutes, did their first commercial, and it’s been nothing but Knicks ever since. I actually remember when Benigno used to talk hockey a lot. Then he moved to daytime and suddenly basketball was his favorite sport.
Lloyd, Benigno was there Monday night. In fact he stepped over my brief case in order to get out of section 223. After tonight, NY basketball will go dark and titleless for the 39th consecutive year
To all of the folks jumping ship when the game is tied, crying in their milk and cookies, I give you this: It is a treat and a pleasure to finally watch a TEAM. for the past 15 years (after the 97 run), I’ve been watching playoff series with amazing thrilling games and remember thinking “it sure would be nice to see the Rangers play like this. It would be nice to have a real team to root for instead of just rooting for the jersey.”
This is a team to root for. sure, these games are a little stressful, but this is a team that just never seems like they are out of it. Both JD and Milbury called this series “real hockey.” There you go.
stevezipayRefs tonight in DC: Dan O’Halloran and Wes McCauleySounds like a bunch of Europansies!
what is this bas-ket-ball?
Mike Francesa doesn’t want you to know he eats ice cream!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0I1W_JdJu-8
Davola – great post – something else to consider – there has been none of the BS the Sens pulled (and refs allowed). Hunter and Caps have done themselves and the league proud by playing hockey the right way for the most part. Much easier to watch with family.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=zyaogMUduAw
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo
Zipay is annoying and a little terse with people who challenge him on different points
McCauley and o halloran last of six pairs for 2nd round. Had to have them Tonite. Only pair left we didn’t have.
What will be interesting who they pick for game 7. Will break up a current pair. Figuring walkom is one for sure
Capitals are getting away with plenty of crap in this series. Also, I’m not about to start saluting anything Dale Hunter’s associated with.
Win one for the Boyler!
Eric, focus on tonight, worry about Game 7, if necessary tomorrow. Look at the glass half-full, you will live longer….
Game 7? There won’t be a game 7!
Happy game day from Europansy land kids!
LGR!
wall to wall Met talk now from Mr. and Mrs. Met on WFAN
interesting how these idiots went from proclaiming this a dead season a month ago to now talking like they’ve got the word by the balls because their crappy team is four games over .500 after 30 games.
try talking about hockey
The Mets have never had a player hit 4 Home-Runs in one game.

Lloyd – Had the Islandorks made it to the post or been sold by now and moved to KC Joey Fingers and Evan Proberts would be talking Hockey. Possibly. Unless there was a Bruce Sprinsteen show in town.
Messiah, is that what you are writing on the boys dry erase board tonight?
Benigno used to claim he was Mr. Ranger until the franchise went into the toilet (and he got a job in daylight). Keep in mind the Knicks went into the toilet and that didn’t seem to impact his ability to talk about them very much.
Few things turn my stomach more than casual Met talk
I guess Voracek was right. The Rangers won’t beat the Flyers 10 times this season. Bwahahhaah.
You can bet the Debbies are rooting for the Caps right now for 2 reasons:
Home Ice advantage and the number of Rangers fans who fill the empty seats.
If i were them i’d be worried about getting the Rangers, Fatso may be able to outplay Ilya Brzgoalagainst but no chance he outplays The King
Thank you, guys!! I am extremely proud to share my birthday with Interpansyonal Europansy VinceA day! They should make it a Federal Holiday and we should all get a day off!!
AMEN,
CCCPA day off on which to punch, belittle and tease Europansies everywhere!
LET’S GO RANGERS!
Lets end it tonight. If so when would they start the next series? Cannot be either afternoon (sat or Sun) as NBC has the players tourney and that is a big deal/ratings for them. So Sunday Night???

The details when commenting are just required to verify the poster’s nationality on the Europansy Database. Nothing to be alarmed about

Is confidence key to winning tonight? It seems like our boys play best under desperation and pressure. Confidence is not their game.
Big test for the team?
7 hours to go. This day cant go any slower!!!!
I’m at an IT conference, maybe somebody here can fix the site… but it is lunch, and nerds need to eat…

I’ve notified my tech guys … what exactly is the problem? do you need to sign in? or do you just need to re-enter your screen name, email address, etc., every time? Need specifics.
Doesn’t help that the wireless on the Amtrak is like dial-up. Slower than a John Scott breakaway.
Carp:
You have to re-enter your name and email address each time you attempt to post something.
Thanks, Yev. Soup for you.

This state is absolute garbage. Amateur-hour-inducing garbage at that. Don’t worry, I know.
Where are you exactly?
CA, I had a dream they lost too. 3-1! Joel Ward scored the third goal right before they had a chance to pull Hanky Panky. Only difference was, it was game 7. Horrible dream!!
What have these IT CLOWNS done now?
Or not done … have they still not stopped using Flash for the embedded audio? (CARP, please do something about this)
Happy Birthday CCCP to you and to your siamese twin.. who’s older btw ?
Yeah ORR, terrible dream. They played all three periods on the ice and then OT in a business parking lot. Some fan said the Devils should show the Rangers how to close it out. The horror!
Were gonna lose
“Good morning. Good morning.
In less than 6 hours, fans from here will join others from around the world, and we will be launching one of the largest hockey battles in the history of the franchise. Franchise, that word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can’t be consumed by our petty past any more. We will be united in our common interest. Perhaps it’s fate that today is the 9th of May, and we will once again be fighting for the Finals. Not from Ottawa, The Islanders, or Pittsburgh, but from Washington. We’re fighting for our right to move on, to exist and should we win the day, the 9th of May will no longer be known as a Golf Day, but as the day when the Rangers declared in one voice, ‘We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We’re going to live on, we’re going to survive.’ Today we celebrate our trip to the EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS!”
BRING ON THE DEVILS – I AINT AFRAID OF ANY MAN WHO IS A FATHER AND AN UNCLE TO THE SAME KID.
Of course i am older, Onecup! And thanks for the wishes!
Thank you, Julie!
Stole this picture from someone on facebook! Hilarious!

Double entering smacks of a Europansy conspiracy
Are there any rumors out there as to when the Conf. Finals would start?
Never had such a good time in my life before
I’d like to have it one time more
One good ride from start to end
I’d like to take that ride again
Again!

2012 is the new’94. Let’s go Rangers!
FORK THE DEVILS
LGR
2+0+1+2 = 5, as in the team’s 5th Stanley Cup?
WE WILL WIN TONIGHT!!!
Because there’s no way I’ll be able to watch a Game 7 on Saturday.
Good enough reason.
I wanna see the Rangers score a quick one on Holtby. A weak one. And see just how resilient this kid is when he thinks the season is over.
1+9+9+4 = 23
20+1+2= 23
Just like 7×13 = 28. Or 28 divided by 7 is 13.
Abbott and Costello explained it to me.
MIAMI PIMP I am at a bush-league hotel called the westin diplomat in hollywood fla. what an amateur-hour operation!
WHERE ARE WE WATCHIN’ THE GAME? I’d rather not miss it even though there is some huge party here tonight…
Gooooood afternoon gang!
Happy 26th to CCCP! And happy VinceA/International Europansy day to the rest of the world!
T minus 5 hours til I meet up with Sally and we go tearing through the streets of Rochester to watch the game at as many places as possible!
Ovechkin:
Game 1: 1 SOG – Rangers win
Game 2: 7 SOG – Rangers lose
Game 3: 5 SOG – Rangers win (remember that’s almost 2 games in one)
Game 4: 4 SOG – Rangers lose
Game 5: 0 SOG – Rangers win
Contain Ovechkin and you win the game, it’s that simple…
e3
Vive Jerry and The Wheel. Just heard China Cat>I Know You Rider from Europe ‘72 and I
am pumped beyond belief for tonight
Foe everyone who had those bad dreams about Rangers losing:
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits and may your arms be too short to scratch! :-)
If ‘Heads were Spartans and Arcadians were Caps fans, this is what I might say …
http://tinyurl.com/7gkofg4
I just bought a bag of swedish fish in honor of Hank, Hags and Stralman. Here’s hoping all three have a big night!
ilb, I’ll take that over my dream coming true!
Did the rangers have an optional skate in DC today?
Hoping for a win and no game 7!! If that happens, then Sunday night vs Fatty and the Debbles. No word on DUBI? He must have a broken leg or something.
Swedish Fish!? More like Eurocandy! Boooooooooooooooooooooooooo
What about something American!? Like a steak?
YO MIAMI—
for real, email me. i am 25 minutes from miami. its: splursh
and that’s at yahoo dotcom
I might even be able to convince my boss to come along and we can watch him cry when the caps carcillo the bed at home…
Happy Birthday, Lord of War!! :-)
Manny
If I punch myself in the face does that count?
Carp
Must noogie game!!!
I can’t stop envisioning Fatso crying on MSG ice as the “MAAAAAARTY!” chants rain down as time expires in his last NHL game ever. God forgive me for thinking ahead, but man, oh man, what a moment that’d be!
Latona- :-)))))))))))
But, let’s get there first. LGR!!!!!
Wicky – if you are European then by all means commence beating yourself.
Kenny, a standard morning skate.
Dubel, he was off crutches, still wearing a boot this morning. So no.
Has the issue been resolved, re: having to type in names and email addresses every time you comment? anybody?
Not yet, Carp
NO(T) RESOLVED
Doesn’t appear to be, Carp.
LGR!
I just had to type the data in to make this post, Carp – no idea why.
If I haven’t mentioned it I blame the Europansies for this blog dilemma!
Carp, still not working properly on my end either.
Chrome 18.0.1025.151 (Developer Build 130497 Linux) Ubuntu 12.04
if that helps your IT guys…
NOT Resolved – had to scroll down to the last post, also – and the widget isn’t updating – the windows are blank—————————————————————————————————————>
Kind of gave me chills?
http://blueshirtsunited.com/videos/1502/relive-the-magic-of-game-5#bottom_tabs
Im not trying to throw a wrench in VinceA day or anything, but technically aren’t most of us in North America of the europansy brood?
Where is the cut off?
Jimbo – the widget (WASEKA) thing happens frequently.
7:30 can’t get here soon enough
Wicky – the cut off is when you decide to stand up be a damned AMERICAN! Be a man not a Europansy.
When you finally cut loose of those Europansy strings that hold you to the motherland of wussery and wimpism!
It can be a choice! NOW STOP BEING A EUROPANSY. Your post above is completely Europansy. If you have to ask….you are a EuroPansy.
U-S-A!!! U-S-A!!! U-S-A!!! U-S-A!!! U-S-A!!! U-S-A!!!
VinceA must have been way before my time – but I get the idea, I think…
Manny, if we (and especially if our parents) were born here, we cease to be europansies, regardless of our ancient ancestry. ;-D
‘The next day (Sunday), the Rangers reminded players about their “rules” of shot blocking. As one explained it, Lundqvist (and the coaches), ask that if you’re going to block, you have to stop everything low. That is your responsibility. Green’s shot got through the otherwise excellent Ryan McDonagh for the score. There are not supposed to be any holes along (or slightly above) the ice.’
—————————————
maybe Henrik ought to give some of his salary to the dmen if he expects them to do his job.
OK, Manny – thank you! I noticed that it wasn’t working, in addition to the problem with the need to type in our personal data every time we post.
I don’t have to type it in because Firefox remembers it. I just have to press the down arrow, then tab, then down arrow, then tab, then tab, then post, then tab, then return/enter.
That’s how AMERICANS do it!
A couple of years ago, Jimbo. IIRC, LW asked VinceA to do a guest post on that topic. He hasn’t been around since.
We need to keep smashing Mike Green – he doesn’t want to play when he gets hit
Aha!! Thanks, ilb – it must have been a traumatic experience for VinceA!
Manny, actually, I’m doing the same thing with my Firefox – the “drop down” window does it for me, but this is definitely something new and unwanted.
Have at it Jimbo: http://rangers.lohudblogs.com/2011/05/09/another-day-to-celebrate-a-last-day-to-vote/#comments
That link will take you to May 9, 2011. That is where VinceA day originated. The main post is at 1:56 P.M.
The thing that always stands out when a team is on the brink is their physical effort goes up by a thousand. Even though the Flyers lost last night, Zidlicky got crunched and Rinaldo layed out Volchenkov. Watch the Hendricks and Chimera to be beasts tonight. I expect our 3rd line to be dominant!
Hi All,
All right boys—Show us what you got! Ready for a big win…focusing on tonight’s game only…Cally will lead the way…and the King will give us the opportunity to win! See you all here after the game….
One shift one period one game one win and it’s a place we haven’t been since 97. Conf finals.
Please I just need to exhale and relax until Sunday. I can’t take this anymore.
Anyone have any interest in signing Erik Karlsson with that extra cap space we have….I mean should his negotiations in Ottawa break down (he’s and RFA, right?)
>>>That link will take you to May 9, 2011. That is where VinceA day originated. The main post is at 1:56 P.M.
Thanks, Manny! I’ll check it out – geez, I think I was around here at that time, but I don’t recall the VinceA episode at all – that’s very strange!
Hey! I didn’t need to do anything to post this message – the data was there – Carp, maybe it is fixed!?
Ooops! I spoke too soon! NOT fixed – data wasn’t there this time, and I had to manually scroll down to the latest posts.
Eric, what about tonight’s game? Surely you won’t be relaxing tonight!? I know I won’t, until the game is over with us with the WIN!
This is a good read in anticipation of tonight: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/washington-capitals-really-better-playoff-team-under-dale-145140506.html
And just for the record, I’m ticked that the NJD managed to wipe out their opponents in this round before us, if we do.
Manny, that VinceA thread is classic. Lots of laughs on that one! Thanks, buddy!
hey Latona, are you really in Miami? I’m right up the road… I am totally considering skipping this dinner party thing tonight for the game… I might go crazy if I miss this one…
Miami Pimp hasn’t emailed me. BUSH-LEAGUE.
I got your back Billy. Tell the Pimpster I said what’s up!
Ok gang. Heading out to meet Sally downtown, so I won’t be on the game. We’ll be rooting hard for the team where ever we wind up. And someone get the bail money ready for us, lol!
LGR!!!
Amazon is selling Brain Boyle masks!
http://goo.gl/pOQgA
:)
Let Go Rangers!
Good evening, Carp!
I’m off to watch the game (and get some Dino BBQ) with Mickey!!! I’m SO psyched! First official meeting of the Nosepicka Fan Club! Brandons Appreciation Night at everywhere in Rochester!
Mickey AND Sally BOTH in town? of course I’m in Florida… have fun, ladies! :D
Yeah… jpg, I think you’re the closest to Rochester. Can you bail us out later?
Sally –
I went to Dino BBQ in Rochester last summer – it was REALLY good!
Matt, it’s a pretty magical place. Very few places serve ribs from actual dinosaurs anymore these days.
Carp
i forgot to ask on yesterday’s chat
do you think Biron will get the start tonight
so that Hank gets a rest?
Sure thing Sally!
I had a breakdown a few hours ago when I realized that my rat tail had grown into a mullet, but that I can’t get a hair cut until the Playoffs are over. Nightmare.
that’s weird.
my birthday wishes to CCCP
didn’t show up but my other posts did
trying again
Happy Birthday CCCP!!
baseball cap and hide it?
one possibility
My head is too small.
BILLYBLEEDSBLUE
Heyyyy, I’d love to get together to watch, but im not doing so well with the treatment symptoms today:(
Westin Diplomat is pretty classy!
Feel-better, Miami.
Good evening, Sally! Have a blast.
I am a little bit optimistic that we’re back to normal, or almost normal?
anybody?
Testing.. testing..
Happy VinceA day, yall…
Don’t forget to wear a visor…
Mission accomplished.
Thanks, trouble-maker.
new post.
Been outta the loop for a bit here…I’ve missed quite a bit but not the games! Damn quick overtime, didn’t expect that on Monday once Richards gave me a jolt.
Great find on the Boyler mask Matt L.
Are we back to “normal”? Is it GO TIME yet? LETS GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Carp,
Your nephew and I have been looking for you at the game on TV. Where do youse guys sit?
I’m on the bandwagon big time. Almost broke my ankle getting on.
