Ya boys aren’t at “must-win” territory yet … especially since they’ve come back from 3-2 down once already in these playoffs. I expect they will play very well tonight, good enough to win. Does that mean victory? No idea. If I had to guess: Yes.
For what it’s worth (and it’s worth nada) the Rangers have lost four consecutive Game 5s. Actually, that’s worth less than nada.
Keep your fingers crossed that we paid the electric bill and won’t have another one of those outages tonight. God forbid.

I always thought the Rangers PK was somewhat overrated. For all the kills we had, the other team usually had plenty of zone time. The penalties in the third have been inexcusable though.

look, it was a blind hope if you expected this team to tie the game. I’d be willing to bet a large sum that the Rangers have never tied a playoff game that late before. so, while you can type, “I REALLY HOPE THEY SCORE ONE HERE” as many times as you want, there’s not a chance in hell any of these so-called mega fans really believed a goal was coming. quite easy to play the “told you so” routine after the game ends.

My slant on it is that, while I understand and accept the frustrated venting (do it myself, just don’t usually commit it to print), what I find a bit tiresome is what seems to be the repeated contest to be the first to predict doom and to predict the biggest doom, which comes across (intended or otherwise) as almost preferring to be proved correct than actually accepting there might be chance of a tied game (for it always starts even before the Rangers go behind) ending in the Rangers’ favour.
Even if the Rangers don’t score with 6.6 left, as would happen 999 times out of 1000, some of the quitting and bailing would still look stupid.

totally agreed. Rangers did not look particularly good in the third and no matter what the phony optimists here will claim, Lundqvist didn’t have a great game either. I’m pretty sure the power play didn’t generate a shot and I’m not sure the Rangers really had a really good scoring chance in this entire game (including the three goals they scored). there wasn’t much to suggest a last second comeback was in the cards.

Fun story for you guys. Long read, but entertaining:
So I’m at the game with my pops, and we’re feeling pretty down. We still have hope, but you know how it is. Anyway, with 2 minutes left, we decide to wait in the concourse and just watch it on the TVs. If the Rangers didn’t pull it off, we didn’t want to sit in traffic for hours. Would have made it so much worse, so by being in the concourse, we could bolt out and beat the traffic.
So we’re standing in the concourse watching it on the TV and more and more people start leaving. I could tell my pops is getting anxious (he drove us both in and he HATES traffic) so we walk down the escalators, and I keep checking my phone, telling him to HOLD ON, HOLD ON!
We reach the final exit and I said JUST WAIT. IT’S NOT OVER.
But he was not hearing it.
So we left, and as we reach the parking garage, we hear a rumble. Then the streets of New York EXPLODE. Car horns, people cheering, the works. “THEY TIED IT” I scream to him. So I say, “LETS GO ACROSS THE STREET, THERE ARE BARS ALL OVER LETS GO!”
He goes, “Let’s leave the city first! We have 20 minutes, we’ll leave the city and find a bar in Hoboken or Secaucus.
So we leave. We exit the Tunnel and we keep driving and we are finding NOTHING. Overtime starts on the radio. We keep driving and I see an Outback Steakhouse. I scream to him to pull in! We pull in. We can’t find parking and park in a security spot. We run into the EMPLOYEE BACK ENTRANCE of Outback Steakhouse.
10 seconds after we run into the restaurant, we see the game on TV, and we see the game winning goal. We both scream so loud as the restaurant looks on in utter fear and confusion.
