This is the first time in 73 years that the Rangers have played a game after one that lasted as long as 114:41.
Ya boys are expected to dress the same lineup. I saw Stu Bickel getting loose, so I anticipate no changes. Nobody had anything to ask John Tortorella today, so we gave him the morning off.
The Rangers have now won four of their last five playoff games.

That goal was 70% on LQ. 45-50 foot shot with 100% visibility and letting the puck pop out of your glove. Mostly LQ’s fault sorry. That said, if not for him it would be 3 or 4-0.

one of the fundamental problems with our PP is there is not a single guy on our team with an above average shot from the point.
Our d-men can only pass the puck into the corners whereas Ottawa and Washington both have guys that can blast it from the point.

Shultz looks like the real deal and is considered the best prospect in the Ducks organization. The referees screwed us as usual. They missed a too many men on the ice, a tripping on Callahan leading to the GW goal, and a delay of game by Knuble, and a 5 minute major for charging and a head shot by Ovechkin. Ovechkin will not be suspended, that’s a guarantee, even though it was the same hit as Raffi Torres on Marian Hossa without the injury.
Henrik allowed 2 goals today that he had sight of the entire way, goals that have no business going in on the best goalie in the league in a playoff game.
Very saddened.

I thought the trip on Cally right before Green scored was bad. Cally has the puck and instead of it getting out of the zone, its a turnover at the blue line. Refs probably thought Cally blew a tire instead of the stick that got his skates.

It was high and it was a tad late, but it was not charging. NBC gave indisputable evidence of that.
I guess I should be used to it by now, but it’s still mind boggling that after each loss we have to blame someone. Hank? Really? Refs, MDZ, NBC too? It’s hockey, one play could’ve changed it either way. And now it’s Torts’ fault too. Just curious, all of you specialists who question his choices of players, what makes you think that you know better than professional NHL coach with his resume? Ok enough of this. They blew this game. It’s now over. Their number one objective heading to Washinton was to at least win one game and they did that. Now they must hold serve and win game five at home. The scoters have to score. The coaches have to not make stupid decisions and the goalie needs to play like the MVP candidate that he is.

maybe your trying to say the hit didn’t have a worse outcome, because girardi saw ovi coming. Hossa’s head wasn’t up when torres hit him. thats why it was brutal. If you put ovechkins hit in the same situation as torres. Its just as brutal. In fact ovi jump way earlier imo than torres did.

Rangers were probably outplayed for the most part…but making some big time saves does not mean it’s excusable to let soft ones go in a game like this. These games are too close for comfort.

Girardi will get 10 games on review. Sorry but its true, you just can’t do that in the NHL these days, you must be responsible for where your skate lands at all times.

you don’t know hockey, cuz if you did you would know that leaving your feet to deliver a check is CHARGING. learn the game. and the replay clearly showed Ov doing exactly that. and the refs made the call on the ice, and they called CHARGING. so get a clue
It bothers me so much that WSH is:
1) beating us at our own game
2) beating us with yet another nobody goaltender
These games are really just way too close. LQ needed to be twice as big tonight as he was if he wants to sip from the silver. This may very well be the best chance he’ll ever get, and the reality is that it’s 90% on his shoulders to be the superhero and carry this team.

let me say this the rangers better not put themselves in a position where they trail 3-2 heading to wash. they dug themselves out in round 1 its asking a lot to do it twice.
I do not like the vibe this series has suddenly taken…it feels to me like the Caps have figured somethign out that works, and the Rangers have only a three game series to figure out how to flip the switch again. It really is hard to believe how EVERY mistake we make ends up in the back of our net within 45 seconds. Ovechkin goal today should have been stopped, but it’s him, you move on from that. Green’s goal, unacceptable, even on the PP.

NHL officials are pathetic both ways. They’ve capitalized on their PPs so far and we didn’t. We had two PPs in overtime, and didn’t score.
Dangerous hit by Ovechkin but it’s ludicrous to suggest it was the Torres hit. OV should have a hearing, but the NHL is wildly inconsistent so who knows what will happen.
All of you saying Henrik needs to make big-time saves and also claiming that those goals were soft, which one is it? Big-time saves usually come from big-time scoring opportunities.
