I am not expecting any lineup changes for the Rangers tonight, though I supposed it’s possible that Steve Eminger goes in for Stu Bickel. I doubt it.
Brandon Dubinsky is on the trip but not skating. Mats Zuccarello continues to skate, but is not practicing.
Sounds like Alex Ovechkin will play with Nick Backstrom, a dangerous duo in the past, and that means more minutes for Ovechkin (and for Dan Girardi and Ryan McDonagh) than in Game 2.
Ya boys are 2-1 on the road in the playoffs, and home teams so far are a robust 22-34. The Rangers have lost five consecutive playoff games in D.C. since winning Games 1 and 2 in 2009.
It’s warm and muggy here today (unlike snowy Ottawa), so the ice could be an issue (advantage: Rangers). They had huge dehumidifiers in the building, with enormous hoses pulling out humidity.
PS, there’s a glass-encased fire extinguisher right outside the Rangers lockerroom here.
