I think Rangers on the PK purposely defend at top of the faceoff circles and give Karlsson a lot of room at the point. They must have studied tape of him and figured out it’s how best to keep him contained. Hard to explain otherwise because they give him so much room. Scary way to play but can’t argue with the results thus far.

Mattyboy – I expected this team to finish 6th or lower and possibly fight to get into the playoffs. I am one of those people that will declare this season a success regardless of tonight’s outcome.
The regular season was a success…nothing can take away from that. Especially the banner for our division title.
But come playoff time if you’re the #1 seed I think anything less than a Conference Finals is a failure. Simple fact.
The Rangers are a very young team, of course. So the thoughts are positive going into next season that we’ll tweak a little bit and still have the same roster.

Yeah, in my opinion, the season’s a total failure if this team doesn’t, at the very least, make it to the Conference Final. I’d hate for them to end up like the Sharks of the last few years. Regular season success, with nothing to show for it in the playoffs.

Disagree. The playoffs would be a failure if they lose tonight, but the overall season will still be great.
Matty I would have said between 4th and 6th in the conf. But even then they needed to get out of the first round. Getting in was good enough the last year or two.
As I said they gave us a lot to feel good and be proud about this year, I don’t want to minimize that. But in the end if they dont get past the 8th seed in the first round it casts a cloud on the season.

Considering this team wasn’t even protected to be near the top of the East and still got 1st place is a huge accomplishment. They overachieved by a lot this season. I want the win, but if they lose I’m not going to be disappointed since this season was a huge step in the right direction.

Started with back-in-the-day home white, and when Turris got hit with a shot and went down, I thought I had made the right choice. But then my 4 year old seemed overly concerned with his being blue and mine being white with #9 on it. I switched to my now-home blue nameless jersey, as that particular conversation could go on for the entire game.
He went to bed after the first with them down 1-0, and I switched to the white. The rest is history.
I switched between my white Messier jersey and blue Graves jersey, also with and without the Atlantic Division championship t-shirt underneath…but Game 6 I had nothing Rangers on at all.
So…not wearing anything Blueshirt tonight, either.
Still haven’t shaved since the playoffs began. Not sure how much longer I can pull it off at work. And Pre-Cana this weekend should be fun.

If I am to be honest, I thought we finish 6-8 this year. The fact that, by December we were #1, I think lulled us into a false sense of expectations. This is a very good team coached extremely well. What Hunter has done in Washington the last month or so is what Torts has done with our guys all season.
THis season has been too good, too positive to end tonight. I think, given the amount of young players we have, you have to be excited for the near future. This is just the beginning as I see it. The picture of CK scoring his goal, hugging Step, MDZ and Staal was one that will stand in my memory a long time. How amazing to have such talent so young!!!! I don’t think that even the Gardner could mess this up. I just hope other people help him to make decisions because he has proven to me he is a complete clown.
I consider this season a success and a win tonight will bring it to an even higher level! I believe we will win tonight.

My youngest daughter attended a cooking college where they turn out some very well paid Chefs, and she being a petite and very pretty girl with billowing blond hair, tbw and I got a bit unnerved when we saw her walking own the street toward us, with that blond beacon, and the multitude of slack jaws staring at her as she walked along, totally unaware of the situation that she was causing. I got cold chills just realizing that she’d been here for the past couple of years..ALONE AND FREE OF OUR PROTECTION.
we had a couple of friends with us, another husband and wife neighbor situation, and I was driving my
1975 Bronco. She hadn’t noticed us ( we were supposed to pick her up there), and I was flying up Commonwealth ave, and I put the old Bronc into a =screaming u turn and floored it to catch up to her. My neighbor let out a screech, and he yelled, ForChrist sake, you just made a U turn on
Commonwealth Ave!” I gave him the Connecticut version of Fuggedaboudid, and yelled shut up I used to drive Cabs in Chicago this ain’t nuthin.!”
She spotted the Bronco, and came running to meet us and I couldn’t wait til she was seated and safe.
I asked her if she always walked around looking like a traveling forest fire, and was she ever hit on by guys.
She snickered and said something to the effect of, “Oh Dad, stop worrying, I know how to handle them”
(That was supposed to ah, reassure me. TBW looked a bit awed too, but she was more controlled emotionally than me, for this was my baby.. ( Believe me when I tell you newly married, that your time will come!)
I didn’t fully relax until we were on our way back home to Deep River Ct.
I can now proudly announce that she has reached the age of 40, has two beautiful daughters of her own, and she is NOW going through the angst of having them away from home and in College, one in Pace and one going to probably Iona. She made a fine marriage to a great guy who looks after his brood as I did and he is 6’4, and Swedish and both of their daughters tower over my little girl. I always enjoy going back up to their home in Cromwell, and she never became a cook….but a terrific hairdresser. Gonna visit them in June when the youngest graduates from Hi School and her next stop is probably Iona…shes a math whiz.
