Before everybody goes nuclear, all games will be on MSG, unless game five somehow gets moved to NBC, which would only happen if other series end in four.

But, they all had pointed out how much success Ottawa had against the Rangers this season and the tight transition game they play, which could be a problem for the Rangers.

I had paska for a late brunch and now am cooking the kielbasa to go with the ham and potatoes for dinner. And I have an Easter basket full of chocolate and bunnies to go along with the Mets game in the free preview :)
I’m a little worried about the Sens considering the way the played the Rangers in the season series, but I have full confidence that Torts and Sully will make an small adjustment or two to overcome that. I also have full confidence that Hank will be back to his dominating self, the Danny and McD and MDZ will be back to their stellar selves, that Richards will up his play several notches, Gaborik will be flying and Cally will be hitting everything in sight. Only adjustment I might make is to tweak the Stepan-AA-Cally line; it just hasn’t really clicked. Not sure what I would do there though.
Anyways, the 4 days off will do this team a lot of good and I totally expect them to come out flying, hitting, blocking shots and making life miserable for the Sens on Thursday!

I have this feeling that Kreider doesn’t really want to sign here. I don’t seem to recall ever reading a single quote from him or attributed to him about how special it would be to play with the Rangers. You know, the type of quotes you read about from Stepan,JT Miller,Mcilrath,Hagelin and others before them. Never once from Kreider. I know I am anxious for him to sign because he is the best prospect we’ve had here since Cherepanov and before that, Leetch. If it turns out that he didn’t want to sign here and that Sather held on to him and didn’t get Nash than Sather would have failed to do his due diligence and possibly cost the Rangers the chance to get much much better for the playoff run.
Not saying he won’t sign here it’s just a feeling I’ve had about him since he was drafted. Anyway, if he doesn’t sign here by the end of the week than at least the team should demand to know what his intentions are and take it from there.
Look even Carp wrote earlier this week that he was led to believe that Kreider would be on board by the end of the weekend.

I thought their would be Kreider news by now. I think he’ll be in the bottom six to add some speed, size and, hopefully, a spot of scoring. Low minutes and he does well can always be tried on the power play or a top line…if it proves to be too much he can be sent to the whale. Seems smart if he’s as good as Jeff Gorton, Gordie Clark, Sather and others say he is.
Do you really think Torts is the kind of coach that would put a guy in the playoffs straight from college? I don’t. It’s not going to happen. I would bet my car on it.

I dunno why, but I find all of Gaborik’s tweets hilarious.
I honestly do not see this series going past 5 games. The Rangers have, for the most part, only last games this season when they seemed disinterested or lacking the effort they no they need. Besides games against Colorado, the last game against Boston and a few others the Rangers losses have come from easing up on the pedal. Take last night for example—that first period was a classic first place clinched team thinking they were going to have a chance to win this game, they let themselves get down early but they won the rest of the game. They completely out played Washington after that and they had plenty of chances but sometimes it just doesnt go in. Another game I look at is the game agains’t Chicago were we go down 4-0 in the first 10 minutes—again the Rangers had won 3 before that against the Flyers, Boston and Capitals and the Black Hawks were coming off an 8 game losing streak. When the Rangers want to play and want to win, they don’t let in many goals. Players sacrifice everything and the only way the Sens score more than 12 goals in this series is from stupid penalties or is Hank gets injured. I don’t think people realize how long the Rangers went without losing 2 in a row and how many 4 and 5 game win streaks this team had. They are going far and the only team I see beating them is the Boston Bruins—because they are the Rangers but better. Just didnt play better for the whole season, maybe it had something with already winning the cup.

Kreider, I was told, probably will not be signing today because A) the championship game was last night and B) it’s, you know, a holiday. I’d be willing to bet it will be announced tomorrow that he’s signed, and wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him at practice. But, no, the plan is not to play him in the playoffs unless something unforeseen happens.

There is no reason for Kreider to sign now. No paychecks during post season and no signing bonuses allowed now.
Other than playing time in Hartford, there is no urgency for the Rangers to sign him now either. He may be considered NHL-ready but he’s not NHL-playoff ready and no way he cracks the lineup with practicing or playing with Hartford. Doubt Rangers really plan on him being in the lineup without training camp, too.
