Didn’t time it, but it might have lasted seven seconds in total. Might even be too fast for you to hear it.

Wow Simmonds picked the wrong fighter, engelland is the most underrated fighter in the league
i dont like it that Scott isnt in the lineup tonight… last game against Boston did not end well, and Chara at least noticed that Scott was playing in the game and they had words…. i kind of feel that after what happened in the Devils game, Torts is not paying attention to the physical aspect…. guess Tuesday’s game will really tell, but i hope it doesnt bite us in the butt tonight.
I couldn’t make out the question asked of Torts, but I heard his one-word answer, “No”.
Im sure Scott will play Tuesday, after the Rangers clinch with at least a point tonight…
Vokoun is out for the season for the Caps
When you see Engelland take down one of Phillys skill guys like that and see the hatred between these two teams brewing , I think if Crosby makes it through next Saturday I’d give it until mid second period of game one before someone ends his career with that next head shot that will certainly be his last.
“How can people not like this coach?”
Bad ties
Makes players “tired” all the time
Only one assistant on the bench
Implicit in potential Ranger disaster
Ran Hagelin out of town
Loves Dubinsky so much, never benches him
Think I might have missed one (aviary?), but that gives a flavour of things.
What’s up with Torts, 7 second pre-game, sounded grouchy. Did someone play a April fools joke on him? :-).
Fishies got murdered by Ottawa today at home, without Spezza or Alfredsson in the lineup, 5-1.
That’s how he is, tomg. If you ask him certain questions—about other teams, other teams’ players, or about the standings, etc.—he’s going to be instant grouch. Not that he’s not grouchy enough going into these pre-game things. But if somebody asked a hockey question related to his team, or a player on his team, he would have probably answered it.
LW, implicit in potential Ranger disaster. I still won’t admit it.
Good evening my fellow Rangers fans! Tonight could be a special night. For the first time since the magic Stanley Cup season, we are on the verge of clinching the Eastern Conference title. Let’s hope that tonight we will clinch with style by beating the Bruins in regulation time and once again, send them a message that they will not intimidate us. So enjoy the game boys and
LGR!!!!!!!
Carp, what was the question that was asked of Torts?
“Makes players “tired” all the time”
on a serious note though, the Rangers will need to learn to play a less demanding style. Not sure a team can go balls out for 82 games like the Rangers have and then advance deep into the playoffs.
Luckily for us, we should have a fairly easy road to the playoffs. Florida in the first round, Debbies in the 2nd and either Boston, Pitt or Philly in round 3. Whatever one of those three teams advance will have had to play much harder than we will…
if they play a less demanding style, they’re battling Washington and Buffalo for the eighth seed, oleo.
Jimbo, it was my friend Andrew Gross who asked if there’s any significance in that they can clinch tonight. Then, whether it was brought up. Then, so it doesn’t matter at all?
answers: No. No. No. That’s it? Good.
and if they lose in the playoffs, it won’t be because they went balls out for 82 games. That’s going to be the excuse around here, I’m sure, but it won’t be accurate.
Hat.
That’s why I posted earlier it’s the rangers advantage that pitt and philly are playing each other in the first round. I hope they beat the snot out of each other and whatever team advances to the second round won’t have much left in the tank.
Ole ole ole ole ole ole ole ole ole ole
without a doubt, tomg.
let’s go ranger, let’s go rangers, let’s go rangers
Again, I’d buy the argument about the Rangers getting worn out by their style of play a lot more if most people hadn’t stopped mentioning it once they started winning again.
And if anyone could show me a team doing well which coasts through games without putting much effort in.
Piss-filthy series will almost be as fun to watch as rangers/craps, saber cats, or marlins
I hope the rangers aren’t too tired entering the playoffs
I could see beer on getting a few starts in rd. 1
Thereby giving hank some rest for rd.2
if that happens e3, might as well not even play the first round. why the hell would Torts do that?
In fact, rest hank for all of rd 1. – a fresh hank for rd. 2 is money in the bank
i think that’s kind of ridiculous… Biron has been one of the best, if not the best backup in the league, but that’s what he is, a backup. Hitchcock in St. Louis said he’s trying to determine who of his 2 #1 goalies (elliot/halak) will be his goalie for the playoffs, the guy who doesnt get it obviously wont be happy….there’s no question biron isnt anywhere near Hank’s level. you play Hank all the way and see where it takes you.
Lev – but then hank would be totally rested for the 2012-2013 season
Carp
I absolutely agree (although I would think we’d be closer to 6 or 7), but the Rangers are going to have better players from now on so the need to play that style should diminish no?
Actually the next four games will be telling but it appears they are really hitting their stride as the playoffs start – getting real stingy on d again, Henk getting primed and the pp actually working. I think they are actually already through the exhausted burnout phase and revving it back up.
Lev – if the cock in st Louis said that – no arguing here
Flyers/Pens will, in my opinion, be the most entertaining and nastiest series. Rangers/Panthers/Sens will be a snooze fest… Rangers/Caps somewhat entertaining because of Ovechkin and because Rangers will pay back for the past few years… Rangers/Sabres will be the Hank vs. Miller show.
Lev – if hank rested for the first 2 rds. He would be so relaxed in the CF, don’t ya think?
Thank you for the answer, Carp! You need a shotgun microphone on your recorder to pick up those questions and answers. :-)
lmao, E3.
oleo, which better players?
Evening gang.
Saw the last few minutes of the Flyers/Pen game. That was insanity and nasty and I loved it. Let them beat the bloody hell out of each other in the first round, it will make things entertaining and smooth the road a lot.
Let’s sew this Atlantic and Eastern crown up tonight.
Heh. Carp said “balls out”.
Is Eric still writing angry letters to the league head office?
Lev – rest cally in rd 1 too
Caps and Rangers play each other on the final game of regular season. If Caps and Panthers are tied in points going into the final game, do the Rangers play Biron, and “rest” some of their top players? Maybe John Scott gets a shot as first line LW, Bickel goes to center where he is 1-0 on faceoffs? :)
So I’ve been trying to make these palm fronds into a cross since 8:30 this morning. Prust probably engendered a tree that grows them in this shape, which resulted after he looked at it.
Torts will use their body language to determine which goaltender starts in the playoffs…
If Torts were smart, he’d let cally, hank, and Danny G. take a 10 day vacation during round 1…. The extra rest would charge their batteries and there is no chance of injury. Rangers are deep enough….
Ilb – body language isnt used as much as it should. Only sign language is a better non spoken means of communicating
In about one month, the mets will be 5-12
Cally is over rated anyway.
I agree with those who said Scott should play tonight. 1) Sather specifically listed the Bruins as a team that we need Scott for, 2) last game between these teams ended nasty, and 3) while it’d be nice to clinch tonight, odds are we will finish in first even with a loss tonight, so we may as well protect our players against a team that plays a tough, mean game. Torts should be protecting a guy he loves in Prust, not putting him in a position to have to fight a better fighter (and Bruins have three – Chara, Thornton, and Lucic). You throw Scott in the mix and let him and Rupp handle the heavyweights and Prust won’t be so outmatched for once. I think this is a game where, if Scott was dressed and things are clean, we may say he wasn’t necessary; but if he is scratched and things get ugly, we will definitely miss him.
Anybody got a link for the game? At my fiancées place tonight and she doesn’t get vs or whatever it’s called now. Told her we can clinch our first division title in 18 years so it’s kinda a big deal. Lol
Wings win in a SO..
