It’s Go Time!

The Rangers will announce the Steven McDonald Extra Effort award before the game.
They go for win No. 50, which would tie the ’91-92 Presidents’ Trophy team and would be the second most in franchise history behind the ’93-94 record of 52.
Ya boys have won three in a row and five of their last six. They are five points ahead of Pittsburgh for the Patrick Division and Prince of Wales Conference titles. The Penguins play the Baby Buffaloes tonight in Buffalo. A Rangers win combined with a Penguins loss would knock the magic number from five to one, meaning the Rangers would have to not get a point in their final four games, and the Penguins would have to go 4-0 in their last four for Pittsburgh to overtake ya boys.
That’s complicated with ifs … just know that going into tonight, because they hold the tiebreaker the Rangers can clinch with five points, or any combination of points gained and/or points the Penguins fail to gain.
Henrik Lundqvist starts in goal for the season-high eighth game in a row. Same lineup, which means Jeff Woywitka and John Scott are prucha’d.
The Habs, who pretty much fired everybody Thursday, are toast and have lost five of six. They are without Scott Gomez (concussion).
That’s the 1910-11 Habs logo up there, FYI.
