Top o’ the mornin’ to ya Carpy.
Deadline at 3pm today and I am up early blogging when I should be working.
Anyhoo, the Isles helped us out. 1st place seems a lock. People are fretting over facing the Sabres. I don’t see how anyone can not be happy with the home ice throughout.
Third!
Good morning to all and Thanks to the fishsticks..
The reason the Sabres worry me is that if Miller is on his game, he neutralizes the advantage in goal we have over most teams. Also, they seemed to give us more than we could handle that last game. Hopefully that was just a bad game by us???
Two more points tonight please….
I can’t figure out if it was the Isles that played well last night or the Pens who spit the bit. Either way I’ll take it.
Good morning, boneheads!
Frankie- MAF was not playing well, they are depleted on defense, and their offense doesn’t look unstoppable at all without Letang. Also, their coach seems to have his hands full with very lazy team backchecking at the moment.
Voted for mac truck, though I think cally or girardi will win it. Would be cool if mac and girardi split the award like was done in the 80s one year.
I think Boyle deserves the SMA. He’s been a beast all year.
Top 10 !!!
Magic number is down to 5. Time to get two big points tonight and reduce the number to three.
Happy game day! I feel another win on the horizon. ( :
I think every single player on our team wants two cups and will remain focused on playing better in the “next” game. We’ve seen their determination all season long and don’t have to look any further than the last game where they came back to win in a convincing manner.
Wouldn’t it be fitting if two players shared the Steven McDonald Award tonight?
I don’t fear any particular team come PO time! Any team we play will be a battle. I believe in this team and they believe in each other. These last five games against mostly worthy opponents will show their will and focus as they begin their approach to the road that leads to the gates of Lord Stanley’s estate.
LGR’S!!
Canadiens 3-0, Gomez hat trick.
Happy great game day! Too bad about Crosby eating that puck last night….
How ‘bout them Islanders?
Pimp, you usually have the opposing goalie scoring the game winner. I think that’s more likely than Gomez getting a hat trick.
Let’s Go Rangers! One step closer to #1 with two points tonight.
Something tells me Cindy was a fan of the Mighty Ducks movie as a kid, and it really shaped him as a player…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZfxDMzL5F4
Pimp – I bet even Officer Steven McDonald Scores on the Rangers tonight.
Am I the only one who feels Gaborik is deserving of the SMEEA?
Good morning all! Whoever wins I’m sure I’ll be happy, but I can’t even begin to guess the outcome. Can’t the whole team get it? :)
Manny – Would you be proud if Officer McDonald’s family saw that? Read up on the award and Officer McDonald’s situation. Climbing off of soapbox…
The only teams that don’t scare in the post season are the teams not in the playoffs
No worries – the big blue wrecking crew will not be denied
Byfiglein fish sticks save their best for last with beetle Bailey to the rescue
LaTang may be Pitts second MVP after malkinstein
Oh, and for the record, it’s highly enjoyable seeing the playoff seedings unfold without the anxiety associated with drifting between 7th and 10th in the standings… Even more enjoyable hearing fans in Washington grumble about their “luck” at having to face us.
In the C I trust,
Duds
IMHO, Girardi and Callahan deserve it equally. Callahan won it twice already, I think Girardi should get it.
I don’t think I’ve ever cared about a pair of Fishsticks games! Things change I guess according to the importance of the games to NYR. I think on NYR off-nights, Cablevision should loan out our announcers. Those guys for Islanders suck.
Good morning, Carp!
Hey thanks Dudley. I appreciate you changing my life, outlook and sense of humor by reprimanding me on a blog. The joke is on the Rangers. Pimp style. You really don’t want to start a whole thing about that dude. We try to keep politics off this blog.
Sally! GChat
Thanks Manny –
First laugh of the day!
Manny March 30th, 2012 at 8:48 am
Pimp – I bet even Officer Steven McDonald Scores on the Rangers tonight.
I hate this, but Im going to have fish sticks for lunch and give thanks by not ordering one but 2 . Tonight minuteman Dan the Man should have his picture taken with NEW YORK’S FINEST . 50 ,yes FIFTY. Lets stay with J D and then pass him by. Oh Baby !!
The great part of this team is there are many worthy candidates for this award. Girardi, the King, Capt Cally, Boyle
it seems every goal the Rangers are scoring these days are playoff variety – in close, banging at rebounds – the dirty goals that you have to band in during the second season.
impressed with Dubi heading to cage more – playing with Boyle is more his style with the cycling down low and pushing to crease for jam shots.
Girardi or McD for McDonald!
Hopefully Gomez doesn’t Gomez Lundqvist like he Gomezed Miller a couple of years ago.
RE Stick slashing
I recall many moons ago as a young rink rat at the old
( and now long gone) New Haven
Aren* where the old New Haven Ramblers, principal farm club of Rangers, played and we on off days would go in to clean the ice and do some shinny works on the ice, playing keep away. I mentioned this to Pete McNab a few years ago, when his dad Max McNab played for the Indianapolis Capitols farm of Detroit, and had played the Ramblers the night before, while we rink rats were playing keep away he was tooling around with a puck and blasting it at an empty cage,
and he got close to me and I lifted his stick and glommed on the puck. All of a sudden both arms went numb. he slashed me across the forearms and took the puck back, and just gave me a dirty look. Pete laughed his head off at this story, and said yeah, that sounds like Pop, you don’t take pucks away from him EVER. It is a very painful experience.
I’m voting for Girardi.
And I’m really hoping who ever wins this award, awkwardly tries to shake Steven McDonald’s hand, and then more awkwardly gives him a shoulder tap when he realizes Steven can’t shake hands.
By the way, what’s our record when Steven McDonald says something arrogant? Last year was horrible. “We win, you lose”.....two hours later, we lose. LOL!
Orr, maybe he pulls a Dolan and predicts a Cup, and Torts runs out and grabs the microphone to say “easy, easy”
Gomez is still out with a concussion. It’ll have to be No Gomez with the hat-trick and injuring Lundqvist.
Hey Fran…did you get to see Glenn Healy in goal in New Haven back in the day?
I think it is a good day (with the Habs and Gomez coming in) to discuss Ryan McDonagh. His growth and improvement this year has been nothing short of astonishing. I also think we haven’t seen all he has to offer. I think there is tremendous offensive upside to his game. He has great wheels, is a great passer and has a very good wrist shot.
It is amazing that a 22 year old kid has become the best defenseman on our team. It will be another 4-5 years before he hits his prime. I think we will be talking about him for the next 10 to 15 years as one of the top defenseman in the league.
Props to Slats for a theft of monumental proportions…..
SOUP FOR SLATS!
Gomez was put on LTIR right?
“Pimp – I bet even Officer Steven McDonald Scores on the Rangers tonight.”
NOT FUNNY
There is nothing much to discuss left, Yev, about McD. You said it ALL.
Avery will win Steven McDonald Extra Effort! He LITERALLY went above and beyond the call of duty! Putting on nail polish really takes a lot outta you! :)
“Hey thanks Dudley. I appreciate you changing my life, outlook and sense of humor by reprimanding me on a blog. The joke is on the Rangers. Pimp style. You really don’t want to start a whole thing about that dude. We try to keep politics off this blog.”
IT’S NOT ABOUT POLITICS, ITS BEING RESPECTFUL.
about being respectful.
Tino = over-sensitive
Yes, it was a terrible game by the Rangers. They can definitely beta the Sabres in a 7-game series but it won’t come down to that just yet because frankly Buffalo is coming in 7th. We’ll be facing either Ottawa and the Caps and that makes me pretty optimistic. If we face Buffalo its because they’ve started sliding in which case I’ll take them too. I just want Philly and Pitt to have a good old fashioned war of attrition in round one.
who’s Tino??
My wife is disabled and in a wheelchair from the result of an accident, so yes I look for people to be respectful and not make fun of disabled people.
Martinez?
Tino – get over it. I wasn’t making fun of McDonald because he’s in a wheelchair. I was making fun of the Rangers who could probably let a guy in a wheelchair score on them because they are so bush-league.
Acceptance is the first step to recovery. If you would like to make fun of me for my laundry list of heart surgeries and other implanted devices to stay alive feel free. I would always be happy to assist. Remember, humor is the essence of life.
And once again….
Sally! GCHAT and NO EMAIL
Manny – Just not funny and with Pimp already owning that corner of the superstitious market, does that make you the pimps bi…. nevermind.
Regardless, the Extra Effort award is about celebrating certain qualities on our team and a certain individual whose commitment to the city resulted in paying a large price for what he believed in.
I’d rather focus on the amount of damage Cindy’s Tears and Hatnells Hair Weave will do to one-another in round 1…
Definitely think it should be Girardi or McD but I voted for Girardi. I don’t like to vote for rookies or second year players because I think some improvement and development is more likely and expected.
When a guy who last year was 2nd piece of a top pair becomes one of the best D guys in the league in the prime of his career and makes you not even realize that the top guy is injured for three months, I think he deserves the award.
Can’t wait for the inspirational words from Steven…always gives me goose bumps.
Who is Dudley?
No worries, I’m just sensitive because she goes thru a lot, and Office McDonald is far worse off than her. I’m glad he gets honored tonight.
Anyway, let’s hope they win tonight and get one step closer to clinching 1st.
Peace.
GO, MANNY! You bionic despot!
I voted for Girardi. Not our best player by any means, but our most important in terms of contributions beyond the expected level. His filling Staal’s role and playing like a #1 shutdown d-man for the first half was massive in getting us the top seed.
Thanks
CCCPI think this is the first time you have supported me, rather than insinuated that you would hunt me down and “of” me.I am very pleased about the emergence of this alliance!
Manny- You can trace my posts back 5 years since I moved back home to NYC, does that make my sound advice any simpler to digest or should I break out a crayon?
Not looking for a killer internet argument, just would prefer to think our fans are smarter and more passionate than pre-teens that poke fun at the expense of someone the entire Rangers Organization chooses to celebrate.
“Off” Manny…. “Off”
Are you actually…. Tiki? You write similarly…
Dudley – you just won’t really convince me that I said anything about about Stevie McD. Because I didn’t.
Anyways. I am done with this argument. Carp doesn’t need this junk clogging his blog and stopping good, quality g(j)ibberish.
wtf is going on here today? suddenly some people lack a sense of humor? smile, everyone! it’s friday!
Manny
me supporting you there does not mean i don’t still want to hurt you! i kid i kid! we’re cool…
for now. :P
That is the response I would most hope for,
CCCPKeep it real.
Sorry about your wife, TINO….
C’mon, folks, I doubt Manny had any intentions to offend Steven McDonald, or what he did, and what he means for this city….It didn’t come out right ( internet is a funny thing), and just took a wrong turn. Let’s leave it behind us.
UMMMM, where the hell am I??
This place seems different…
oh well, i’ll give it a shot
Morning ILB and all!!
So I voted for avery, he made that extra effort doing all of that extra traveling by bus and then back and forth to the rangers!

You do, Manny? I’d be careful with your heart condition….
Puzzles are peaceful and always end satisfyingly…..unlike some of the discussions here :)
Careful how, ilb? I have Transposition of the Great Vessels, Type D. Two Mustard Procedures and an Enpulse DR Dual Chamber Pacemaker going strong.

Hi Carp, mama, ilb, & Tiki!
“Puzzles are peaceful and always end satisfyingly”
Unless you put it all together and discover that a piece is missing.
In order to get Manning, the Broncos sacrificed a virgin
Hi hambone!!!!
Did you know Dr. Mustard was Canadian, Manny? Now we all know why you like hockey. It’s “in your heart” :-)
You told me about the Transposition, btw…

Manny, I bookmarked it a million years ago. I remember when it happened I was laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe…
It’ll be even more awkward when everyone finds out Brendan Bell has won the award.
or the Bahama Bomba.
Play nice!
Off Broadway play. Acting personalities:
Manny =prolific, talented, slightly heart injured Joker.
Ilb. = The Sheriff
Wicky = posts Tsunami
Doodie = aggravation’s Generator (most knowledgeable veteran)
Tiki = victim’s velvet Tranquilization
Carp = the Judge, Executioner and Equalizer.
4ever = ever annoying hypercritic.
All others – neutral to the play, “can’t care less” wise participants.
4ever, I’m not neutral!!! I’m in drive!!!
Mama
What did I do?? A whole months worth??
Tiki
Ouch
Manny
Not over the line and lmfao
Col mustard was Canadian?
Wholly speedy video find sallycrepes
Mean Mr. Mustard sleeps in a park, shaves in the dark, he’s a go-getter.
huge 2 games from the Islanders. A Rangers win tonight essentially gives us the #1 seed…
Plus, i still think Washington steals the division from Florida which would make an easy series…
4ever
Too funny lol
Carp
LOL
Jesus Christ, Tino quit the whining. Manny, no need to even attempt to apologize…. having said that, can we get a “Thanks for Ryan” chant going at MS
ugh posted too soon. going at MSG tonight*
TINO and Dudley “shadow personalities” I didn’t characterize, because first, not sure how to spell their names and second, I’m afraid of retribution, if somehow, unintentionally and unknowingly brake their fragile sensitivity, which I have full respect to.
Seriously, I’m not a judge here because personally, harden by already long life, I take offence only when I see direct intention to insult.
Not the case here…Just gibberish(jibberish) play. Basta!
oh god Dubinsky and Steven McDonald was so awkward…. i liked how the crowd booed James Dolan in the speech :)
105 points = WOW
107 points = WOW WOW
Playoffs start April 11th. But I’m assuming not every team plays on the first day. Am I right ?
Is there a chance the Rangers start on Thursday the 12th ?

What’s this Mr Mustard business aboot?
well you know, its a fool who plays it cool…...nah nah nah nah…remember to let her into your heart, then you can start to make it better nah nah nah nah
Mr. Mustard, formerly Colonel Mustard, was dishonorably discharged from his rank of Colornel for war-profiteering (selling crucial parts of American military aviation systems to the enemy or elsewhere on the black market).
sally – mean mustard was a real go getter…all you need to know….
Anyone remember the name Roman Ndur?
oh yeah, all right, are you going to be in my dreams tonight
Manny, I think I had the lyrics wrong …
... shaves in the dark … trying to save paper? what is it?
ndur should have won at least 2 norris trophies…one of the greatest Dmen to wear the broadway blues
It was Ruman.
and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make
His sister Pam works in a shop .She never stops, she’s a go-getter
Pam!? From the show Martin?
Who is Ruman? Except one, who was Companion of the Prophet Muhammad, I don’t know any. Roman, maybe?
so what does Mr. Mustard do? Does he shave in the dark? why?
Kenny
I referenced him in the last game thread…along with Chris Tamer
I told you what he does…above Carp. He was a war-profiteer. He was Col. now he’s just Mr. Mustard the disgraced army man.
Mean Mister Mustard sleeps in the park
Shaves in the dark trying to save paper
Sleeps in a hole in the road
Saving up to buy some clothes
Keeps a ten-bob note up his nose
Such a mean old man
Such a mean old man
His sister Pam works in a shop
She never stops, she’s a go-getter
Takes him out to look at the queen
Only place that he’s ever been
Always shouts out something obscene
Such a dirty old man
Dirty old man
