Post-Game Quotes:

–        John Tortorella on Marian Gaborik… “It’s a huge part of his game this year, he’s not swinging out, he has played in traffic all year long. I haven’t gone through his goals but a number of them are just banging them in there. He’s made a concerted effort to work on the details of his game both offensively and defensively and it’s really paying off for him.”

–        Ryan McDonagh on Derek Stepan… “Things didn’t go the way he wanted to during the first two periods, but he’s a competitor and he’s going to stick with it. He knows his strengths and abilities and if there was anyone I thought would get a clutch goal in this game it would be him for sure.”

–        Henrik Lundqvist on today’s game… “It was a game where there were different moments. We started out really well and they started coming really hard. The second period they were all over us and we were a little tired. I think we felt pretty good having a tie game after two periods with the way the game was played. Going out to the third, we got a little energized and got our legs going a little more and we scored some big goals. The way we answered back with the fourth goal was obviously a big one.”

Team Schedule:

–        Please note the Blueshirts do not have practice scheduled for tomorrow, Mar. 5.

–        The Rangers will return to action when they face-off against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday, Mar. 6, at Prudential Center (7:00 p.m.), in an Atlantic Division match-up.  The game will be televised live on MSG 2 and can be heard on Bloomberg Radio.

About Author

  1. By the way, with this win the Rangers won the season serious against the Bruins. It’ll be very difficult for Bruins ( and the Flyers too ) to knock them off the first place even if the Rangers go .500 from now on.

  2. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

I like the rangers play where they send Carl from die hard deep on a fly pattern and the ranger D man ices the puck and Carl is the first player down ice

  3. Set play, he make the opposing D men look silly….Richards made that pass today, eddie…

  4. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Ilb – I think they also ran that play with a D man as well…. Yes Richards did the first one

  5. Who is this new goaltender for the Fishsticks, lol? Good thing they held on to Nabokov at the deadline…..

  6. We should expect to see more games like this one when you consider their busy upcoming schedule. After a day off tomorrow, they’re playing another 3 games in 4 nights, all on the road. And we’re playing teams that need the points more desperately than we do. It will be interesting to note the condition of the team as we grind our way to the end. It would be sweet to clinch 1st in the east asap in order to rest players that need it.

  7. JimboWoodside on

Amazing win for Isles – they’re a funny team – for as bad as they look sometimes (and as bad as their record is this season) they can play a good game now & then – two good wins in a row for them, and ones that helped us out, too!

  8. JimboWoodside on

So now the Isles have a Swedish goalie? Anders Nilsson? Sound like a combination of out two Swedes of the 70’s!

  9. team played like crap, Lundqvist looked human and no Callahan.

    Oh and we still won…

  10. Boyle = Dime-a-dozen
    Fedotenko = Dime-a-dozen
    Mitchell = nickel-a-dozen
    This blog = dime-a-dozen
    Manny = Penny-a-dozen

(how’s that for pessimistic poliana there, ilb?)

  11. I anticipate some NNs tomorrow. Game wasn’t perfect. Bad period. Lundqvist allowed 3. Blew 2-0 lead and 3-2 lead. … the PP (goes without saying). … they’re burned out. they’re in trouble.

    the usual.

  12. And no timely time out by Torts either, opposed to his counterpart….How many years will they be tolerating that bum behind the bench?

  13. Right. I forgot about how burnt out this team is.

I think the best that can be said about this team is that they win even when they are outplayed. If this was a best of 7 with the Bruins the Rangers would be up 3-0 in three, separate styles of games.

  14. The Islandorks have Franz Nielsen and Andres Nillson? Had they gotten the Roman Hamrlik, Travis Hamonic combo this would be the best named team EVER

  15. Although a win is a win, I don’t feel comfortable about the Ranger’s effort today. The Rangers had a day off yesterday, while the Bruins played. Yet it was the Bruins who were more faster and energetic, and the Rangers seemed tired and slow. They were continually beaten to the puck in all three zones. If it weren’t for Hank, this game could have been a blowout.

I hope that this is not a sign that they are starting to revert to their “gliding after the puck” style of play, as was the case a few years ago.

  16. Afternoon all,

Carp – of course there will be some NNs on the board tomorrow. Poor Rangers. Only 27 games over .500 with 18 games left in an 82-game schedule. Perhaps they’ll just squeak into the play-ons again this year.

Everyone wants them to paint a Rembrandt with every game. Ain’t gonna happen. And if this is exactly how they beat the Bruins in game 7 of the Conference Finals – we’ll all take it.

  17. Guess I missed a wild one , I name 3 stars just by reading the boards
    1. Hags
    2. Gabby
    3. Staal
Any good for not being able to watch . Ulfie Hedberg?

  18. And by the way, once again – this team responds at the right time.

Just :39 seconds after Krejci ties it for the B’s in the third – Stepan gets the game-winner.

Gotta admire this team’s resiliency. Nothing really gets them down.

The coach and the leadership group of this team are doing one helluva job.

  19. HageLinMcCalPruBoylahan on

stealing victory from the jaws of defeat!

  20. eddie eddie eddie on

no way they out of the first round with hank in the nets….hank for nabokov will be the trade never made that will blow up in slats face…that and avery for nash

  21. eddie eddie eddie on

i would also argue that few shoot more harder than chara…..blocking those more harder shots is more insaner than almost anything else i can more think of

  22. eddie eddie eddie on

john paul george and ringo scott is more tougher than any bruin or flyer…..

  23. eddie eddie eddie on

cant believe tiger shot a 62 with all of his on course distractions today….especially considering his 2 stroke penalty for slow play in the 11th hole

  24. If Rangers can win 9 out of 11 games to SC champion team, I can’t see why they can’t win any 4 of 7 and Cup itself.
Chant “Let’s go Bruins!” was immediately and artfully followed (without rehearsal!) by concurrent, unanimous and vigorous “Bruins sucks!”, so it went like one funny piece.
Rangers played game which become their trade mark®and despite of being outshot, outskated and giving up territory, they matched Bruins intensity and to me, looked solid and confident the whole game, regardless of talking heads critique and certain mistakes.

  25. czechthemout!!!! on

Good to win this game. But they were dominated for very long stretchesof this game. They played a decent third period. But once again, the lack of a good offense is clearly visible. And I hope they figure out some way to create a little more because it will cost them in the playoffs if they don’t.

  26. Carp-

Torts did pull Scott away from Chara at center ice after the game…I was actually sitting right on top of you staring at the back of your head from 417. It’s been awhile since I posted (a year maybe?) but a little push from Linda earlier may have gotten me back on here – just so hard to find time!

  27. when he kicks Toad and makes him explode, I laugh hysterically…that video is great lol

  28. so glad we won that game! had to step away for a few hours, that piece of Lucic at the end really ticked me off. Chara definitely looks like he’s lost a step or two, pretty soon he’ll actually have to start fighting guys like Scott in order to remain relevant.

  29. Ranger fans are so use to being mediocore we do not know how to think with a great team…

the rangers next must win game will be game 1 of the playoffs. they are on cruise control until then. limit injuries and do not overwork Henrik..
this team does not know how to cruise so that is a problem .

my concerns in the playoffs are the pens and miller and buffalo if they make it. he looks like he is starting to get going and that would be scary….

this team is a treat. rangers fans have not had it so good in about 17 years…….

  30. What a piece Cooke that Lucic is. I can’t wait till that mother Hartnell actually fights someone his own size. He will eventually have to answer the bell when sheriff Scott comes to get him. What a cheap shot artist.

Told you Thornton would go no where near John Scott. I get the feeling that JS us feeling out the opposition and getting ready for a rumble the next time they play. I remember one shift in particular whee Scott and Lucic were both out there and Lucic wanted no part of him.

What is interesting to me is that Scott is Ina collision course with Chara. I wonder if either of them has fought somebody their own size before. My guess is no and that this would be a fight between the tallest and heaviest fighters in the NHL history.

  31. I live having scott around but no one is going to fight that guy. Torts should us him on the pp and stand him in front of the net a couple of times. They have nothing to lose

  32. without Lunqvist:

Rangers would be a 500 team
Tortorella would be in the hot seat
    Trades would have been made.

Rangers have a a gift that will only last a few more years and I’m not optimistic come playoff time.

  33. I Rarely Speak on

Alan you apparently dont watch the games.. and how will it only last a “few” more years when he is only 30

  34. The Capitals just connected on a really nice passing play and Bryzgalov made the save.

Now, I don’t know if it’s because the Rangers aren’t involved, or if it’s because they’re really sucked that badly this season, but it looked about 1000x slower and less threatening than the same passing play by Washington would have looked the last several years.

  35. JimboWoodside on

    >>>i have so much work to do and i dont want to do any of it

    You and me both, E3!

YES!! I mentioned a few nights ago that they should park “Big John” Scott in front of the crease on powerplays – he’s enormous, he would be a good screen, and it should be very tough for a defenseman to push him out of the way…

  36. JimboWoodside on

McD’s is advertising their green “Shamrock Shake” – OK, now I know that it’s St. Patrick’s season!

  37. I want to see JS check Lucic into the boards legally but really hard and then challenge him. Lucic will have no choice but to fight him or look like a total scrub.

  38. Just finished watching the game on DVR.

So many times this season, I thought the Rangers were facing a game where an oponent had every reason to beat the pants off of the Rangers. The B’s hadn’t beaten the Rangers this season and just lost a REALLY bad game at home to the Isles!

But, this team WILL NOT BE DENIED!

They have such incredible heart and determination. Giving up leads of 2-0 and 3-2.. THEY FIND A WAY TO WIN!!!

Stop complaining about this team for gods sake. They are 42-15!!!

This is a magical regular season. I for one am savoring every minute. As a Ranger fan since 68-69, this type of season is rare indeed. If the rangers could win a couple of rounds in the playoffs this year.. WOW!

If they could get to the finals…. WOW!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t think they match up well with the western conf teams like Vancouver and Detroit… But, I wouldn’t put anything past this team. They just don’t seem like they will be denied.

  39. eddie eddie eddie on

13-3-3 over the last 19 isnt good enough…extrapolating over 82 games is only 120 pts….that barely makes the playoffs most seasons….trade hank now while he has *some* value

    avery for nash!!!!

  40. eddie eddie eddie on

jimbo – how about a nice corned beef on rye to go with that shamrock shake?

  41. eddie eddie eddie on

sorry yev – but 15 losses wont cut it for me….75-5-2 is what i want

  42. eddie eddie eddie on

you cannot stop e3, you can only hope to contain him….just heard, tiger is still in the deep rough

  43. eddie eddie eddie on

e3 thinks that this is the rangers’ year…..e3 will only be speaking in the third person from here on out

  44. JimboWoodside on

I’d like to try that combo, E3, but I’m never gonna find a good corned beef on rye at Mickey D’s, and that’s for certain!

Maybe I could buy a deli sandwich to take out at Katz’s, and bring it to McD’s!? ;-D

  45. eddie eddie eddie on

jimbo – i will be making a nice irish stew in the crockpot 2 weeks from today

  46. JimboWoodside on

OK, E3 – very good! With lamb, I assume?

Too bad you’re out on that other coast – we’re having a St. Patrick’s Day bash next Saturday that I’ve arranged – and yes, it’s a week before the holiday, but we wanted to do it this way.

  47. Someone didn’t get their graham crackers after their afternoon nap did they?

  48. eddie eddie eddie on

jimbo – e3 puts a live sheep in the crock pot…fresh lamb is the best

  49. Apparently there’s a leaked nude picture of Olivia Munn that just hit the net. If they’re real, then maybe this is what can re-energize Horse-Teeth. Or maybe it has the opposite effect on him, and he turns into Gomez 2.0!

  50. man, those couple of NNs are not only really NN, but dumb, too.

Rangers had a day off yesterday? Um, they played back to back on the road, traveled late night, all night Friday, practiced Saturday, then played third game in less than four days. Rested? Clutterbuck, I’m tired thinking about it.

Lack of offense. Yeah, they won’t win many games scoring four goals.

Rangers would be a .500 team without Lundqvist? Does that mean they wouldn’t have any goalie at all? If so, then they’d be below .500 probably. But with Martin Biron in goal for all 82, this team would be a playoff team. It sure ain’t a one-trick pony. And that’s taking nothing away from Lundqvist, who better win the Vezina and could win the Hart.

Not optimistic come playoff time? What the hell reason could you have for not being optimistic? I’m not saying they’ll win a single round or a single game guaranteed. But there’s not a team in the whole damn East that they couldn’t beat in a best-of-seven … or a team in the whole damn East that wants to play seven games the way this team plays.

NYR Guy, I did not see Tortorella on the ice after the game. I don’t think he was. Welcome back. If you’re busy, you don’t need to be here 24/7. Maybe 18/7 would be enough.

  51. JimboWoodside on

    Must be a hell of a crock-pot, e3!!

ORR – I’m not sure that we should risk it – it might send him into a total tailspin! :-P

  52. Yev – I don’t think the Rangers match up well with most elite teams as far as top-end talent. The just have more heart and a ton of steel in their spines. If they come against another team with more talent and as much heart, then they are in trouble. However, in a seven game series, I don’t think anybody is going to want to play this team.

At this time of the season, when everybody has a compressed sched, you will see which teams have the conditioning.

  53. HageLinMcCalPruBoylahan!! on

    LMAO @ 18/7

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY NYRGuy! nice to see your handle up there again! :-) (hard to make a big smile, i’d either have Marchandornados nose OR Brodeurs chins)

  54. eddie eddie eddie on

carp – its the ranger O, and the pp, that is winning games…..hank for nabokov… adismal non-trade

  55. this team is miscombobulated.

Lin, what about Marty’s arm fat?

I love the Brodeur jokes … but you guys know that he’s really not fat, right? He has a fat face, but he’s really thin.

  56. eddie eddie eddie on

when marty jumped on the trampoline he flew off and landed in Manitoba

  57. HageLinMcCalPruBoylahan!! on

unfortunately there are pics of brodeur on just about every page so far lol

  58. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

If Marty ate 12 large pizzas in a forest and nobody saw him, would he make a sound?

  59. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

The reason Marty plays almost every game is because there isn’t a bench in the league that can hold him

  60. JimboWoodside on

Second shutout in a row for the Caps – something is really wrong with that team…and they only beat the Isles by the skin of their teeth in the game before that. They were almost shot out in that game, too.

  61. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Chris Christie can eat you out of house and home, Marty can eat you out of neighborhood and apartment complex

  62. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

I would hate to see the craps in the first rd. let them lose, lose, and lose

  63. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Jimbo – he was of the teddy Roosevelt school of hockey – carry a big stick and skate softly

  64. JimboWoodside on

He put a LOT of goals in the Ranger net while he was with us, the Bastard….

  65. Looking very tired & Henrik starting to let soft ones in. This is not the time to take your foot off the gas but when it’s already through the floor what do you do.??? Ummmmh

  66. Scott needs to punch lucic into next year. Those two sucker punches by lucic to Mcdonagh’s face behind the ranger goal after the game was over was total nonsense.

  67. I’ll take these Jackson Pollocks every game.

Tiger with a two stroke penalty, he argued for four

  68. JimboWoodside on

I think the whole Ranger team took down Lucic’s number after that display of punkishness – I’d be surprised if there isn’t a donnybrook with him involved the next time these teams meet.

  69. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

DDe – I had some great tiger riffs a few threads ago, but alas, no one listened…

  70. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Had Tom poti been paired with Johnny bednarski, who gets the Norris trophy?

  71. Carp – When you say they got together at Center Ice – were punches thrown or not really? I ask because when Mc Monster got side punched by Lucic, they were seperated but time had already expired – I thought that if that happened after regulation, the ‘league’ automatically reviewed and handed out penalities – well fines I mean ( I know, I know, but I am asking not because of that, I am just wondering about that ‘process’).

Sets up a great re-match, huh?

PS – PP still not 30%

  72. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

What does Marchand do at 40,000 ft if the plane loses pressure and the oxygen makes drops down? I sense he holds his breath till it stabilizes

  73. just saw on the news that the toddler that was found alive in a field in Indiana after the tornado has died from her injuries. She was one of 5 that died in her family.

  74. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Coach Sean – Lou sick was given 2 minutes at 20:00. Not that it means anything

  75. Piece of Carcillo should have had the Bufglien punched outta him by Scott or Rupper

  76. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Lev – that makes me sad…. Not to mention that my childish humor looks stupid upon hearing this

  77. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Coach Sean – I have a feeling John Scott will be lining up next to Lucic next game

  78. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Hope rupper’s hand is ok after his scuffle… Some nice overhand rights to the bruin’s helmet

  79. We should all be saluting Pruster for that tilt with Lou Sick – courageous, but please in the future look up and size up the opponent first Pruster – we need your scoring and your toughness for the long road ahead

  80. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

I agree coach Sean – big bad John needs to let the Prust know that “Lou sick is mine”

  81. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

The next bruins – rangers game will be like the rangers flyers game 6 in73-74 playoffs

  82. Coach, no punches thrown. But you rarely see the two teams coming together anymore at the end of a game. It wasn’t even a mob scene. But it was Scott and Chara going toward each other and all the players from both teams were on the ice.

  83. if any team with a great goalie gets hurt they are screwed except vancouver and detroit. vancouver because their backup may be great and detroit becuae they have a great team.

miller gets hurt buffalo stinks…henrik is great, he also just turned 30, the ranger team defense is also very very good…… imagine how bad mtl. would be if price got hurt, jeez they would be horrible even worse then they are.

philly also is very talented since their golatending is avg………most good teams have good goaltending, there is a correlation

  84. question: What are they going to do to Lucic? He can beat up anybody the Rangers have except Scott, and he’s not going to fight Scott.

that last meeting is April Fool’s Day at MSG.

  85. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Not to belabor this death thing, but our 12 year old German shepherd, greta, died recently… Still sad about it

  86. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Carp – John Scott needs to somehow shame Lucic into going….. Maybe put it out in the press… Let Lucic know it’s time to man up with someone his own size….

  87. JimboWoodside on

As someone up thread said, Carp – Scott runs Lucic into a corner, (but not so obviously that he gets an immediate penalty – kinda like Carcillo did with Gabby) and then immediately calls Lucic out – either Lucic fights him, or looks like a pussy.

  88. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

A nice cross check or a really good 2 handed slash by big bad John should help matters

  89. JimboWoodside on

Maybe Scott needs to have a consultation with Avery to find out what he should say to enrage Lucic into a fight!

  90. If the final meeting doesnt have any meaning in terms of NHL Overall record, Id just forfeit the game and lose the gate dollars. No need to send our guys out there to get intentionally injured, like lamb to the slaughter.

Thats why I didnt want Henrik in there today. I didnt want them intimidating him, getting in his head or injuring him by running him over, or just simply Lucic lucicing him like he luciced Miller.

  91. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

The league will probably step in and say chill boys…. But I sure hope something happens. Going to be a great best of seven if these two meet up

  92. leetchhalloffame on

If the Craps are tired of Ovechkin we should try to make a deal for him this off season.

  93. stranger nation on

Girardi’s hit on Lucic is another way. he is not going to fight Scott or anyone who is his size and can scrap. Like to see Bickel throw with him – Lucic is better fighter, buy all you need is one Bickel wild right to a land and he will buckle Lucic

  94. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Tiki – that would be good… Can’t chicken out…. Crack marchand’s head or seguin – go after their guys…. Run Thomas a few times

  95. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

S nation – Bickel didn’t look too good today going with that dweeb Campbell

I know, but that is why Lucic may dance with him. Bick’s is young and wild – not much form, but hey, you never know what can happen.

I really wanted to see Scott v. Marchand with an uneven reach advantage by marchard’s nose.

  97. Tiki XLII XLVI on

Good point, E3. But you also cant get into a game of dirty shots w. them, because youre never gonna come out the victor.

  98. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Marchand’s nose, if bloodied, would flood MSG – there would be no survivors

  99. Or, do what they did. Have Scott punch somebody’s lights out at the buzzer. Not Lucic’s. Seidenberg’s. Or Thomas’. Or Marchand’s.

or run somebody the way Ference ran McDonagh.

  100. Tiki XLII XLVI on

At the Lightning game, a couple Blackhawks fans sat in front of me, and they said “You guys took our Scott. We want him back” LOL And I was thinking to myself, he’s a 4th line fighter, whats the big byfugliening deal. I usually never care about fights, and I tease Blogmama about getting on TV in Sweden cheering a fight, but I would like to see this guy knock someone out.

  101. He’s not going to get a lot of chances to make that impression, either. When Callahan’s back, he’s probably prucha’d most nights … then a UFA.

  102. Carp- lol @ Girardi “Um, uhh. No,I know um I’m just taking off my skates.” “Um. Obviously I can’t throw my skate there” ‘Excuse me sir” “Um, Wad you say again?”

He’s so polite but, why can’t he throw his skate there??

  103. I hate paperwork. Or rather, sorting through a bag full of receipts and invoices and other nonsense so it can be filed.

Anyways, had the Caps/Flyers on in the background and man are the Caps screwed up. It’s like they are caught between who they used to be and a grinding team and non one knows what to do.

  104. I don’t get why everyone’s making a fuss over a guy that scores 20 fuggin points. Big deal! Are the Knickerbockers *that* pathetic of a team that one 20 point scoring kid from Harvard gets everyone creaming??

Hank is the real *King*, but I guess Lin and his 14 points in a losing effort is more important!

  105. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Dde Carly Simon and ozzy had a love child together – it happened on a crazy train in vain

    >>>Or, do what they did. Have Scott punch somebody’s lights out at the buzzer. Not Lucic’s. Seidenberg’s. Or Thomas’. Or Marchand’s.

I’m rooting for Marchand – but I’d rather have Scott take on Lucic mano-a-mano, if possible!

  107. yep Orr likes the rangers and the celtics. let me guess you like the yanks and the steelers also.

manchester united and rafael nadel also. ie. all winners…

sounds like a badnwagonner big time.

i like all the NY teams(rangers, knicks, yanks and giants) that is called NY fan…….

the knicks are still losers I admit it, but the celtics are going no where also. knicks do not know how to win, that is a big issue…some teams know how to win……

  108. i can watch the girardi destroyer hit on Lucic 1000 times.

love seeing that neanderthal get whacked. big bad bruins cannot beat the rangers…

  109. dde, there was a camera guy standing basically on top of Girardi’s equipment bag as the interview began.

I talked to Girardi about the hit on Lucic. He just laughed and said something like, “It’s inevitable. We can’t seem to avoid each other.”

And you should have seen his hideous discolored right biceps, about two times the normal size, from the shot he blocked the other night. Block Ness Monster.

So much bravery and bluster here today and tonight; so many
of the strong-willed willing to lay the brains of Rangers new and
Rangers old open to the depradations of repetitive angry blows.

Let’s lead John Scott down the Probert Path, the Boogard Boulevard
    of Dreams.

So proud to be among you, here in the Little Peanut Gallery.

  111. And I’ve made it perfectly clear that I’m a bandwagon Celtics, Patriots, and Red Socks fan. Nothing new there.

And I don’t watch Soccer, Fewtball, or what ever the fugg you want to call it. I’d rather watch Hartnell comb his hair than watch that sport, and that’s saying a lot!

  112. annnnd youre still a virg after all these years arenthca!….aha, aha…that’s funny.

  119. It’s still the Rangers dismal passing game that is their major problem. The contrast between their sloppy half baked passing compared to Bruins sharp and accurate game was quite noticeable. But they do get lucky at times,,,,and they need it. I cannot understand why anyone lives in the midwest and thinks it is a great place. I have a friend who lives in Wichita, ( and what a crappy little burg THAT is..I played hockey there one season a long long time ago when I was young, and not always making the right move, but they had a local league that had two of the teams sponsored by Boeing and Beechcraft who had factories there, and it was pretty good little league. And the other team was in Tulsa Oklahoma just over the state line Good players, ( don’t know what I was doing there), but that Tulsa team called themselves the Oilers, and they had some ex pros one guy an ex Bruin called Clare Dillon and another was a former Rangers ( or so they said) named Jud McAtee?????; bu they were a murderous team to play against. ( No goalie helmets back then, and very few player helmets.)
But this friend told me that they have a tornado cellar dug in their back yard that they can dash to if and when. What a hell of a way to have to live, with that threat hanging over you year after year.

Oh…and to top it off Wichita at least back then was a DRY state. Kids used to drive over the State line to get an alcoholic beverage. Wonder if old Witchie is still, ah, D R Y.

  120. Aha, Aha…I love it!

Welcher ORR has never posted one comment in his life that wasn’t a “12 year old joke”… ironic choice of a response, virgy. You’ve gotten so clever! Quick! Make up a funny name for team or a player…you’re such a card!

Aha Aha I love it so much…never gets old. ;) I love you ORR.

  121. Hey, I can get away with 12 year old jokes, based on my age. Big difference between us, old man river.

I think you’re a virgin, to be honest. You have to be. I mean, anyone who takes a blog bet as serious as you do, can’t be getting laid. It’s physically and mentally impossible. You’re definitely a moron. Don’t think I’ve forgotten aboot your moronic Dupuis comment.

That comment was the original dumb RR comment. Others have followed in your footsteps. Stewie with his “Erskine” comment, among many, many, many others. Then there is Czech, with his “chemistry” comment, which still makes me laugh. Then that other guy, Noonan. But, I can’t remember what he said. Too many dumb comments to keep track of.

    just finished the dvr’d game…interesting

i actually seem to remember prust beating lucic fairly well last time they fought

I think prust can hang with him normally like he can with most of the other bigger guys he fights. I also think rupp and bickel can give him a go. Lucic is tough, but not a monster by any means IMHO.

I would have had scott on the ice at the end of the game and told him do not get more than 5 feet from the net at any time, just because you new lucic would be out and do something screwy.

like your post at 11:06. That would be good. I have no problem gooning it up on april first if the standings are in hand.

I would love to see the bahama bomba go with lucic.

Last thing, I qould resign scott, I mean his contract wouldn’t be a cap killer and it isn’t like we carry the full number anyhow…I keep him.

  123. Wicky©Proud owner of the world's most persistent cold on

wish there was a vid on the net somewhere with scott and chara about to mix it up after the game

Aha Aha….how old am I ORR? It’s no secret really…yet you seem to be holding onto this wish that I’m some old man…Aha Aha…that’s why you’re adorable. Notice how I’ve been absent from the blog for aboot two years? Do the math little buddy! Aha Aha…but I missed your funny names…they NEVER get old (like me) Aha Ahaaa!

And what’s that aboot Dupuis? He sure has held down a pretty good job with PIT hasn’t he? You wouldn’t know anything aboot that, wouldya? Aha Aha….no, you certainly wouldn’t! Tell your Uncle that “Old Salt” says WHAT UP!

  125. Yeah, just because Dupuis scores a few goals this season means he was a HUGE PART OF THAT CUP WINNING TEAM! Hahahaha! You’re such a fool! Don’t act like you’ve forgotten what you said. Man up, and admit that it was a dumb comment. You really think the Pens wouldn’t win the Cup if Salty Dupuis was not on that team. LOL!

What are you doing here anyway? I thought now that Drury’s gone you wouldn’t post anymore. You were always more of a Drury hater than a Rangers lover. I know that.

Maybe you’d like to do this all night, but I don’t want to get you in trouble. Nursing homes normally have a 9:00 p.m. curfew. Get to your room, quick!

  126. Oh my, I wish I was only 40(generously)!

I wonder how bad it would sting if you knew the truth…I find it pretty funny that you don’t actually. I was under the assumption you knew me from the facebook group….the one where you hid your face and your name. Aha Aha…you’re getting owned again just like old times…so good.

  127. Please, don’t flatter yourself, I couldn’t give a flying fugg aboot your personal life, one way or the other. And I don’t even use facebook. I only made that account cause somebody here wanted to show me something on facebook.

Look, you’re old, you’re grumpy, you’re a complete dork. I’m glad you feel you’re owning me, cause it’s the only excitement you’ll get in your life. Congratulations, Salty Dupuis. Goodnight, Wrinkles Mcgee.
