Wanna pick the three stars?

86

We had some discussion about this a couple of weeks back, when somebody asked how the three stars are chosen and I explained the very faulted system.

Anyway, then our friend Hedberg picked his three stars in the thread, and they were the same as mine.

So I had this idea. How about one of youse picks the three stars and I put them on the game review with my three stars the next day? I can assign any of youse interested a game, and that night you e-mail me your three stars (after the game, unlike the idiotic system in arenas where they collect the ballots with eight minutes left in the third period).

We can start tomorrow if youse want. So here’s the deal. If you want to do the three stars for one of the remaining games, e-mail me at rcarpini@lohud.com. I will then assign you a game.

We might also do something even cooler than this in the near future.

  1. Sorry, Tiki…
OK, I think I’m done at work for today. Will play a couple of tennis sets, be ready for the game. See you all then.

  2. I was the one who asked Carp. I couldn’t believe Del Zotto wasn’t chosen. You had him as the number one star and I agreed with you. It was the game where Stepan scored the OT winner.

    NO SOUP FOR YOU!

  3. Good afternoon, Carp!

Oo! What does *this* mean? “We might also do something even cooler than this in the near future.”

I get a soap box to voice upon which I can voice my opinion? Yes, please.

  5. *Something cooler* means one of us get interviewed by Dave Maloney between periods?

  6. Right. Good point, Latona. I just meant in general though and since Maloney is often on MSG in between periods being interviewed in Al Trautwig’s fish tank thing I thought I could be there.

  7. Oh but I’m going to Texas in a couple weeks and plan on eating a lot of ribs and Tex Mex. Just a heads up.

Im in on the 3 stars, and a game review if you ever need one.

RobC – easy….. let’s see if Biron can close the barn door between his legs first. This is the 3rd time I thoung Hank would get the start, lets hope its not the 3rd loss.

3 Stars are the 3 best RANGER players. Unlike TV puts the other team’s players when we lose.

Game Day Boys…… let’s Play Hockey!!!

    LGR!!!

  9. Carolina should be a pretty good spot for Biron and definitely better than having him against Stamkos tomorrow. Plus we know Tortorella wants to beat Tampa in Tampa no matter what he says.

  10. “yep, no need to watch, van halen at garden tonite!”

    1st star: Turcotte
    2nd star: King
    3rd star: Ogrodnick

This will be the second franchise wins record to have an asterisk next to it. Lundqvists 30+ win seasons are the first.

  16. Do you know why fish are so thin? They eat fish.

I hope some of our regular regulars sign up for Three Stars duty.

Fish don’t just eat seafood , they occationally feast on a little land food like seals and the odd people.

  19. Grand idea!!!!! I’m in!!! Avery, first star!!

OK, I kid, but I just wanted to say Avery…..traffic you know….

Fish are thin cause they drink lots of water every day.

According to Zipay Cally was seen on crutches and wearing a boot & that he’ll probably miss tomorrow night’s game . That doesn’t sound like a bad bruise to me (-: Truly hope i’m wrong

  21. JimboWoodside on

Crutches and a boot!? WTB!? He didn’t block any Zdeno Chara shots in the last game – what happened to him!?

  22. Ria(the silent bonehead) on

It’s sounds like the same thing from last season after he blocked Chara’s shot Jimbo . this really SUCKS!

  23. fake hattie, but I’ll take it…

crutches and a boot is not so bad…protect the foot, keeping weight off….Heck, he’s used to that with a greater injury…but Cally, heal up…..you must come back asap!!! We need you!

  24. I also don’t twit or tweet….should I? Seems like more time wasting…..I can only be so many places at once!!

  25. Ria(the silent bonehead) on

Thanks Carp I was having some dinner Oh & btw Carp I read you 1st every day before I check to see what the other reporters have to say also I only post here that is when i’m not being silent

  26. I believe, Cally’s foot inside becomes a receiver of Kovalchoke shot. Amazingly, he played after that, full shifts to the end of game.

  27. JimboWoodside on

Well, it’s *lousy* news – I know Carp mentioned something about Cally’s foot a day ago, but with all the bull-carcillo going on on the blog, real news is hard to have discussions about.

    Thanks, Ria, for the heads-up!

  28. Hey Carp,
I am reading Nightmare on 33rd St. I am thinking: Don’t you owe it to us to write a book about THIS season? after enduring the depression of “Nightmare on 33rd St.” I think you should write a book about this current team.

  29. Ria(the silent bonehead) on

Laurel when I win the lottery I will treat you & all the other female boneheads to casino night promise . Did you see any of the photos from it boy our guys are soooo good looking not an ugly one in the bunch .

  30. Ria(the silent bonehead) on

Your quite welcome Jimbo. Sorry I had to be the bearer of such news(((

  31. cw, I’d like to do that, but I would have to get a publisher to guarantee me certain things this time … because my last publisher went belly-up and I made peanuts for a whole season’s worth of work … not that I did it for the money, but you hope to have some success in that regard.

that was a bad experience all around, other than the writing part.

Bruce Springsteen is calling attention to a missing Boston college student…

    FYI Mamacita

  33. good god Scott is HUGEEEE. Carp, money shouldnt be an issue now. After 1000+ comments on deadline day, you are set :D

  34. Ria, as the official hottie quotient keeper of the blog, I will say yes….saw many pictures. Ladies vote? Rangers in tux or sweaty uniform….?

Carp, I vote for a new book, with blog addendum….and a glossary!!!

  35. Tiki XLII XLVI on

I dont know. It just ran across the ticker of CSN New England. If you find the missing student, your reward could be a kiss from the Springsteen!!

  36. No one will be taking liberties with the Rangers when Murdersaurus is on the ice. What a monster. LOL!

NO SOUP FOR SCOTT… RAW MEAT!

  37. kinda funny…

he finally has Richards on the top line, but it’s in between Hagelin and Worthless.
