Post-Game Quotes:
- John Tortorella on tonight’s game…
“We played much better in the little areas of the ice. When we tied it up, for some reason they ended up taking the momentum. That’s part of the game that wasn’t good. To go down early in the third period, you don’t want to script it this way as far as a win, but it turns out to be a good way to win. We were much better.”
- Ryan Callahan on his 100th career goal…
“It’s something to look back on at the end of the year – to say that it’s nice that you got your 100th goal and career high (24 goals). It’s nice to enjoy tonight but come Monday it’s another game.”
- Brad Richards on the first period…
“We were just happy… maybe not with the result, but with how we played after the first. It gave us a sense of confidence after the first, ‘Ok that’s how we’re supposed to play, we got it,’ then it was back to what we’ve done all year – just being patient and staying with it and trusting that we’ll find a way to win it and we did.”
Team Schedule:
- The Rangers will return to action when they face-off against the New Jersey Devils on Monday, Feb. 27, at Madison Square Garden (7:30 p.m.), in an Atlantic Division match-up. The game will be televised live on NBC Sports Network and can be heard on 1050 ESPN Radio.
- Prior to Monday’s contest, the Rangers’ morning skate is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at Madison Square Garden.

Hartnell just got his ass kicked! Yay!
Sweet, Jimbo!
jimbo, link on the hartnell fight yet?
Ya but Giordani could have really whailed away at him.
carp, dont forget the bickel story for tomorrow.
hahahahah shorty on Universe. 3-0!
Speaking of Bickel…He was very solid tonight.
on the flyers board, their fans are saying they think Universe has ADHD…omg i cant lol..
I don’t have a link, sorry.
Calgary just got a shortie! 3-0 Flames vs. Philthy!
also sounds like CBC caught Meszaros rolling his eyes after Universe allowed one of Calgary’s goals…tough times in Philthy land.
>>>Ya but Giordani could have really whailed away at him.
True that, Cape! I don’t know if I would have been as “sportsmanlike”, I must admit!
They did, Lev – I saw it – it was pretty good!
His team is getting really down on him – Sweet!
I would have liked to see him getting beaten like a rented mule!!
Damn! Flys score. :-(
LOL @ ADHD!
3-1 now
I would have swung for the fences Jimbo.
And yes, the Flyers are beyond frustrated…too funny!
Wolski: Scoring late 3rd period goals to tie hockey games for the Florida Panthers.
Avery: Might as well be retired, his hockey career is done.
..Just saying, since Avery’s fans loved to compare the two of them for some reason. Christensen on another team, Wolski on another team, yet Avery can’t even get playing time in the AHL. It’s over for Avery and his cult.
Damn!!! Flys score again! 3-2 – crapola!
Flyers imploding? MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
End of 2 – C’mon, Calgary – stiffen up! Beat these sleazeballs!
I hope so, Mickey – they look like they’re having a resurgence, though – gotta throw more shots at the headcase goalie and watch the hilarity ensue..
Go Flames! Flyers suck!
Always fun to celebrate a Rangers win with the Flyers losing with the worst goaltending in the league.
Hartnell escapes any disciplinary action for his vicious knee-on-knee hit on Pajaarvi last night – I guess Mr. Snider called Shanny and warned him not to do anything foolish..
Didn’t see that hit. Been maybe two weeks without a dirty hit in the league.
Flys outshooting Flames 33-13 in 3rd period – I guess Flys figure that the only way to keep from Universe letting in any more goals is to keep the puck away from any Flames player!
That “hit” was vicious indeed, Jimbo. It almost made me sick.
How much money did they spend on Mr. Universe again? Didnt they even trade for his negotiating rights too??? Wow. Typical Philly.
It was nasty, Cape – and it didn’t look like an accident to me.
They were talking about him and his contract on Satellite Hotstove – they weren’t pulling any punches, either – said he’s the 3rd-highest player in the league, and that he looks like he isn’t really trying!
Flames with a PP – looks as bad as NYR’s. 1 shot on goal…
It’s about the personalities, it’s how they mesh with each others likes and dislikes and the trusting establishment of friendships. That’s what wins. That’s what makes them come into work every morning and give it their all. And that’s what the Rangers have.
Oy! Flames penalty – Flys have a chance to tie it up.. :-(
Per Universe not trying—
He’s russian. I’m sure this was all part of his plan. He’s a millionaire, and will get dumped by a team eventually. Then he’ll move to Russia and buy a mansion and sit in his throne and eat black cavier.
Oy! Now a 5-on-3 – Mr. Snider’s phone has been very busy tonight…
Flys tie it – was there a doubt..?
My game wrap-up:
Typical Rangers game tonight … A garbage win that stands as a portend of things to come, namely an amateur-hour flame-out in the first round of the playoffs (if we’re lucky enough to make it).
Whomever these clowns play, they will get destroyed. Unless you’re Mr. Magoo, you are well-aware of the complete lack of skill and lack of balls on this so-called squad.
More like a little-league sack of dung than a squad, if you ask me. These fools couldn’t cut it on an Cuidad del Leste intramural league, much less the NHL.
Flames suck – deserve to miss playoffs.
3-3…in off of Hartnell…holy hartnell!!
>>>Cuidad del Leste
Que!?
CBC announcers complaining about too many men on the ice penalty and a boarding penalty that led to the 5 on 3….
Incredible luck by that ugly, hairy bastage….
Miami – you have Wolski now. Head on over to Sunrise to see a real superstar.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ciudad_del_Este
Crappy Flames! They should do Iggy a favor and trade him, cause he’s not winning the Cup there. Poor guy!
Anybody see Chris Neil’s hit in the game against Boston? Wow! I thought the guy he hit was dead.
He needs to have his entire epidermis waxed..
I’ll be glad to – he was the only one who could have led us to Stanley
Penalty shot for Flames!
Tanguay SCORES!
4-3 Flames!! Penalty Shot goal haha
Nice!
I hope the Pamthers win it all and Wolski scores the winner in the finals, game 7
We should trade for Tanguay
That hit was insane, Jimbo – THAT’S the kind of hit we should be seeing in this league. Hard, shoulder to chest, feet on the ice.
Now wait a minute, Miami…let’s not go crazy here!
Go Flames!
Imagine a line with Wolski and Tanguay being centered by Christensen, delicious
Scruptuslecent
I did see that hit – I’d love for our guys to be able to deliver some hits like that!
Flys score again – Hartnell involved….
Fuggin’ Hartnell – another goal by him tonight – just incredible!
AGrossRecord Assuming Lundqvist plays Monday vs. Devils, he can extend his NHL record to seven seasons to start his career with at least 30 wins.
Pretty amazing. I ♥ Hank!
Miami Pimp…did you see that story about the high school girls that got that random tourette’s disaease that no one can diagnose?
I think that Gary Bettman is bottling that and having it Fedex’d to MSG so that the Rangers start quacking like ducks and cursing like truck drivers so that his master plan of small market dominance (see Nashville) and keeping Ed Snider happy (see Ian Walsh’s “performance” during the Winter Classic) comes to fruition.
So yes, I see an total collapse and a relagation to the E2 division of Hockey LI for our beloved Rangers.
See I knew it … I’m not the only one who knows the truth … jayhup has picked up on it too

Sounds like a lovely place – can we get Sam’s pal “Scotty” sent there, somehow?
Good game live. Took 2 friends to their first-ever hockey game, and an OT winner is about as exciting way to do it as there is. They loved it! We may have 2 more casual Rangers fans now.
No, the Rangers weren’t perfect. They bent, but didn’t break, and Cally and Gabby found some space to score CLUTCH~! goals. Hard not to walk out of the building with a smile after that one.
And it was my Cally jersey that did it. Totally was a good luck charm.
Jokinen for slashing with 2 mins left. FUGGGG
Another Flames penalty, this one with 2 minutes left in the game – Snider’s phone is still working…
Miami Pimp…I is smart…
Nice move, Olli – you lose a playoff spot for us vs. Flys with your crappy shootout skills, and now you give them a clear shot at winning this game, you pig-nostrilled bastage!
You rock, Jimbo.
Tied – Flys get 1 point so far…
Just finished the win on DVR. Amazing how the perceived necessity of a huge deal changes because Callahan completely undressed Kaleta.
Thanks, Latona – sometimes I think I have Tourettes….
How does a team, only two points out of a playoffs spot, blow a three goal lead? Pathetic!
WTB happened to Iginla? Can he only score against NYR?
>>>How does a team, only two points out of a playoffs spot, blow a three goal lead? Pathetic!
Sung to the tune of the 1960’s instrumental, “Because they suck, because they suck”.....
The above tune by Duane Eddy, I believe…
Oh, and I know that Bickel got his “beak” scratched by skates felt down from shelve in locker room, but maybe there is something more funny at this story.
Cammalleri also slipped into the Twilight Zone…what happened to him!?
What a turnover – the Flames defenseman almost banked the puck into his own net off Hartnell!
Breakaway Contest next!
Got it to a shoot out…
They’re playing “Sweet Caroline” in the Saddledome – are they rooting for Jagr!?
Ha! Van Reimsdyk!
Tanguay makes the same move, but fails this time!
Cammy scores!
Damn! Giroux scores…
god damn it Calgary sucks in shootouts
Flys win – Calgary sucks..
Fuggin losers!!
Phlties won in OT,damn…
Philthy wins. carcillo.
Waste of my precious time, watching those damned losers…Calgary, another year of no playoffs for you, ya bums.
Can Sather just hang tight for another 38 hours???
Remains to be seen, Mr. D.
Tonight is the night is the night that we’re losin control!!!!! Everybody go OOOOOHHH!!! OOOOHHHH!!!!!!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sather is going to let loose in t minus 15 hours
Watched Wings get waxed by Avs tonite – Datsyuk for MVP? – since he went out there a completely different team.
Downie is playing great since coming over from bolts – Avs have good young team with some snarl on the back-line.
Great responses from Maspeth residents (NYC equivalent of Philly), even Jimbo – he was rejected for rental in Woodside – can we have some responses to a Rangers from the heartland ?
I guess the “Haiku JPG” is fast asleep and the “Miami” has been outwitted. Come on guys, challenge, challenge – this is not a video game – make me come out of just lurking…..
Newbear? Huh!?
@jimbo : what a surprise, a newcomer, bwahahahahah!
Who’s a newcomer? Me? Maybe so – been here for around a year, I think. Lurked for several years before that.
Just my response to newbear – huh
