It’s Go Time!

Game 57.

Rick Nash in the house … a Blue Jacket for the time being. Vinny Prospal and Fedor Tyutin here, too. Can you believe Columbus has only been here four times since its inception.

Ya boys on a one-game losing streak, 4-1 in the last five and 20-6-1 in their last 27. Haven’t lost two in a row since Dec. 13-15, and have lost two in a row in regulation only one other time this season.

Henrik Lundqvist back in goal. Same lineup otherwise, which means Stu Bickel up on the wing and Wojtek Wolski and Jeff Woywitka are prucha’d. Ruslan Fedotenko skated today, but there’s no update on his condition.

The Blue Jackets are playing better, though maybe not as well as Nash seems to think (hear the pre-gamer in the thread below). They’ve won four of seven, and were bombed by Chicago 6-1 at home Saturday after beating the Blues earlier in the week.

Keep an eye on Nash tonight … because I think there’s a really good chance he’ll be switching from jackets to shirts, if you know what I mean, by next Monday. Also keep an eye on mini-enforcer and Jackets alternate captain Derek Dorsett (175 penalty minutes) who fought Chicago’s John Scott, giving away eight or nine inches and about 80-90 pounds, Saturday.

ORR!! THat is some festival of flavah! I <3 the Bonnaroo Buzz. Raspberry Voluntary is yum too.

  2. Evening gang.

I have cleaned ALLLLL of the things today. And made chili for Tuesday and a breakfast thing for work tomorrow. Productive Sunday FTW.

However, I will be missing the first period cause I have a skype call with my sis and her family.

    NO TO NASH!!!

  3. LGR’s! Man, Rick Nash is a BIG GUY! I don’t want to give up too much, but park that guy in front of the net on the PP. Who is going to move him out?

  4. In other words (Carped in last thread), if you have no idea
what the cost to the Rangers is going to be, by definition
there’s no way to do a cost/benefit analysis.

Unless it’s one of those meaningless jobs that come from
grads of Fan College of Sarasota…

  5. Welcome, Lin!

Lev, that IS scary – I hope Uncle Glennie convinced him to take Redden, Aves, and a few others on the Whale – and maybe only 1 forward from our roster..

  6. Olga Folkyerself on

Ready for Nash’s New York Ranger audition? Bottom line, like it was in ’94… if the trade goes toward winning a Cup, it’s worth it, if we don’t, it isn’t.

    FIRE SATHER! {{{{{LINDA}}}}}

  7. Carp you just gave me a heart attack with this:

    Carp February 19th, 2012 at 7:55 pm

megan, what’s the problem, bro? are you suggesting they’re not better with Nash?

Those who are on FB would know why, lol.

  8. Hahahaha!!! Thanks, Lin – I never thought of that, but I do appreciate that you don’t!

  9. HageLinMcCalPruBoylahan on

WOOOOOOOO STREAM!!! LETS GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!!! and honestly, i couldn’t give a rats ass about the knicks lol

lmao Drurys at the game, behind troutface

  10. I thought the same thing, Mickey!!

Wow – Habs got a goal – too little, too late?

No shutout for fatso tonight, anyway…

  11. I haven’t stated this before until now but I’ve been thinking lately that the big fat turd (James Dolan) is putting pressure on Sather to make this deal whatever it takes just like Dolan step over Walsh to trade for Carmelo Anthony.

  12. HageLinMcCalPruBoylahan on

Mickey, that’s the first thing i thought of. I was like ‘what did mickey say that carp called her bro’… then I remembered meganegatron lol

  13. didn’t receive an answer on this yesterday
    (or didn’t see one)
    so i’ll try again

if someone like Avery is traded
does he still need to go through
waivers and possibly be picked up
by a different team or can the team
that did the trade just bring him up?

  14. I am no ‘bro’, that is for sure! Although I can talk sports with the best of them! Heck, I did it for 3 years back in my VT days.

  15. need the two pts tonight before trip to pitt on tues

gain on pitt and bost. hopefully devs blow lead.

  16. Tomg, you could very well be right – meant to comment on your post before, but things got busy here.

He’s been known to “interfere” – he’s the owner, after all!

  17. interesting because i thought
Sather didn’t put Avery on waivers
because he not only didn’t want
to be on the hook for a portion
of his salary but also because
    he wanted something in return

thought that was the reason why
nothing would happen til trade deadline.

    maybe i read it wrong.

  18. Someone tell Jimmyboy to worry about his dear Knicks and leave the Rangers alone. Hell I’ll drive to NYC and tell him myself!

  19. JimboWoodside,

yea, dolan is the owner and that’s what scares me, especially when he gets involved. Everything that guy touches turns to crap.

  20. The Jersey front office found Clarkson – just scored his 22nd on a what some
folks still think of us a defense-first team. Cap hit: 2.67 million.

The Philly front office (y’know, that Holmgren guy not well-thought of by many
here – who had his team in the finals three years after takin’ the job) found
Wayne Simmonds, already a 20-goal scorer, high-energy, edgy. Cap hit: 1.75 million.

Uncle Glen is gonna get 18 goals, and the league’s worst plus/minus (I know,
it’s a highly-flawed stat, but not ENTIRELY without meaning) for almost TWICE
what those two guys would cost.

    Let’s get it done!!!!

  21. HageLinMcCalPruBoylahan on

i think i am about to get some really bad news from a friend. i might not be posting much for a while.

  22. we better get on the board soon
because i can see the ice getting really
    awful
    as the game progresses
    due to knicks game earlier.

  23. >>>What are the odds Chris Kreider jumps onto the ice and stabs Rick Nash, like Monica Seles?

ORR, you are certifiable!! Totally!! ;-D

  24. Mickey, I still dont get it, but that’s OK.

I don’t think this is a Dolan deal. It seems to me that the Rangers really like this guy and want him.

  25. Olga Folkyerself on

  28. tomg i know you have some weird grudge or something against Nash but common be realistic Nash is impressive so far…

  29. whoever finishes 6th and plays that div winner has a better matchup then being 4th and having home ice against a div opponent likely two atlantic div teams

  30. “Lev February 19th, 2012 at 8:30 pm

tomg i know you have some weird grudge or something against Nash but common be realistic Nash is impressive so far…”

really, I hope your kidding, not sure what you have seen. I’m not impressed, not for the players the rangers would have to give up and definitely not for 8 mil a year.

  31. well im not looking at it from the angle of him doing every little thing wrong just to bring the guy down….but he seems like the only guy on that team that cares, he’s hitting, and he’s joined the rush a few times.

  32. HageLinMcCalPruBoylahan on

tomg, they just traded the Richards hardon from the past 2 seasons to Nash now. lol ;-)

  33. ye i know tomg the first line Dubinsky that will someday score 45 goals blah blah blah. agree to disagree. I want Nash and he’ll be a monster here.

  34. You’re right, Spider – those bastages are on our heels – and I still am annoyed that we gave them 4 points a couple of weeks ago.

  35. yev

disagree on nash love his size and how he could shield the puck. that said stay put no major deal pick up a rental maybe a selanne if the ducks lose some on the rest of there trip.

4-0-2 on game trip but ducks still not picking up major gorund

  36. carp, I’m supposed to get excited about a player making 8 million a year because he rubbed out dubinsky? Wow, this blog is getting crazy.

  37. like i have said numerous times on the blog the devils season turned on the bounce against the rangers. they had lost 3 before that game and were in 8th

now there 4th and i now worry about them more then pitt and phil for the div

Crazy Columbus tv , its been intermission and at least 3 -4 hot chicks are telecasting Blue Jacket events and news…wowsers gotta love Columbus’s way to keep the fan watchin!!

  39. HageLinMcCalPruBoylahan on

sigh, you know i love you guys and all but WHY ARE MEN SO HARTNELLING PRIDEFUL and stubborn!?!?! argh i just wanna punch him in the freakin face@!

  40. It’s good practice for whichever Rangers go the other way in the deal to spend the whole game camped in the Columbus zone. They need to get used to it.

  41. I’m back now! Horse Chompers scored, I see. Good for him. Now pour it on boys. And I wanna see Dubi pop Nash but good.

  42. ZzZz NYR ZzZz© " Don't stepan the logo!!!"...says Greg L. on

No worries Eric , Devils aint got nuthin on the Rangers.

Rangers are winning the cup , Boston had it last year and this year we take it away from Boston. WE eliminate then in the playoffs and go on to win the cup in 7 games. Bank it!!!

BTW last year Hank was softqvist , this year he is one word and one word only…ELITE!!! He never won a cup but after this year people wont be saying that again. We are witnessing the greatest goalie in the game , when Hanks all done , Marty wont have that shut out record.

  43. i think this Columbus team is one of the worst teams i’ve seen in the NHL in years. No wonder why Nash’s numbers are what they are.

How is he supposed to score when he’s in his own zone the whole game…

  44. Spider, why not, in a league that has contests after games, rewards losers with points, has teams with losing records above .500, suspends guys for crosschecks to the head for one game, and fines guys couch change for elbows to the face.

  45. ZzZz NYR ZzZz© " Don't stepan the logo!!!"...says Greg L. on

    GO RANGERS!!!!

    GO RANGERS!!!!

    LETS GO!!!!!

It seems when Biron is in net , our team gets lazy on defense? Hank kicks anyones azz who doesn’t block shots or dosn’t make the play …Hank is a perfectionist and act like the Captain of this club.

  46. ZzZz NYR ZzZz© " Don't stepan the logo!!!"...says Greg L. on

haha Orr , borderline bad but very true!!!! Hardqvist is rock solid!!!

  47. Tiki XLII XLVI on

So the worst team in the NHL hasnt committed a penalty yet, but the best team in the NHL has committed 2? Interesting…

  48. We’ve made many strides this year, but so far, we haven’t shaken a fault we’ve had for many seasons now – we are a TONIC for *weak* teams that are struggling and on major losing streaks. They always seem to come into our building and embarrass us.

  49. HageLinMcCalPruBoylahan on

i meant that to your first comment. NOT to the other guys needing to start getting offensive

  50. if w were the same spot as last year, all these pro duby guys would be desperate to dump duby. only cuz were winning is everyone more lenienton him

  51. They don’t beat the Islanders often enough, Carp – they should never lose to them…or the Devils earlier in the season when they blew…didn’t dominate them…

  52. Tiki XLII XLVI on

We got better chances on the 5 on 4 than on the 5 on 3. Completely bothced the 5 on 3. Just get the puck high to low and across.

  53. One game on local TV in Cleveland this year and of course the Cavaliers are playing the end of their game at the same time and my cable system doesn’t have the FSN Ohio alternate. They played the whole Cavs post game show before switching to the Blue Jackets! Got on TV right when the 5 on 3 began.

  54. “eric February 19th, 2012 at 9:19 pm

    jimbo

beat habs at home the WORLD WOULD HAVE TO END FOR US TO WIN IN MONTREAL”

They have until dec 21st, 2012:-)

  55. ZzZz NYR ZzZz© " Don't stepan the logo!!!"...says Greg L. on

so calm , so passive …the game is very controlled by the good guys. We pass like a team , give and gos and other great plays. The last two on one we forced the cross crease and fail but it finally shows our guy get it. This is a BEUTY to watch .

    LETS GO RANGERS!!!!

  56. And Carolina – Skinner the figure skater kills us pretty regularly, while the Isles have beaten them four times this season..

  57. Jimbo

Depends how you’re defining “weak”, but the Rangers’ only have two home defeats to teams currently outside the playoff positions (a SO loss to Tampa Bay and a 1-0 loss to Dallas).

  58. Someone should tell Sam and Joe Dubinsky isn’t making $4 mil to do “other things well”.

  59. OK on Carolina, LW and Carp – I must still be smarting from past years…

    We’re gonna get jobbed here…

  60. Tiki XLII XLVI on

The Puck hit the referee to stay in the zone and give us a goal!!!!!!

    SCOREEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  61. Tiki XLII XLVI on

ilb, “the official clock is in Toronto” is code for they’ll decide how and when they’ll cheat us. LOL :) No proof for the Rangers or the viewing audience.

  62. look at the bright side, Delzotto didn’t score a goal against columbus, if he did, Howson would make it a deal breaker, no delzotto, no Nash .:-).

  63. ZzZz NYR ZzZz© " Don't stepan the logo!!!"...says Greg L. on

Yeah because if everyone has the wrong time , why the holey hell is the time shown at all!!???

  64. nice 5 on 3, pattycake wit hthe puck for 45 seconds.

they need Boyle to take the faceoff at the start of the 5 on 3, if Stepan cannot win faceoffs in that situation they need someone else to take the faceoff.

staal with a 2 on 1 earlier did not even get a shot off.. shoot the puck……

the no goal, is all that is wrong with the NHL. head scratchter………

  65. please keep in mind columbus got screwed against the kings a couple of weeks ago to lose a game when the clock stopped.

maybe toronto owed them one there

  66. The “war zone” reviews all goals and has the official clock. But yes, the viewers should be able to see it

  67. is Nash even playing?

jeff carter looks horrible, he will probably go bananas in the 3rd but Carter should give Columbus a refund…

  68. HageLinMcCalPruBoylahan on

with all the technology out there today, how does this league NOT have synchronized time clocks???? HOW???? TELL ME !!! I’m shaking fists!

  69. Boom Boom Bathgate on

If the clock in Toronto is different from the clock in NY, it completely defeats the purpose of having an out-of-town official clock. What garbage.

Maloney said the puck was in the back of the net with 1/10th of a second remaining on the MSG clock. Of course, in the Bettman era, nothing that is broken is ever fixed, while alot that is fixed is broken.

  70. It all has to do with the position of the sun and the moon and in a leap year, the space-time continuum is self-correcting for the presence of an extra day that is accounted for in the quarters of days in the prior three years and the current one.

  71. Yes, two home losses to the Leafs (and two to the Senators), Jimbo. But they are currently a playoff team, as flawed as they are. Plus the Rangers weren’t leading the conference at the time either. Hardly a total disgrace to lose to them.

  72. ZzZz NYR ZzZz© " Don't stepan the logo!!!"...says Greg L. on

Why show the time if its wrong!!???

Ya get the fans all mad , there the ones that pay the tickets , the coach gets upset…why would they have the wrong time!!??? Why display a bogus time!!???? Why the heck aint the NHL advising teams to display the real time!!!! The time is important and to have a goal disallowed when in our PLAIN site the goal was good. This is not good for bizness nor is it good for the fans who will have sour taste if we lose. The time is a joke as far as im concerned , its a fake!!! The time is all just a number that we watch but it has no meaning. The time blows.

  73. luckily Columbus is garbage and the only way the Rangers lose this game in regulation is if Torts decides to use the prevent defense right now.

No reason why the Rangers can’t pour more goals on this awful team…

  74. I tend to agree with eric – too many years of Ranger pain in my constitution….I hope we’re wrong!

We lost to an (at the time) horrible Dallas team here at home, too…and then lost to a terrible (at the time) St. Louis team on the road the next game….we lose too many games to losers! Edmonton and Toronto included.

  75. ZzZz NYR ZzZz© " Don't stepan the logo!!!"...says Greg L. on

Oleo , yeah its true we can pop in a few but it just doesn’t seem just.

GO RANGERS!!! Blow out Rick Nashs KNEE!!!! haha just kiddin!!!

    RANGERS

    RANGERS

    RANGERS are number # 1 !!!

  76. jimbo

we have gotten a lot better about losing to bad teams at home i just said for sure i get more nervous for these types of game then i do a divisional game

  77. Two things:

    1. Yes, the league should make sure the official clock is available to the broadcasters.

    2. Still, no excuse for Sam and Joe (and arguably the players too) to not know that they weren’t looking at the official clock. Not the first time this has happened, is it?

  78. LW, Toronto was a much better performing team back then, but not so for Ottawa – we let too many crappy teams off the hook is all I’m saying….

True, we weren’t that great at the very beginning of the season either, but to lose to Edmonton? Geez!

  79. Tiki XLII XLVI on

Trautwig just said they take the clock right off the arena scoreboard. So what’s not official about it?…

  80. 3-2 columbus i feel it. this clock thing will be a topic tom after linsanity and yanks and mets spring training and golf and whatever else goes on

  81. I agree with that, eric – we *are* better than last year and years before – but I’d love to see more of a “killer instinct” from our team – a “no quarter given under any circumstances” type of attitude!

  82. Trautwig is kinda clueless though plus playing the whole Rangers got screwed card check back for an explanation makes for better ratings…

  83. Because Van Massenhoven is a . I don’t believe him. Toronto probably said it was a good goal and he just lied!!!

  84. “Watching MSG on Slingbox, puck went in with 0.1. On FSN Ohio, it was 0.2. Then Toronto must be another tenth ahead of MSG Network.”

which is EXACTLY why they have an official clock in Toronto since clearly there is a discrepancy…

  85. just like the moore hits on Feds
with the extra angle that Shanny showed
    a couple days later

the NHL should be providing the OFFICIAL
    video to the broadcast.
    just looks incredibly shifty
and bad for a pro league

  86. They have always said that the “burn-in” on the overhead is the official clock. This is news to me that there is another magical clock in Toronto which is ridiculous. What’s the speed of light and mileage from NY to TOR? Is that the difference between the clocks?

  87. Whatever this whole official clock/arena clock thing it is, the NHL has to fix it. It is embarrassing.
You don’t see something like this in other sports.

  88. Well, Toronto is to the east of us, isn’t it? I have to look at a map – maybe they think they’re on maritime time!

  89. Why is MSG even bothering showing the clock counting down during this period?? It’s not official! For all we know there could be 4 minutes left in this game right now.

  90. HageLinMcCalPruBoylahan on

the official clock is with the Ark of the Covenant, the Holy Grail, the recipe for Dr. Pepper, and Mr. ( or Mrs) Right.

  91. Jimbo

Just a bit unrealistic to expect any good team, especially one like the Rangers who rarely blow out the opposition, to beat weaker teams _every_ time.

I’ve lost count of the number of times this season people on here have posted “trap game” or “potential let-down” before a game or assumed a loss during a game, but the Rangers have ended up winning.

And nice pre *Crosby update* update from Sam there.

  92. I hate to be a Negative Nelly but this is starting to feel like a late Columbus goal to tie it and a skills competition loss

  93. If Toronto had the official clock, why did the Kings goal count? Shouldn’t the “official” clock not have stopped?

  94. I know, LW – I’m just venting my years of frustration here, don’t mind me! ;-D

No *great* team can even win them all – but Detroit may just have something to say about that though, if they keep this streak going…

  95. I’m *always* waiting for the other shoe to drop, when it comes to the Rangers having a good record – I still live in fear of a late-season collapse..

  96. Ever since the 7 seconds-left goal by Valerie Smellypumpkin, I’m a die-hard defeatist when it comes to this team..

  97. Alright. I just don’t get how the clock on the ice, the one that the players use for their on-ice playing, is not official. How does Toronto have a more official clock than the one on the ice?

  98. HageLinMcCalPruBoylahan on

we have a surgeon down here, Dr Campbell, and he does Colonoscopies. EVERY SINGLE TIME i see a colonoscopy report with his name on it, i laugh at the irony.

    ASSHAT

  99. Jimbo, I am trying to be more positive this year because I really like this team. But if you have been a fan of this franchise for any decent length of time, it is very hard not to expect the worst at all times

  100. >>>Jimbo, but there’s still the breakaway contest after the hockey game ends.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

  101. JimboWoodside February 19th, 2012 at 10:19 pm

The official clock must have seen Malkin’s face!!

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  102. HageLinMcCalPruBoylahan on

is the official clock set to the atomic clock? cuz if it’s not, it’s still wrong

  103. >>>He must be a crack proctologist Linda…

There are more lines that can be added to that, but not here…..

  104. HageLinMcCalPruBoylahan on

OH SAM PLEASE!!!!!!!!!! what’s worse, the Crosby updates or all his lin references??

  105. “79.3 Face-Off Location – When a hand pass violation has occurred, the ensuing face-off shall take place at the nearest face-off spot in the zone where the offense occurred, unless the offending team gains a territorial advantage, then the face-off shall be at the nearest face-ff spot in the zone where the stoppage of play occurred, unless otherwise covered in the rules. When a hand pass violation occurs by a team in their attacking zone, the ensuing face-off shall be conducted at one of the face-off spots outside the defending team’s blue line in the neutral zone.”

Can anyone explain to me why the face-off was in the Rangers zone?

  106. well
was just joking with jpg’s sister
    that
if pens game goes to a SO
it will be Bickel who will win it.

he may get his chance tonight.

  107. faceoff are a disaster for this team.

how ironic nash ties it could see this script now prospal wins it

  108. If the people chanting “We don’t want you” are the Avery chanters/Jagr booers, then suddenly I’m 100% behind acquiring Nash.

  109. Seriously, though, can anyone tell me why the face-off was in the Rangers zone? If I’m missing something, I’d like clarification. This is the rule:

“79.3 Face-Off Location – When a hand pass violation has occurred, the ensuing face-off shall take place at the nearest face-off spot in the zone where the offense occurred, unless the offending team gains a territorial advantage, then the face-off shall be at the nearest face-ff spot in the zone where the stoppage of play occurred, unless otherwise covered in the rules. When a hand pass violation occurs by a team in their attacking zone, the ensuing face-off shall be conducted at one of the face-off spots outside the defending team’s blue line in the neutral zone.”

The Rangers hand pass took place in their defensive end and it was collected in the neutral zone. The stoppage of play occurred in the neutral zone. Why wasn’t the face-off in the neutral zone?

  110. Columbus can keep their Nash. Or shove him where the sun doesn’t sun. Just stay away from the Rangers.

  111. HE SCORES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    YEAH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  112. Did Prust just go for MDZ’s del zottos??? Thank heavens that ended as quickly and well as it did. Phew!

  113. A 4 win NY Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Rangers and Knicks win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Bruins and Celtics lose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  114. But having said that, as Miami Pimp would say, it’s BUSH-LEAGUE that we had to suffer this much to beat a team that only has 40 points in our home arena!

  115. ok, I see Nash got his goal, makes some ranger fans want him. According to the blue jackets beat writer you want to give up Delzotto and Kreider because that is some of the players Howson wants in the trade.

  116. agreed Jimbo- if we wanna call ourselves an elite team this game should have been over the first twenty minutes. you have to beat a time like this 5-0.

  117. No you don’t beuk23. You just have to win. No matter how… I thought that was pretty obvious?

  118. beuk, sorry, but you cant expect an elite team to take a dump on every lower echelon team. Hockey doesnt work that way.

  119. the rangers will NEVER BEAT ANYONE 5-0

THEY MAKE US SUFFER. THE PLAYOFF RIDE WILL BE NOTHING BUT AGGRAVATION

  120. mdz was the first star for sure.

after emminger went down he did not play any more shifts.

yep, trade MDZ. 21 year old stud d men grow on trees…. He loves the diagonal pass down low… 3 times in a week.

  121. Yes, Beuk – that’s how I feel…..habs of the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s killed their inferior opponents..and I hate to say it, but the Isles of the early 80’s did the same thing – no quarter asked for – or given!

  122. stepan is great on the boards and he wins a ton of 1 on 1 battles for a smallish guy.

he is only 21, maybe they should trade him along with MDZ, kredier and a 1st for Nash.

If that is not enough maybe they can add some more pieces to the trade!!!!!!!!!!!!

Insane…Rental. Rangers should get a rental forward with some skill and that is it……..

  123. Flyers of the mid-70’s – they beat every team in any way they wanted to play…Edmonton was the same way..

THAT’S the kind of team I want!

  124. >>>Jimbo, this is post lockout hockey, that doesn’t happen anymore.

I understand that – but that doesn’t mean that you don’t strive to be that kind of a team – look at Detroit – consistently good…year in, year out, they’re competitive, and occasionally dominating.

  125. And that’s all for me tonight….sorry I missed the laughs, but I am bush leagued. Niters and ta all!!!

  126. >>>It’s Good Feeling by Flo Rida

That’s not the song that Amstel or some other Dutch beer company was using a few years ago, was it?

  127. agree that an elite team should beat up
    on an inferior one
    but
    we’re also dealing with
    an nhl that encourages parity

  128. I agree on that we want to strive to be like that Jimbo but even the Red Wings aren’t destroying teams by large margins on most nights. The NHL is much more balanced now

  129. I don’t think the win in OT over the worst team in the league means anything one way or another. They made Columbus look exactly what they are. The worst team in the league. The difference is, a couple of years ago they would’ve lost it in overtime even if they played the same way.

  130. three utter jokes this evening:

    1) that nonsense with the clock in which the NHL was able to just make up a reason why the goal shouldn’t count

    2) Rangers not blowing this team out

    3) Ryan Callahan being named the first star

  131. I still don’t like the prevent defense. Great players find a way to score if you give them the chance regardless of how great Henrik is.

  132. Hank was ok tonight – made one or two good saves but that was about it. Mason, who’s had a terrible year, probably outplayed Lundqvist tonight.

and that Nash goal was soft.

  133. I know – I just want a dominating team – it may not be realistic, but a guy can dream, can’t he!?

  134. Cally looked a little embarassed out there
    as number one star.

he had a good game but should have
been MDZ if they weren’t going to give it
    to Artie or Step

  135. HageLinCalPruBoylahan on

    MDZ deserved a star

I’m so furious with FB right now! Hell if you’re gonna give us words to type, at least make them somewhat readable! hartnellers

  136. Lloyd: what should they play, then?

Good Feeling is like the equivalent of Get Ready for This or all those 90’s Jock Jam style songs.

  137. “Did Prust just go for MDZ’s del zottos???”

I took a quick iphone video of this and have watched it way too many times. You can tell (1) MDZ has been tapped by Prust dozens of times and (2) he immediately knows Prust was never actually going to tap him that time. I wish I could post it here, its spectacular.

  138. I’m not sure if it’s possible for a reporter not to ask a stupid question after a game. I’m not a fan of Tortorella’s approach, but how many times can you answer, “How’d the team do tonight?” before you’d want to vomit.

  139. so a one hour special telling us how construction workers are honored to work on the renovation and how it will stick with them forever…

  140. MSG’s postgame coverage of the Rangers is pathetic compared to what they do with the Knicks… heck they interview Jared Jeffries…

  141. It could be worse, eric – and it probably will be! I’m surprised it’s not a LIN-sanity special show…

  142. >>>so a one hour special telling us how construction workers are honored to work on the renovation and how it will stick with them forever…

You would see how honored they would be if they weren’t making NYC Union Scale….

  143. HageLinCalPruBoylahan on

    spider, great pic lol

Jimbo,i put up a pic of flava flav with his clock… then my account got suspended and with their ridiculous ‘type these words in ‘ bs, i’m typing words exactly as they look and they are telling me they are wrong, so i try again, and you can barely read this shizzy

  144. so they do that stars of the game voting like halfway through the third, right

even, so, how does Callahan get first star

  145. Oh! One of those “Captcha” thingies!? I hate those! Why would Flavor Flav make them do that, I wonder!?

  146. Ill never understand. Who gives a carcillo who gets the stars. We won the game. We won the game.

  147. >>>>>>so a one hour special telling us how construction workers are honored to work on the renovation and how it will stick with them forever…

Ask them to relax some ridiculous union rules, and see them tear the building down to the foundation – honored, indeed.

  148. LIN, do you remember the name of that MSG documentary within the last calendar year about the 94 Rangers? I lost it off one of my DVRs because Im a lazy turd and I dont think Ill ever be able to get it again.

  149. The outburst of negativity around 9:30 in this thread by two of
the Positive Petunia squad was disheartening.

Almost as much as Ricky C’s use of his Fog Machine regarding
the acquisition of the NHL’s Minus leader….

  150. callahan played fine but he wa snot 1 of the 3 stars of the game.

drunk writers probably vote on it.

    mdz, aa, and stepan….

81 points and no elite scorers and a bad PP, how do the ydo it? Great defense, great goalie, and there forecheck…..

  151. jimbo:

yeah, you’re right. probably best to just to bring in some illegals off the back of a pick-up truck.

  152. Ricky N. is now producing a goal for approximately every
    $275,000 dollars.

    Get him Uncle Glen!!!!!!

  153. Yes Lloyd – and the Union’s leaders agree with you! They have nothing to say about illegals taking jobs from union men!

  154. I agree stuart a MDZ should have been one of the stars. Wasn’t he double shifted? Because of him, got OT win, I think
