  1. 2nd! Welcome back Carp..

I am jonesing for some Ranger Hockey.

That being said, GO HAGS! Show off those jets..

  2. OTTAWA — The Devils’ ownership situation remains unsolved and in limbo with the sale of part of the team not on the agenda for approval by the NHL Board of Governors here today.

Instead, the Governors are expected to hear an overview of the Devils’ financial situation, perhaps including the possible transfer of Ray Chambers’ 47 percent stake in the team.

Chambers was to pay $25 million to walk away from his share of the team. That unusual plan has not been okayed by the Governors, and its absence from today’s agenda could be significant.

The board may also be briefed on alternate plans for keeping the Devils out of bankruptcy this summer. The team is believed to have an $80 million payment hanging over its head, with more said to be coming soon.

The Governors are also expected to hear overviews of some other teams’ financial situations, probably including Phoenix.

If this is the case, how could they afford to sign Parise to a long term contract? The idea of signing a young sniper like Zach without giving up young talent is exciting. Really hope the Rangers are players for him. I love what he brings!

  3. Parise would be such a good fit.

    I hope Hagelin BRINGS IT.

Brings skill, that is. Not bush-leagueness.

  4. Pimp, I am assuming that you mean that Parise is a no talent loser and would just be joing a bunch of no talent losers if he was signed by the Rangers? ;-)

  5. This blog needs an official sponsor.
How about “The Vandelay Industries Rangers Report with Rick Carpiniello.

  6. People actually watch this stuff? Really? They don’t have better things to do like clean the grout in the bathroom?

You’ve either got to be a real hard core hockey fan to watch this stuff or else really really bored.

  7. If you’re going to make a conparison to the skills comp, forget the blog having a sponsor, how about every post.

$80MM? How is there some $80MM payment somewhere that they didn’t budget properly for? Does anyone know what this mystery payment is for?

The Pendant Publishing “Post Game Notes” thread.

The Chiles & Chiles, LLC “Injury Report” thread.

The Kruger Industrial Smoothing “Tortorella Pre-Game” thread.

The Kramerica Corp. “Player Suspension Report” thread. They want to play dirty? Well there’s nothing dirtier than a giant ball of oil.

  9. eddie eddie eddie on

Jbytes…i think bettman has early onset parkinson’s…..his speech tends to slur as well……either that, or he likes to throw back one or two or three, etc etc

  10. Afternoon All,

    Just something to think about…

With all the names that have been thrown around here in trade rumors – one player who has not been mentioned and perhaps should be, is Eric Staal.

Think about it – Carolina is in complete rebuilding mode. Staal has had a subpar year, in part because of brother Marc’s health issues.

However, when he’s on his game – he is one of the premier power forwards in the NHL. Eric Staal possesses the skill, speed and snarl that the coach loves. And quite honestly, a change of scenery would be good for this player. Plus, he is a Stanley Cup winner.

    He’s 27 years old.
According to, he’s signed through 2016 with an annual cap hit of 8.25 mil – with an NTC.

If the Rangers would perhaps clear the decks this summer for Zach Parise, this guy might be worth a look as well.

Also depends on what Mr. Rutherford down in Raleigh would want in return…

  11. The Lumbar Yard “Injury Rehab Status” thread. Kittsmiller.

The Poppy’s “Anaheim Report” thread. They got good ducks there.

The Rochelle, Rochelle the Musical “Rangers European Swing” thread. Covering the Rangers from Milan to Minsk.

The Brandt Leland “Sean Avery Demotion” thread. His work has been reviewed and frankly it stinks. There’s now way they can keep him on.

  12. Johnny, LMAO. Avery doesn’t even work here. that’s what makes this so difficult.

Carp’s back Monday, rumor has it.

    Oh, hello there, Sally.

  13. The China Panda “Offsides” thread. It’s blacked out for anyone below 86th St. Street itself is boundary, no exceptions. If they let you read it what’s next, 85th St? Wall St.? Mexico? 84th St.?

  14. Who is this Carp of which you speak? Tonight’s losers brought to you by Drake’s Coffee Cake. They will crumble.

  15. Hello? Wow, today must be the slowest in head history…..
