Ya boys have lost two of their last three. Crisis! … as they begin a big week that includes the Penguins Thursday and the Boston matinee Saturday.
The Rangers play the Predators, who have won five in a row, eight of nine, and who play pretty much the exact same way the Rangers play.
Brandon Dubinsky and Ruslan Fedotenko are both expected to return, and if so, Wojtek Wolski will be prucha’d. Anders Lindback (2-4, 2.75) starts in goal vs. Henrik Lunqvist. Ryan Suter is expected to miss the game (injured) for the Preds.
It’s another NBCSN (aka Versus) game … which means a 7:30 start, no pre-game, no post-game. But for you T-W Cable people, it means you might get to see the game.

How come the Rangers (or any of the MSG teams) don’t do a postgame for every game, aside from playoffs? Mets and Yankees doing so was a smart idea. But don’t tell the Dolans what is smart. You might get sucker punched.
So much easier to be on the blog when I can watch the game on an actual teevee.
Rod – no not set plays, just a simpler way to enter the zone. Set plays would never work for this team, they don’t have the puck movers they’d need for it once they got in.
The breakout would be more freeflowing more than anything else. They have a current set play they used to enter the zone, but 2 guys are posted on the boards opposite each other and because they don’t have the passers, they can’t get into the zone.
Keeping it simpler works with this squad because their strengths are keeping the puck deep and funneling traffic to the net. It also will give a guy like DZ the opportunity to get more involved since the far side is open for him to straddle between the slot and the point.

Plus, their game below the hashmarks in the offensive zone penned in the Predators for long stretches
This tilt was very similar to the shutout victory in Toronto last Saturday – getting the lead and grinding the opposition into sawdust
