So happy for Girardi. I wonder how many in drafted players have been all stars?
I hope none of them get hurt!
*undrafted
I rather see Lundqvist, Gaborik, Girardi not play in the allstar game and get needed rest for the remainder of the season and the playoffs.
it’s a skate in the park, tomg. Lundqvist will play one period. Girardi will probably play 15 minutes.
... though that’s probably what we were thinking when Richter wrecked his knee in Toronto in 2000.
Not bad having only one less person than Ottawa, eh?
Good job for our boys.
Now all get “food poisoning” the day before the skills comp and spend the rest of the weekend recovering.
Hagelin got screwed from rookies.
Fat Guy
Any line Gillies felt comfortable with
Carp, skate in the park. Just ask DiPietro’s hip flexor.
Well deserved selections, they’ll represent us proud at the All Star Game.
Hank is the best goalie in the league at the half-way mark, and should not only get Vezina consideration but Hart Trophy consideration as well.
Gaborik has reclaimed his status as one of the true snipers in the game.
As for Dan Girardi….how can you not feel good for him? Undrafted, unheralded and under appreciated until this season.
I look at Girardi being for the Rangers what Kevin Lowe was for the Edmonton Oilers. A steady, tough defensive defenseman who can play against any other team’s top pairs.
Congratulations to the New York Rangers All Stars of 2012
Yea – it’s not like Girardi will be blocking shots at the game. It’s a light 15 minutes for him.
When did Stamkos take the lead in Goals scored at 29!?
It’s funny to see youse ranking Torts so high already… he hasn’t really done anything… yet.
Doodie, that’s a decent list (of coaches) you made, and you’re totally right, it’s hard to rank things in descending order of bad. I would swap Renny and Neilson for sure though…
It’s fun to see all these ‘new’ boneheads surfacing around here!
He’s a monster.
Well billy, aside from Keenan, no Rangers coach in the past half century has really “done anything”. But I agree, Nielsen had a couple of teams that were in the conversation for contention.
Carp
I emailed the gmail account you listed last night and got a threatening message from you in return.
Was there a reason you threatened me?
Sincerest regards,
Chris

NO Devils in All Star Line-up!
you forgot Caber and Vince A
Very proud to say that I was the first fan to meet Girardi when he walked into the play-by-play when he was at his first public appearance as a Ranger. Shook his hand and said “welcome to New York.” Seemed like a very nice guy when I met him. He looked so young I wasn’t even sure he was on the team until I started talking to him. Very happy he’s doing so well. Congrats on making the all-star team. Well deserved.
Chris, email me at rcarpini@lohud.com.
Henrique and Larsson got in for the Devils on the rookie team.
I was hoping that our old friend Tom Renney could have done the Rangers a favor and beaten the Devils last night but no such luck.
Future-Ranger, Zach Parise, won it in OT!
Very happy for our boys, well deserved…..Just take it easy out there, will you, that Richter’s knee still gives me nightmares.
From previous thread- welcome Gravy….
And Carp- not only Sather should not give him up for nothing to anyone, why should the team be responsible for his 1/4 (a little less now ) cap hit?
Good point, CT.
Actually Brodeur was invited to the all start game but he declined after finding out that there be no all you can eat buffet.
yea, that cracks me up. GM’s calling sather to ask him to place avery on waivers so they can claim him. Give the rangers a draft pick and I’m sure the rangers will be happy to give avery away.
Hey, that’s LW’s job, CCCP….
Anyone want to see Alex Ovechkin, literally, explode?

Careful, ilb –
CCCPtakes no prisoners.manny? it is me, duckbill… how have you being?
ha, n1 NYR
Hey Duckbill. How have you been, buddy? Great to hear from you. I have been pretty good. Thanks for asking!
Congrats to Gabby, Danny G and Hankie. Now, listen up, boys. DO NOT GET HURT. Repeat after me…. I will not get hurt in the ASG.
NY Ranger fans I just saw an an offering on Living Social for 2 NY Ranger tix, plus food and an autograph puck session w seats in the 100 section for $200 bucks, fyi
Manny
don’t forget Groucho Marx
CONGRATS!!!
to
Hank
Gabby
and the Blockness Monster
for allstar selection.
still wish that they were off that time to rest.
BE CAREFUL BOYS!!!!
ilb
LW isn’t around right now… so i filled in for him! Sorry, LW! Did not mean to steal your bread! :P
Avery deserves to be at the ASG! Another Torts conspiracy! ;)
“I don’t mind stealing bread / From the mouths of decadence / I’m going hungry”
Temple of the Dog, that should have been a much more awesome mega group than it actually was.
You speaketh the truth, CT. Vibin’
Why wasn’t Christensen picked? We’ve seen his skills in the skills competition and they are ridiculous…
Also rumor is Dubi out tonight, WW in.
Hey Carp, where is Joe “Rangers are soft” Thornton? How about the rest of the Sharks? Just Couture?
Relieved Hagelin didn’t make it. I was having nightmares of him in the fastest skater competition, catch a rut, wiping out and crashing into the boards. Career over. It’s bound to happen for some unfortunate player. They should put the same kind of padding in the corners that those short track speed skaters have. It’s bound to happen.
Woolski’s playing – alright!! Can’t wait to see him glide around the rink like Jimmy MacElroy.
At first I questioned why Hagelin didn’t make it for the rookies but everyone they selected over him is more deserving…
Hagelin still might have a shot if Ryan Nugent-Hopkins can’t play because of his shoulder injury.
What do you mean Girardi will only play 15 min in ASG? Torts is the coach, remember? Expect him to play at least 27 min of ES, every PK, and some PP time too. Using the Fibonacci numbers, that amounts to 89 min of TOI :-)
Are they going to have a shot blocking contest at the skills competition?
well actually he should be in there over Couturier
Carp, what level is the press box on where you sit?
Stamkos had a hat trick on new years eve and has had about a goal per game since then to take a huge lead over Gab & friends
lol Ilb Fibonacci—How ‘bout 987 seconds of ice-time (roughly 16 1/2 minutes)?
BANJ that’s a good idea about the padding. It wouldn’t hurt to do it…
Manny – yes on shot blocking comp
Good news – Danny G is the favorite
Bad news – Chara is taking the slappers
Seond attempt of this post:
Manny aboot #3 on that list of great people, check out this video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WezyyL5j2U
No Stranger! That sounds so scary!
Banj – my list was mostly a joke. Thanks for the vid, kid!
Ha, leave it to Penn to make Ghandi look bad. Ghandi? Really? Penn’s a blowhard know-it-all that should take the lead of his partner Teller and SHUT IT every now and again lol
Seriously though, what’s next, the dark side of Mother Theresa?
I think Christopher Hitchens wrote the Dark Side of Madre Teresa.
I guess I can just replace my controversial list with Baba Amte instead of Gandhi. I figured Nietzche would be more controversial.
I too wish the Rangers stayed home instead of playing in the ASG. Richter got hurt in the skills competition (and I’m not talking shoot-out, Carp) so pray Hank doesn’t either. And as much as I’m proud for Girardi having his first half rewarded by the AS nod, who really plays defense in the ASG?
Can we add Bob Gainey to that list?
Wow, Manny… I had no idea. I’m in such disbelief. What’s next, the Imperfect Qualities of President Clinton? What a mockery!
Billy: “Seriously though, what’s next, the dark side of Mother Theresa?”
If you didn’t like the Ghandi one then you’ll hate the Mother Teresa part. Both were part of their “Holier Than Thou” episode. Lol!
BANJ—Ha! I was just kidding about the Mother Theresa thing! Leave it to Penn and Teller—a couple of real Professional Jokes!
Artie – Henke had no issues last year in the shootout competition. I think he knows he needs to rest himself. I remember he let a few in that he normally wouldn’t have because he didn’t overly stretch himself.
Also Hags was definitely considered, but the rookies that got in are having even better seasons.
Yea people do not like Mother Theresa. My mom’s name is Theresa actually. I like that Mother Theresa. As they say in StepBrothers “My mother is a Saint! You keep your liver spotted hands off of her!”
Stranger Nation:
If you are right about Torts being reluctant to upgrade Hags to PP time, in deference to “getting Dubi going,” that is like benching MDZ to get Wade Redden going. I mean, at SOME POINT you just have to defer to ABILITY, unless, of course, you are grooming a future “clubhouse mentor,” in which case it is completely logical and unassailable as a winning percentage strategy.
Boats and hoes!
Couldn’t Girardi technically be on the team playing AGAINST Torts?
That’s right billy! “Gotta get me some Boats n Hoes!”
I enjoy seeing here that we have some moles who contribute NOTHING other than being critical of EVERYTHING. Talking about YOU iLB2001 – you are a human version of a stagnant sewer.

Miami in the house
lol Sally you left a lot out of that line :D
Laughs? I cry every night just thinking about how there’s definitely an impending 20-game losing streak on the horizon …
Get ready to battle for 8th place.
Official: Wolski in for Dubinsky tonight. Lundqvist in goal.
“Maybe i should put a disclaimer in the Terms of Service below for newcomers, that no matter what happens, Miami Pimp will call his favorite team “Bush-leaguer” “Amateur Hour” “No-talent” “Clowns” and worse. And that he means it in the nicest way possible.”
CARP,
Don’t forget “two-bit” as well as “belonging to XYZ Central American league”
Wolski???? for Dubinski?????
Ok, I’m sorry, but that totally substantiates a “bush-league” from me.
Ugh… maybe Dubi is banged up a little? Does that fit into the equation at all Carp? Dubi has been quiet but he’s been doing a lot of things that kill the opponent..
Maybe WW comes into the game a man possessed. Or maybe not. I’m 99% sure either one will happen.
and half-aasen.
It’s 100 percent because he’s banged up. Hurt his shoulder last game.
Wolski will go -4 tonight, count on it.
Shoulder, it was in waseka before, billy
Watch WW get PP time before Hags. Thanks, Coach, you drip dry version of a San Francisco bath house.
OH< ok, good, I mean, BAD, but you know what I mean. I really usually don't pay attention to Waseka :/
Enjoy the game everyone, I'm off for a little overnighter snowboarding/knuckledragging trip. WOOOOOOooooooooooooo
Let's Go Rangers!!!!!
Brilliant, Sally!
Woo, Boom Boom. Really Racist….for no reason…why?
ilbster, the duckbill wishes you safe sojourn.

Something about glass houses and stonesI will ask the ilbster and Boom Boom to please refrain from personal attacks. That is not what this blog is about. This blog is like any good Beetles song: giving love and peace a chance. Imagine?
Thanks, duckbill…..
Don’t, CTB, unless you want to be labeled….not worth it. I don’t believe we are dealing with mentally stable person, in case you haven’t figured it out yet.
Duckbill- I was under the impression that duckbill enjoyed such a theater ? :-)
duckbill = All Star
i was just teasing..lol i do like the theatre…:)
I will not provide you with any, not anymore, sorry duckbill. A mammal that lays eggs, eh? :-)
As much as we think the boys should take it easy, I have no doubt that Girardi is as proud as anyone to play in ASG. Undrafted my foot!
Yeah Dubi had X-Rays the other night as a precaution. But he’s being kept out since it’s bruised.
If the Rangers lose, I still bet on these being the top 3 reasons why people here say they lost:
3) Torts is a bad coach and needs to be fired
2) It’s Wolski’s fault, because he plays 40 minutes a night and sucks
1) Because Avery wasn’t dressed
0) Because they’re utter garbage, bordering on bush-league
Yeah, Miami, but you’ll say that if they win, too.
Bordering Miami? I thought that line had been reached and breached quite some time ago.
nyr_fandom…ty…duckbill likes you
miami, i thought your routine was a tad more humourful when we thought you weren’t staging your bush-league anticks. Does that make sense? If, yes, then type 1.
BORDERING? Miami, if they lose, the #1 would be because you started to compliment them…
duckbill had quayle eggs for lunch where is the latona for my lunchbox award
Miami is right. Team is terrible. I wish we could be like the Devils. I think with the new realignment going on, 8th place is the new 1st place!!!
new post.
Guys, you’re right, my so-called “routine” is getting old.
The truth is I love the NYRangers … they are #1 in the Atlantic, #1 in the East, and #1 Overall. They are so good, they can win without another sniper and with a PP that always takes the night off … otherwise we’d blow away teams too easily.
Hank is the greatest goalie this league has ever seen and Gaborik – if he didn’t drink a six-pack before each match – would score a hat trick every other game.
Rangers win 6-0 tonight.
PROFESSIONAL-HOUR, here we come!
Dubi was crunched into side boards leaving zone last game. Was hit pretty hard and went down to his knees, which I thought was part of his strategy, as he got slammed into boards in front of Ranger bench – Right Shoulder, I think, if I fading memory is working.
This is why you have depth. It does open the door for some PP for Prince Carl – but my guess is Wolski and his velvet hands get that slot.
Will Sens respond to Wolski’s concussion-causing elbow to Alfredsson?
