After tonight’s game the Rangers will be halfway through their season.
Ya boys have won five in a row and 10 of 11, and lead the entire National freakin’ Hockey League in points.
Three of their players — Henrik Lundqvist, Marian Gaborik and Dan Girardi were named today to the all-star game, along with coach John Tortorella.
Brandon Dubinsky (shoulder) will sit this one out, so Wojtek Wolski will be de-prucha’d. He hasn’t played since Nov. 5 due to hernia surgery, though he’s been a healthy scratch the last two games. He was involved in a hit on Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson, who suffered a concussion, in an early-season meeting.
Lundqvist — who has held opponents to two goals or fewer 21 times in 30 starts — is in goal against the Senators, who are 6-0-1 in their last seven, and who had four all-stars selected by ballot-box-stuffing fans.
LIVE CHAT TOMORROW: We’re planning a live chat tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. so be there with questions/comments about the first half of the season, the all-star picks, tonight’s game, Sean Avery (sorry, couldn’t resist), or anything else you care to discuss.
Just do me a favor and please use a username when you ask a question or comment. It just makes it easier on me. Thanks.
