After tonight’s game the Rangers will be halfway through their season.
Ya boys have won five in a row and 10 of 11, and lead the entire National freakin’ Hockey League in points.
Three of their players—Henrik Lundqvist, Marian Gaborik and Dan Girardi were named today to the all-star game, along with coach John Tortorella.
Brandon Dubinsky (shoulder) will sit this one out, so Wojtek Wolski will be de-prucha’d. He hasn’t played since Nov. 5 due to hernia surgery, though he’s been a healthy scratch the last two games. He was involved in a hit on Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson, who suffered a concussion, in an early-season meeting.
Lundqvist—who has held opponents to two goals or fewer 21 times in 30 starts—is in goal against the Senators, who are 6-0-1 in their last seven, and who had four all-stars selected by ballot-box-stuffing fans.
LIVE CHAT TOMORROW: We’re planning a live chat tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. so be there with questions/comments about the first half of the season, the all-star picks, tonight’s game, Sean Avery (sorry, couldn’t resist), or anything else you care to discuss.
Just do me a favor and please use a username when you ask a question or comment. It just makes it easier on me. Thanks.
