This realignment sucked for most teams. People on Twitter seem to think the plan would have meant less travel. Only true for a few teams. What Eastern team would want this realignment? And the playoff format sucked.
Didn’t mind the travel, as it would have guaranteed my seeing the Rangers twice in SoCal. But the playoff system was screwy and not appropriate, IMO.

Honestly, I’m curious to see two things from this team at this point. 1) How they match up against Boston and 2) How they respond when they finally face some adversity. Once some bad luck hits Im curious to see how they’ll respond. Last year the first 3 game losing streak turned into a 6 game losing streak. If they can triumph over those two things I think I may start believing the hype!

they have dealt with much adversity already this season. no Staal for most of season, no Sauer, no Eminger. started season in Europe with crazy travel. I suspect that whatever may come there way, they will handle.

That has yet to be seen. I figure it’ll be a goaltender showdown with D playing a big part on both sides. Boston is the only team in the east that I see beating the Rangers in a 7-game series (barring major injuries)

They have faced adversity with their rotating D lineup, win games decisively because they are good, and never give up when they don’t score the first 1 or 2 goals. IDK what more adversity you’d expect them to go through other than a bunch of young kids in the playoffs.
With Staal back and his brain tightly screwed on this team is only going to get better.
Biron holding his own while Lundqvist gets so many rests (especially after getting run into so much in previous seasons) is a bonus.

Last year is not this year. Gaborik is healthy and on fire, Richards is now on the team, Dubi is BACK, MDZ is having a Norris year, Girardi improves every single game (will get the Norris snub), and the farm is tight.
Don’t live in the past or the future. The team we have right now is the team we got!
