Had some technical/deadline issues thanks to the shootout, earlier deadlines and a brand new computer system. So I never made it to the lockerroom. I did get to John Tortorella’s presser.
The coach did not allow Artem Anisimov to address the media regarding his rifle-shot celebration that touched off a melee, but defended Anisimov as a good kid. Tortorella did, however, admit that what he did was over the line, and he said he didn’t blame Tampa Bay for reacting as it did, and that he’d expect his team to react the same way.
Brad Richards said, “I don’t think Artie was doing it against their team, and obviously Vinny (Lecavalier) is going to think that without knowing Artie, so that happens. Artie won’t do that again. He wasn’t trying to embarrass anybody. He was celebrating a nice goal. But that’s what happens in hockey. We all move on from that.”
