Sean sounds subdued and very careful with what he says…Good question by Carp about whether Torts understands it’s not just a regular player….Was Torts clear on that?
I thought Tortorella answered most of the questions pretty well. You can’t really say that Avery is a special case because that’s not fair to the guys that have been with the team, etc., etc. Part of my issue is I don’t think Tortorella really believes this team has the tools to play consistently well, and in essence he’s just going to be riding the hot hand from one shift to the next. Maybe that’s the only way to catch a team with a serious talent deficit, but I also don’t think there’s any grand plan either.

Noah – There’s no point in media even asking about Staal at this point. There is no news until there is some new news. In truth, at best he won’t be back until Jan. and that’s if he start skating within the next week or so. It’ll take a few weeks of conditioning and skating. Then, it’ll take a few weeks of practicing which is hard in NYR busy schedule. Then, you still have to get to part where Crosby is at which is taking contact in practice and seeing how you react to it.

I think Turris gets traded before the Dec. 1 deadline. When you still have a month on a deadline it’s sounds great that Don Maloney is standing his ground on the issue but when it comes down to it, he’s going to want to get something for him. Turris is not the first guy who has wanted out of a team and won’t be the last.
