  1. Good morning, boneheads!

Nice to see Eddie3 is ready for the season, lol.

Again, trying to get a few ‘heads together for a couple of beers and some Jibberrish tomorrow before tge game. If interested, email me at ilb2001@nyp.org

  2. So rumour has it we were scouting the Oilers, presumably for a defenseman, who would we send the other way for say, Ryan Whitney? Not sure they’d take Wolski or Christy.

  3. Ryan Whitney is always hurt… played one game this season already…. I am doubting it is him… but he’s good…. I was hearing rumors of Suter from Nashville?

  4. very rarely do big trades happen this early in the season, especially for an all-star caliber player like Suter.

What I am hoping for is the Rangers to make a serious run at Shea Weber either at the deadline or during the summer.

  5. Good morning all! Can’t wait for tomorrow! E3, good to see you back dude!

    well, sadly, off to work…..later.

  6. I think over the past week or so i’ve read stories, tweets etc about loads of different d-men. Suter is definately the best of the bunch of names i’ve heard, others include Mara, Sarich, Finger, Campoli, Stralman, Cody Franson from the Leafs was also mentioned today by Pierre LeBrun.

Thing is it all depends on Staal and Sauer. If Sauer coming back this week steadies things a bit they may hold off and let Erixon, Eminger and MDZ continue, but if Staal is out for the season then i’d expect a move for a #3/#4 d-man who is maybe an impeding UFA/RFA to see us through this season. Plus its decision time on Erixon – he can play 2 more games before being allowed to go back to juniors – that could also influence a trade.

    Lots of ifs/buts/maybes….

  7. Jlone2Bubblehead (Namaste Henrik Lundqvist) on

I’m not sure how i feel about the defensman shopping. We currently have 4 solid NHL defensmen in Staal, Girardi, Saur and Mcnasty, none of which have peeked. We have 2 NHL ready that are developing in front of our eyes in DZ and Jan’s kid. Agreed, we have some injuries that leave significant holes in our back lines, but isnt this great for development of the kids and exposing them to the bumps early on? There is the possibility of sending Jans kid down for the year, but I think hes earned a spot..
My question is this, who sits or goes away when all are healthy. My guess is DZ and either WW, EC or both are on their way to whatever team needs to unload a big name, past his prime, senior citizen, orange cone of a defensman.
Is our back line in such a panic mode that we need to blow up the wall we started to build? I think not. We all miss Staal. It sounds like his treatment is not showing very promising results.

  8. I hear that Leetch is going to be introduced tomorrow as our new starting D man along side Girardi for the old “new” garden – Also that Neil Smith will replace Uncle Glennie and Messier is taking over the bench from Torts –

And the new hockey analyst on MSG? AVERY!

  9. UK, I could be wrong, but I don’t think Erixon is on EL SR contract. I think he is on standard EL two-way three year contract and can be freely sent to the AHL and come back without any issues.

  10. Buenos Diaz Cabezas!

We still need a new poll over there –> Maybe it could be predicting when Staaaaaaaaaaall returns? Just and IDEA.

  11. Yes, we are, Manny. He was especially prolific last night when the Fishsticks got shut out. He has been instrumental in helping them slide to where they belong- 12th place. Where is the troll John Tavares when we need to talk to him? :-)

  12. Stranger Nation on

Manny – Isles not scoring last three games so the assists are not piling up now. NYR are imperfect but play with grit and as the seasons progresses and defenses tighten up, we will see less from the PAPs of the league.

    Home Stand:

THU OCT 27 MAPLE LEAFS – (tie or win)
SAT OCT 29 SENATORS – (win)
MON OCT 31 SHARKS – (loss or tie)
THU NOV 3 DUCKS – (loss or tie)
SAT NOV 5 CANADIENS – (win)
SUN NOV 6 JETS – (win)

    get between 7 – 10 points out of 12 total – Above 7 good, below – bad

Love to B Rich get a multiple goal game in one (or both) of the first two.

  13. Haha, ilb. Good points, fair enough. I am just still kind of dumbfounded as to how he got away from the Rangers and why.

  14. BANJ (Occupying the previous thread.) on

    2009-Blue Man Group

    2010-Ace Frehley

    2011-John Stamos’ brother?

  15. Manny – he is just like any other former Ranger who when they play against the Rangers look like gretzky, Hull and Orr all in one!!! Did you watch Joke-In-In play the other night against us? I swear he must have taken skating lessons and learned how to really skate fast since we sent him back to the Flames –

  16. He has 7 assists so far this year. I don’t think all 7 were against the Rangers. I am aware that he elevates his play against our heroes (as does every ex-hero) but the kid can still play. But whatever. I don’t watch the games so I don’t know.

Great point Stranger – B. Richards has been a points ghost since the first 1 (maybe 2) games. I would love to see him get involved on the score card. Anybody know what B. Richards TOI has been lately?

  17. The hobbit has a concussion from the hit by Mair the other night…. :(

Mair got a four game suspension….it was a brutal hit…

  18. cccp- i am making excuses, but that was like the 5-6th game ive played online and u were better than every other opponent i faced. i was having trouble with my controls for some reason halfway thru our first game. sometimes i would stop skating or have trouble switching players. im sur u saw a few times when i no longer had the puck and my guy just kept going and it took a few seconds to switch to another player. maybe itsthe controller but do u have the same issues onlin? lik i sid im very new to online versusplay, so i will adjust and i want a remath later tonight!!! did u get kind of a lag or slight stutter problem during either game? i know i suck, but i played much better than i did last night. im changing my control scheme and some other things an get ready cuz im gonna get revenge!!

ohh, and p.s. that was hilarious when u put avery on the first line!! but i did lose alot fo closefights, but i loved whooping aves ass!! ok, i know i made a lt of excuses but i will come back from defeat. and dnt pull ur goalie so i can tie it up it makes me feel even more helpless!! my dignity and pride took a huge hit br. lol. it was fun though. lets get orr in a game too.

  19. Good morning, Carp!

Mama, those hats you posted yesterday were hot! I would totally rock one of those, even though it’d make me look like even more of a lesbian.

  20. Wait, wait, wait. How can Callahan have 26 shots? That seems like a ton of shots to me.

Sally – those are Borsalino’s. I have two (they make me look like a lesbian too) and if you win some contest here you could be the proud owner of at least one of them!

NYR – I will get one too and we can be a team – play people 2 on 1.

  21. Bob Zee Builder on

Looks like one of our apple draft picks is bruised. This what happens when you draft from the land of Lilliputian.

    Bob, a builder

  22. Manny – Frankly, I don’t understand why the Rangers let a lot of players go when they do. From what I’ve seen of Weise, he’s played better than anyone on the Rangers’ fourth line. And he would have been cheaper than anyone except Newbery. Then there’s Gilroy, who would have easily beat out both of the slugs on third pairing. And of course Parenteau. Of course, having him on the Tavares line could have a lot to do with his production this and last year.

  23. Amen, phil – Weise is another GREAT example.

Bob – I had no idea Mr. Gulliver was running the draft system! What’s next? Eating all babies born by any union involving a Ranger player?

  24. Oh and spot on about Gilroy – I wanted to keep him. I understand the cap hit and all but that kid was a quality offensive D-Man.

  25. True Blue Mike on

    Phil,
I thought they should have kept Weise as well but it seems like Tort’s didn’t think he would end up with this mess of a fourth line. Teams with 3 solid lines and a energy/checking 4th line seem to have better success than what we have. Rupp (Hit, Fight, Kill) – Christensen the Invisible – VV0l3k wOOksi

A fourth line of Rupp-Weise-Konopka would have been much better.

  26. I can’t imagine a coach watching Christensen the last few years and not thinking about giving Weise a shot.

  27. Actually – the more I think of it – the more insane that seems. Weise showed some great stuff last year. Fought when he had to, scored some goals and played hard. Now he is off in Vancouver – who admittedly is playing poorly now – playing 4th line on a _much_ more talented team.

Christensen, as I have said, is a simple rule change away from being completely useless.

Rupp – I think he is a solid 4th liner *if* he takes some fighting minutes away from Prust. Protect The Prust (who could use a nice kick in the assen so far)

Newbury is sold and I did call for him to be brought up last year as a 4th line and PP center because of his ability on faceoffs.

Wolski is up and down up and down, etc. I am still waiting for him to prove to me that he can play – and I will give him time after this wonky groin injury.

Zenon Konopka? The name alone makes a player like that PRICELESS.

  28. I don’t know Sally. I think Carp had some idea about best poster gets a hat type idea. I also suggested the hat thing where we all go to a game and wear hats (black fedoras) and sit together and show our solidarity.

I think you just win by showing up though so just wait until Carp hands you a crown and expect it in the mail!

  29. ranger fans love to trade 21 year olds for 28 year old guys who have already reached there prime…

  30. Grabby

    yeah yeah…excuses excuses! ;)

i am ready for you any time! ORR is a killer, though… his skill is crazy…he’s very hard to play against.

  31. Eddie Eddie Eddie on

Yo yo ma plays the cello, my favorite colors ate green and yellow, Eddie Shore on our D, Caber too, you will see, dead and slow you might say…..but dress them up and let them play

    Boyeeeeeee

  32. Eddie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  33. Manny, maybe I’ll design a poster explaining why I’m the best poster. How about another flow chart? I’ll get on that.

  34. Manny

I also was a big booster of Gilroy, and it was obvious that he’d not fit in with Torts. Torts has an unfortunate tendency to put guys in the wrong positions and then demanding perfection from them.

I now follow the Bolts closely and watch as many of their games as I can, and Gilroy has found his niche with them. He plays a very good RIGHT defense position and is picking up significant assists on the Pp.s

It’s quite obvious that he is well accepted down there in Tampa, and I will be amused to view his first encounter with the Rangers.

  35. Incidentally…..is this Suder the son of a guy named Gary Suder? I recall sainted cousin Jack finding a Suter mucho annos ago, and bringing him into the NHL either while scouting for the Caps, or later with central Scouting.

  36. Franklin Kistner on

My wife (Donna) and I are very excited about another new season. This is our 47th together. She taught me how to be a BLUESHIRT in 1965. Let’s GO Rangers! from Walnut Creek, CA
