New York, October 9, 2011 – New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that defenseman Brendan Bell has been assigned to the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League (AHL), and goaltender Scott Stajcer has been returned to Owen Sound of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

Carped!!
Antropov – another bust…...
First! Another miracle!
How are the Super Bowl champion Jets doing?
Thank you for the new string. I thought Erixon played well enough yesterday. MDZ a whale candidate when staal returns?
I didn’t see any Jet scores, other than the Winnipeg Jets…..
So, is Bell waived now? If they wanted to bring him back up, would he have to clear waivers from the rest of the league?
didn’t he already go through waivers?
There must be some kind of sucky flu going around NY sports teams.
Yes and yes.
I understand the value of awareness, but what do you think it costs the NFL to trot out all this pink equipment, etc.? What if they just donated that money to research?
You’re right, he did – but will he have to go through them again if he was to be recalled (probably not too likely)?
yes and yes? i thought once you go through waivers you don’t have to clear to go up and down?
Thanks, Paul – your answer was for my questions, right?
Hahaha!!! I call Antropov a bust, and he scores a goal – well, that’s good….
Yes he already cleared and yes he will require reentry. Sorry should have been more specific. But with woywitka unlikely he gets a call right. I figure woy is the 6/7 with Emmy when staal gets back and one of the kids not subject to waivers gets whaled. MDZ in dogfight with Erixon right now. Gotta figure.
The pink equipment is all P.R., IMO…...you’re right, the money could be better spent on research.
Gaborik’s a bust…
Fire Ryan?
Sanchez is a bust.
Horrible call on Byfuglien…..Habs score, 3-1….
Big Buff should accuse the refs of racism!!
Player who clears waivers and isn’t sent to AHL doesn’t have to go through waivers for 30 days. Whether the player needs to go through reentry waivers depends on his AHL salary. The cutoff is $115K this year, iirc
WPG needs a goalie – Pavelec is not doing well tonight….
Driving back from upstate. Well, mrs is driving, to be precise. The traffic just went from suck to blow.
ilb, ever try route 84 and Newburgh-Beacon bridge? It might add 20 minutes to the trip, but almost never a backup like the TZ or GW.
by the way, must be hockey season in Philly. Phillies went BUST! The Dream Team Eagles lost again today. What a shame.
The Jets look like the Thrashers.
Orr – fire Mike Tannenbaum. He’s had miserable drafts and made horrible personnel decisions this past off-season. He’s second only to Slats as the worst GM in NY.
That would add BQE, Carp. I go through NJ to Staten Island.
Who’s that, Leetch?
Speaking of Phillies. Both Snyder and Sather were wrong. At least in terms of baseball predictions. Fire both of them! Where is Olga?
Let’s just hope that the perennial goalie-fail in the playoffs continues for the Flys, if it doesn’t go bad during the regular season – so far, they’re looking pretty good.
>>>The Jets look like the Thrashers.
They sure do – maybe even worse, if that’s possible…
Grew up on staten island. No byfuglien, my family drove nick futiu’s mom to a few home games. We were former yellow seaters from mid 70’s. Family gave up and moved to Florida in 93. Good timing huh.
Jets need a goalie? Trade Lundqvist!
Jets need a goalie? There are goalies in football?
WTF. Stacjer to the OHL? He didn’t even get a chance to play. Torts clearly had made up his mind before going to Europe. Now because of Torts’ personal vendetta against Stacjer we lost a goaltender that could play well as a backup or as our starter. And he kept stupid good guy laughtime Biron instead? Fire Torts!
LOL. you forgot to call Torts an idiot, egomaniac, arrogant, etc.
Besides my own posts today, the most unusual and ridiculous things I read today was that our former beloved Betts was physically unfit and returned (!) back to Phily. Never knew such a things exist in league. Guess, I still have to learn something even in my age.LOL.
Carp,
Don’t provoke – it’s bob’s prerogative. He owes Torts, besides..
I heard that Betts story, too – he was “damaged goods”, so the team that picks him up on waivers can send him back? That sounds like some new kind of rule….?
I meant only bob reserved all rights to call him an idiot and demands fire squad for him in any post as a refrain.
freaking penguins about to go 3-0 on west canada trip. oilers suck. we should be so lucky to get 2 wins out there
Is Malkin playing tonight? He was kept off the ice for about 1/2 the game last night….
It’s only 1-0, eric – don’t give up just yet!
Teams seem to play worse against the Penguins. And it’s not because the Penguins are playing that well. They’re a good team, a very good team, no doubt (ft. Gwen Stefani). But it just seems so coincidental to me.
You’re right, Latona – and it’s even true when they’re without Skidley and Malkinstein…...
Fleury isn’t playing tonight, either…..
I just turned on the game, how does Nugent-Hopkins look?
He looks pretty good – he almost scored right at the beginning of the game….two names is enough for him, though!
Oilers look pretty dangerous on the PP. Of course they can’t score, though.
I was gonna say that the Oilers PP looks like the NYR PP, but at least the Oil is getting shots on goal. We can’t even put any rubber on the opposing goalie!
‘Tis an inconvenient truth, Jimbo.
You can definitely see the potential in this Oilers squad. Barring anything major, they should be awesome in a few seasons. Unlike the Islanders, who still don’t impress me.
Yeah, these Oiler kids look pretty good – the Isles sure didn’t look like much last night, but just wait until we get out there to visit them on Saturday – they’ll probably look like world-beaters.
That still isn’t saying much, Jimbo.
LOL! I picked the Isles as the 8th seed in the East. Still possible!
I feel that battling for playoff positions in our conference is gonna be a real dogfight this season – I hope that the Debbies and Fishsticks fall flat on their faces, but I’m not really expecting them to….
Is this thing on?
ORR
did you watch season finale of the breaking bad? wow!!!
Hell yeah! The Nug scores, assisted by Hall! Weeee!
1-1
Not yet, CC. After the game, I’m gonna knock down BB, then Dexter!
these shanny disciplinary videos are hilarious (ht to the ol twitter widget up in here, sons) ... http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console?id=127216 …reminds me of the ol’ duck and cover videos… DUCK and COVER!
Wow! Oilers take a five minute penalty, after tying the game. Fools!
Ryan Smyth with an elbowing major. Horrible timing.
Ok ORR…then i won’t say anything but holly insanity! :)
You wont say anything? I thought you might blackmail me into giving you Kovalchuckles! Bwaha!
Pens/Oilers going to OT. Nice finish to the game.
Go Hall/Nugent-Hopkins!
I picked up this kid Dubnyk. Maybe he might be a legit starter, as opposed to the hacks I keep picking up, like DiPietro, and Labarbera.
Who is Holly Insanity??
Dubnyk is surprising me….he looks pretty good tonight, too…
Hey, Wick! Have you considered my trade proposal?
haven’t looked, but will check it out in a bit!!
is kovulchuken in it?? LOL
That didn’t go in!?
I don’t even remember who I offered you, Wick. LOL!
I didn’t see the shot. I looked down for a second, then I looked up and the ref was waiving “no goal”
Do shootout goals count in the fantasy thingy?
Wow…
Sweet shot by Eberle
2-0 Oilers!! One more!
Omark trying to be waaaay too fancy.
Oilers win it!!
Renney 8-0 in season openers.
Well, they deprived Pitt of one point, anyway…
Lotsa good-looking kids on the Oilers….
Yeah, definitely.
So, enjoy your DVR’d TV programs!
We need Renney back stat! Then maybe we can trade Richards for Iginla and call Avery back up.
@wicky Holly Go-Lightly??
“LOL. you forgot to call Torts an idiot, egomaniac, arrogant, etc.”
troll
Carp = troll
LOL!
“How are the Super Bowl champion Jets doing?”

Comedy Central is showing “Makin of South Park” right now
Breaking Bad = Win
