WTB happened!? I didn’t see any of the game – thought it was a mistake until I saw the score here….

*8* goals against? Was Torts in goal today!?

  2. Good evening all! Wow, glad these teams aren’t in the NHL…WTB?

Haven’t had time to catch up since return home Sunday. What have I missed?

Latona, if you’re out there, I earned at least 25 lunch points for my 4 Chicago dogs in 2 days from Mustard’s Last Stand in Evanston. Holy hell!

These boys better get it together for the openers. I’m traveling far and spending kroners for this!!!!

  3. FYI, coincidentally got to watch last half of pre-season Blackhawks game while out last week in Chicago. Had a nice chat with a fan, who was asking me about Carcillo. Ha! I explained all about “carcillo.” We had a good laugh, but he did not look happy….

  4. The Puck must have looked as small as the type on your post Carp for Marty to give up 8. I guess I can watch the Yankees over the Ranger Rerun….

Although when the Rangers are on (even a rerun) I can’t resist.

LGR! Get it together by Friday.

  5. True Blue Mike on

Lmao guys chill. It was just a tired Rangers team against an energetic Swiss team that was going all out. The other team was making some amazing passes. Plus one of Zug’s goals was just a mistake by Biron and trickled in. Another one was Richards getting beat back on a PP and letting a shorthnder and another one was a empty netter.

  6. Finally there is an excuse to give somebody more deserving an “A” like Girardi or Boyle.

  7. Two Players Released, Four Assigned to ECHL Greenville

Connecticut Whale general manager Jim Schoenfeld today announced the following cuts from the team’s training camp roster:

Reassigned by the Whale to Greenville (ECHL):

    Defensemen (1): Sam Klassen

Forwards (3): Max Campbell, Brendan Connolly, Jason Wilson

    Released by the Whale:

Forwards (2): Tayler Jordan, Matt Rust

With those changes, the Whale now have 26 players in training camp:

Goal (2): Chad Johnson, Cameron Talbot

Defense (10): Lee Baldwin, Collin Bowman, Tim Erixon, T.J. Fast, Tomas Kundratek, Jyri Niemi, Jared Nightingale, Blake Parlett, Wade Redden, Pavel Valentenko

Forwards (14): Jonathan Audy-Marchessault, Ryan Bourque, Andre Deveaux, Tommy Grant, Carl Hagelin, Chad Kolarik, Chris McKelvie, John Mitchell, Kris Newbury, Jordan Owens, Scott Tanski, Kelsey Tessier, Andreas Thuresson, Dale Weise

Jason Wilson the only real surprise. Max Campbell for some reason was not invited to the big camp.

So looks like they are set with forwards and will probably cut 2 or 3 more defensemen.

  8. BTW, Gernander loves Tanski kid.

Wow I am shocked Chris McKelvie made the team, don’t like that at all.

  9. Fogarty 5 points in 4 games
McColgan 3 points in 1 game
Miller 4 points in 3 games
Yogan 3 points in 4 games

Thomas 0 points in 3 games. WTF?

  10. Only three easy questions after Night of Swiss Knives party:
    1. Talbot will become Hank’s backup in November or December?
    2. That’s how our defense will look now (loose, without sour stool)?
    3. Will so called 1st line score 1st goal on Christmas or later?

  11. After todays beating torts announced that staal will miss the first two games. Anyone surprised?
Still not listed on IR, meaning there is still hope it won’t be much longer

  12. iWicky (Leeloo Dallas mul-ti-pass) on

Totally pulled a BANJ on the last thread

    Thanks Orr from last thread

  13. wow I must have caught the only good stretch of the game. we were down 2-0 when I started and I made it through the first period. Sorry everyone I had to do some work today, I am sure it was my fault.

Are we going to play any real NHL teams between now and the start of regular season? These games seem way too slow and definitely reminds me of my no check league. Rangers heads are gonna be spinning when LA comes over there if not.

  14. I am just watching the recording of the game and:

    1. Christensen showed he has no defensive awareness on Holden’s 2nd goal.

    2. Wolski should be on the top line

    3. starting to like Rupp

    4. I would go with Bell over Bickell and Eminger. And with Bickel over Eminger.

    5. I don’t think these games vs European teams will attract more European players to NHL, I think vice versa they will attract more North American bubble players to Europe. Would you rather be a waiver trash in NHL or a star in high flying Swiss league? I think Christensen should just stay in Switzerland.

  15. billybleedsblue on

It’s too bad Colon lost so much velocity… time for another stem cell injection…

  16. Weird comments about Sullivan being on another side of the bench. Were they hinting that Tortorella and Sullivan are not speaking to each other?

  17. guys i actually feel some form of confidence in Burnett for tomorrow. maybe it’s just gas. LOL. i dont want to get into a deep baseball discussion here, but i feel confident. but boy oh boy id rather have Christensen swinging a baseball bat right now rather than AROD or Teixeira.

  18. billybleedsblue on

    Double-plAy-Roids has been invisible…

I hope you’re right about Burnett Lev. If he blows it, I don’t know how the guy will return to New York…

  19. How about Capt. Clutch? He’s a former baseball player (did you guys know he won a Little League World Series?) and he’s not doing anything right now, and he’s a big Yankees fan … and he’s clutch.

  20. billybleedsblue on

Carp, that’s just mean. Let the guy ride off into the sunset, would ya? Lol… he’s too busy tossing pizzas anyways.

  21. LOL Carp. billy, i think that if Burnett throws up a stinker tomorrow, he may very well have pitched his last game in pinstripes. I dont like several things Girardi has done recently, but in the end it’s up to the players. but again, Porcello (Tigers starter tomorrow) is sort of their version of Burnett, and the Yankees have hit him. AJ has no-hit stuff, i just hope he delivers them tomorrow. oh, and I hate Valverde. hate. hate. hate. hate. did i mention i dont like him? hate.

  22. billybleedsblue on

I’m glad we’re not talking baseball here. Valverde is really annoying, I agree. Eh, whattaya gonna do? Score enough runs and ya won’t see him again I guess. I just answered my own rhetorical question. Ok terrific.
