What else would MSG be showing?

Oh, yeah 1994 Trip to the Finals, losers basketball.

  2. “Well, Avery didn’t play Sunday in Bratislava and he’s not in the lineup today in Zug.”

  3. Is there anybody around here that isn’t doing a fantasy hockey league currently that would like to join a beginner(ish) league?

  4. Wicky©the game isn't over until somebody cries!! on

    jbytes
re defence from last thread, you are 100% correct

  5. Words to the Swiss fans song

We love this team! We love this sport! We actually came to watch the game instead of spending entire game texting on our smart phones! Hey MSG fans, take note and learn from us! OY OY OY!

  6. Thanks for the link Greecian. I dont care what language it is in, I have to mute it at work anyway

  7. Doodie Machetto on

Orr, I disagree. That was a good excuse to start the tour, but since then, they haven’t changed time zones more than they would in your average road trip. By now, there shouldn’t be any lag.

  8. Then I’ll take your word for it, Doodie. I don’t travel much, so what do I know!

“With the 1st overall selection in the 2012 NHL entry draft, the New York Rangers are proud to select, from the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League, Nail Yakupov!

    Captain Callaman! 2-1!

  9. I was wondering how this preseason will affect the Rangers since nobody has been body checked for a week or so.

  10. With Richards on the point, get used to that.

    ——————-

yeah, we should’ve gotten Kovalchuk instead.

  11. Doodie Machetto on

Anisimov showing how good he would be outside of the NHL. Without anyone putting a body on him, his skill can really shine. Now if only it didn’t take a feather to knock him off the puck.

  12. LOL ORR!!! I thought the same thing when i looked at Rupp!! I was gonna type that he looks like Rozi but then we scored and i typed somethign else lol

Is it me, or is it that Artem Anisimov is very capable of preseason scoring (and dazzling) but not that much regular season action? I believe last year he scored a sick goal against the bruins that was almost Jagr like..

    Nope– two years ago.

  14. Doodie Machetto on

4generations, it’s because he is very weak on the puck. Less contact in preseason allows him to display his skills without being outmuscled.

  15. 4generations 4 cups on

are you seriously that far ahead of me where i havent even seen the 4-3 goal? yes you are. i just saw it.

  16. 4generations 4 cups on

Their goal celebration song sounds like Seven Nation Army. IF it is that song, Zug’s season is 100% over.

  17. I can’t stand that guy from the Jets commercial. He used to fill in for Sam when he did Football. One of the worst play by play guys ever. He does WNBA, I think. He was the one who sadly called Jagr’s 600th goal!

  18. 4generations 4 cups on

LOL LEELOO DALLAS MOOL-TEE-PASS! I cant deal with that, thats so funny man hahahaha.

  19. Doodie Machetto on

I like what I’ve seen from Bell during the preseason. I’d rather he play than Eminger.

  20. 4generations 4 cups on

ich sprechen ein klein betrag auf deutsch :) blick auf dieses! scheiß torwart!

  21. stu bickel cannot play. zero offensive skills and he can’t move great either. bell smaller but is a better option by far….

did not see the latest goal… 7th goal… not a defensive blueprint today..

  22. a statue moves better than Biron. the pigeons have really dropped their load on him today.

  23. Doodie Machetto on

I’m actually pretty happy this is happening. They seemed to be getting lazy. Torts can really lay into them after this, and hopefully they come out fired up for game 1.

  24. Hasn’t this game just filled you with so much confidence? And how potent Gaborik has looked?

Is Biron trying to make a statement?

And is that a smile, a smirk or a look like “Did I get off at the right street?” by Tortorella?

  25. Doodie Machetto on

I think it is partly an excuse on some of the blown backchecking assignments. Not an excuse to get a 7 spot hung on you, but definitely part of the reason.

  26. is this normal to change a winger every other shift?? geez… and here we are arguing who will play on the left with Gaby and BRich… EVERYONE WILL PLAY THERE! LOL

  27. If this is any indication of the team we have now (not sure that it is), the Rangers are surely going to struggle this season…

  28. 4generations 4 cups on

Gaborik really has been invisible. Im hoping this is simply because the surface is larger..

  29. Doodie Machetto on

Orr, what are your nick-names for the other new faces, i.e., Rupp, Bell, and Bickel?

  30. They’re playing keep away in the the offensive zone. This is really frustrating to watch.

  31. So they lose one preseason game and the seasons over? Yikes guys, lets scale back the doom and gloom. You do remember they played yesterday and have traveled non stop for the last 48 hours…give them a break….

  32. right now the Zug announcer, Al Michaelsbrunner, is saying, “do you believe in miracles?”

  33. Olga Folkyerself on

Please, stop with the multi-countries travel excuse. They move farther and play more games on a west coast swing. European countries are not that far apart…

  34. Doodie Machetto on

Ugh, was hoping EC would make the team over Avery so all of the “Avery on the first line” nonsense would end.

  35. OMG!! I’m not watching this and it sounds horrible but relax!! Geez it’s October 3rd!! They are allowed a clunker now and again and the last time I checked no NHL team has EVER won every game they played in. Preseason or regular. No Sauer (I think) no Staal, things will get better…now everyone climb in off the ledge and have a drink!

  36. >>Shouldn’t Gaborik be used to the larger ice surface?

For a “speedy” and “skilled” guy, he sure was a non factor [AGAIN] on the larger ice.

  37. >>Dublowsky has had an average camp….and that’s being generous…

Frankly, the same could be said about any of the players on that team – with the exception of MZA.

  38. >>…And how potent Gaborik has looked?

“He’s trying to find his game”. Oh, and, he needs a left winger to get him going.

  39. It really doesn’t matter how a team looks in preseason since it rarely ever translates into the regular season.

That said losing 8-4 (even when you’re just going through the motions) is unacceptable…
