Versus (soon to be NBC Sports Network) has set their announcing teams for the year. Great news – No Joe Beninati! Here is what Michael Hiestrand wrote in USA Today. I am guessing that the Wednesday announcers will be the main NBC announcers.
Versus will announce today, spokesman Meier Raivich says, that its NHL coverage will have regular announcer pairings and game assignments this season. Those assignments for Versus, which will be renamed the NBC Sports Network in January: Dave Strader and Brian Engblom call games on Sundays and Tuesdays; Mike Emrick and Pierre McGuire on Mondays; and Emrick, McGuire and Eddie Olczyk, NBC’s announcing trio, on Wednesdays.

Money got paid $30+ million for the fight, he could have potentially bought his way out of trouble, BUT he probably would have been arrested, so Im glad he showed such remarkable restraint.

As far as younger guys getting a chance to play- last year proved that when injuries run a muck these kids actually are depended on up with the big club. Until then i’ll look at having a log jam on the first 3 lines as a good thing. Let their efforts and production determine who gets what minutes where.
Unless Dallas is going to the central, it’s always going to look like one of the teams that just doesn’t fit geographically within their division. I suppose you could move Dallas to the central, Nashville to the SE and Colorado to the Pacific. Giving you a West of:
Central: Detroit/Chicago/StL/Columbus/Dallas
NW: Riot City/Calgary/Edmonton/Winnipeg/Minny

He did a fantastic acting job in a movie that was totally not one that you would expect to see DeNiro in – the movie was “Awakenings” with Robin Williams, and it was adapted from a true story. It was a very touching movie, and both lead actors did a wonderful job in it.
