2005 Nissan Altima for almost 12 grand?? i bought one like that last year for $300 on the street! lol Though, i had to spend close to a grand to fix it up! my little nephew is driving it right now.

  2. beth!

LW, I think we need to re-define, or correct the definition of “carping” or being “carped.”

The last comment before the *new post* warning is the one that is carped. any comment after the warning is at your own risk and the management of RR is not responsible.

by the way, who was it that famously went on and on and on after a *new post* warning? was it bull dog? or jpg? i can’t remember. but once we figure it out, that should be a new term.

  3. Hockey! Kinda! Finally! YAY!

I’ve got two kickball games tonight, then I’m gonna rush home to watch the Sabres game.

  4. Versus (soon to be NBC Sports Network) has set their announcing teams for the year. Great news – No Joe Beninati! Here is what Michael Hiestrand wrote in USA Today. I am guessing that the Wednesday announcers will be the main NBC announcers.

Versus will announce today, spokesman Meier Raivich says, that its NHL coverage will have regular announcer pairings and game assignments this season. Those assignments for Versus, which will be renamed the NBC Sports Network in January: Dave Strader and Brian Engblom call games on Sundays and Tuesdays; Mike Emrick and Pierre McGuire on Mondays; and Emrick, McGuire and Eddie Olczyk, NBC’s announcing trio, on Wednesdays.

  5. Orr,

I’d imagine the teams pick opponents that are geographically close. Which is why I think Nashville should move to the SE conference during re-alignment next year. Move NSH to the SE and Winnipeg to the NW and then move Minny to Central.

  6. But, two games, CT? As if one wasn’t enough!! I’d rather see two Leafs/Sens games. Unless rats crawl all over Florida’s ice, and everyone starts whacking them with their sticks. That could be better than hockey.

    No Beninati! Weeeee!

I’d much rather have more Emrick. A true Emmy winning professional!

  7. I assume they’re split squad games. When you’ve got like 45 guys in camp you gotta get them all on the ice somehow.

  8. NYDNRangers Cam Talbot’s glove save on J.T. Miller with 5.1 seconds left preseves 2-1 win for Blue.

Unbelievable! Should have drafted McNeil! Hell, should have just traded the pick for Mcnuggets! Anything is better than the kid with the 70’s hair!

  9. No more bum nonprofessional Emrick during Devils-Rangers MSG games! Weeeee! Id rather have neither Emmy winner, Beninati or Emrick! :)

  10. I think so too. Never heard of split-squad hockey games before today, but maybe Ive been behind the times. :)

Laurel’s first day at the NY Post is today!!! Go Laurel!

  11. Its only freelance, but still cool. She’s going back to her days of reporting. We’ve gotta post links to all of her stories on here! Laurel!

  12. Laurel’s first day at NYP? nice! Knowning her and “yachna” that she is…let’s hope she won’t get involved in the murdoch hacking scandal :P

  13. Thnx, CCCP. Not a bad deal, altho it means I have to listen to that light bulb head, Pierre!! Can’t stand his commentary

  14. MLB Network is the best network ever invented (if you like baseball). Also it does an AMAZING job covering it’s sport even if you aren’t a baseball fan.

  15. Did anyone see Money Mayweather tell off that piece of trash Larry Merchant after Saturday’s fight?! And then the senile Merchant (80 years old) telling Money if he was 50 years younger, he’d kick Money’s ass! I hope HBO fires his aasen!

  16. I can’t really figure out if Mayweather’s hits were dirty. I know they were quick, on target and devastating but in his defense…he had been head-butted and no one had called time.

  17. It was a cheap shot, but they were legal shots. That guy should have gotten his act together after the first shot, but he continued to look confused, then got knocked out.

Guy’s a dope and Mayweather is a racist wuss who’s scared of Paquiao.

LOL! Luongo is on the Legends team also. Lame!

  18. I cant figure it out either, Manny. But the referee allowed it and that’s all that counts. Merchant acted like such an aasen, he deserved to get told off. Personally, when Merchant puts his hand on Money’s shoulder as Money is walking away, I would have turned back around and jacked Merchant’s 80 y.o. face! Money got paid $30+ million for the fight, he could have potentially bought his way out of trouble, BUT he probably would have been arrested, so Im glad he showed such remarkable restraint.

  19. Carp,
I don’t think it was me.
    Orr,
believe or not if a player is a Ranger, I root for them in a fight.

  20. anyone else really concerned that marc staal will be gone for awhile. him not skating today is not a good sign after post scrimmages

  21. A lil chemistry for the “first line” this weekend or so I hear. What’s this quest for more D I’m hearing? I guess Eminger, Del Z and Erixon isn’t a good enough platoon for the 3rd pair?

As far as younger guys getting a chance to play- last year proved that when injuries run a muck these kids actually are depended on up with the big club. Until then i’ll look at having a log jam on the first 3 lines as a good thing. Let their efforts and production determine who gets what minutes where.

  22. Unless Dallas is going to the central, it’s always going to look like one of the teams that just doesn’t fit geographically within their division. I suppose you could move Dallas to the central, Nashville to the SE and Colorado to the Pacific. Giving you a West of:

    Central: Detroit/Chicago/StL/Columbus/Dallas
    NW: Riot City/Calgary/Edmonton/Winnipeg/Minny
    Pacific: SJ/LA/Anaheim/Colorado/Phoenix

The Atlantic and NE in the East stay the same. The SE becomes: TB/Florida/Carolina/Washington/Nashville

  23. Hi everyone. So happy that hockey is almost back! Rangers will be in town on Wednesday night. Can’t wait to go!!
    Good luck Laurel!

  24. Wicky(grating PIBG)© (The she/it on our D is sofa king SOFT!!!) on

    morning ILB and all!!

btw, I feel as though the term BANJ’d should be now used here for someone who continues to post long after “new post” has been implemented. I have BANJ’d a few times the past week or so!

  25. Damn! Every time I play a game in NHL12, in my mind, I say “this game sucks”

I just can’t seem to enjoy playing this game. NHL10 was sooo much better. The goals in this game are beyond fake. The AI uses the same move to score. I can’t believe how bad this game is compared to NHL10.

    EA sucks!

  26. Wicky(grating PIBG)© (The she/it on our D is sofa king SOFT!!!) on

    cccp
ummm, thanks for the link (not really). If he thinks he was booed before by pens fans, just wait…

    Grabby
    waiting on you bro!

  27. Wicky(grating PIBG)© (The she/it on our D is sofa king SOFT!!!) on

    orr
do you really think it is that bad??

I actually like it better than the previous ones.

  28. Wicky(grating PIBG)© (The she/it on our D is sofa king SOFT!!!) on

anyone have any idea if the rangers preseason games will be available online or with an online replay??

I have to work and optimum doesn’t have MSG out here (assens)

  29. So give up some potential quality for Doughty: Dubinsky and Del Zotto. And some filler, like cash or Avery.

  30. wicky, if you want the Rangers games from the preseason on DVD, Ill send them to you. Or Ill send them to ilb who can send them to you.

  31. Tiki,

It’s pretty cool that you tape everything. I doubt I’ll ever want/need a copy, but, it’s neat, so thanks in advance for your kindness!

  32. Is Laurel role in NYPost to be a buffer- mediator between Brooksie and Torts? Congrats in any case! Glad for her immensely; hope she could hang there later as a paid reporter.

  33. ORR,

I can’t remember exactly what the scenario was, but one time in NHL10, I attempted back to back deals with Colorado; the first deal I offered them Redden and got Stastny and two picks in return. Then, I turn around and offer them Avery and prospects for a 6th rounder or something, and they said no!

  34. Thanks Latona. Do you want any 1994 Rangers regular season games or their 1st 2 rounds of the playoffs against the Islanders and Capitals (the 2 series not in the Amazon set)?

I’ve sent those to quite a few boneheads and they’ve been very happy. Im making the 86 and 90 Giants for another bonehead now!

  35. My mistake guys. Laurel doesnt do any writing for the NY Post. She’s a runner, she goes to the scene of news stories and calls in quotes and calls in stories. Today, she covered a water main break. Story should be on NY Post website tomorrow, it may or may not have her name attached to it, but she didn’t do any writing.

  36. Oy vey…..Good evening all. I am too tired to even exclaim….yes, that’s my new life. Kinda. A little bit. Hooray for hockey…now, to quote Greg….zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I’ll catch up tomorrow.

  37. Whee!! Pre-season hockey on NHL Network – thanks for posting the schedule, Carp!!

I just got home – gotta tune in!

  38. Laurel is working for the NY Post now!? She’s working for my old boss!? *COOL!!!* Congrats, Laurel!

  39. Oh, a fake account! I didn’t check it out, but I wouldn’t know a real account from a bogus one – how can you tell!? (I’m Twitter-illiterate)

  40. At the end of the preseason, Ill ship out all the NYR games to you. Ive still got your address somewhere.

  41. Let’s not use the word “rape” in that context. Rape is a very serious thing for a lot of women. Nothing to make light of. Be a good boy, Orr.

  42. Im so proud of you Laurel. You are an amazing woman. Now, I finally have a journalist/reporter, one that values integrity, to read! :)

  43. Having said all that, I sure wouldn’t mind seeing Doughty in the Red, White & Blue for the Rangers…..

  44. Jimbo, mailed you back! And please remember, what gets shared among RR friends stays among RR friends :)

Hatnell, I wicky’d….and P.S. Wicky, Fozzy agreed with me this weekend…a wicky is a wicky!

  45. “You’ll get nothing and like it.” (Caddyshack)

LOL…..Thanks Jimbo….oh help me, why am I still awake. wicky!!!!!

  46. That is a *very* high price-tag, ORR – don’t know if I’d do that deal…..

Death!? That’s a little extreme! No ice cream is worth that!

  47. “Go to sleep, go to sleep, lala la lala la la….” (Sorry, I don’t remember the words, Mama!)

  48. Lampanelli!? She has a filthy mouth – but man, she’s funny!

Hmmm……I’m wondering where the apple will go…..? ;-D

  49. Thought I’d share something with you all…. the Blues marketing campaign this season is… Don’t Stop Believing. With the actual Journey song and everything! I nearly spit out my beer when I saw it earlier tonight.

  50. I’m not too crazy about DeNiro in comedies, although he does have good comedic skills. I guess I like his “typecast” roles as mean gangsters.

He did a *fantastic* acting job in a movie that was totally not one that you would expect to see DeNiro in – the movie was “Awakenings” with Robin Williams, and it was adapted from a true story. It was a very touching movie, and both lead actors did a wonderful job in it.

  51. Wicky(grating PIBG)© (The she/it on our D is sofa king SOFT!!!) on

I always thought Ronin was really really good.

    Mama
I’m sure fozzy was coerced, a laurel is a laurel and will always be a laurel!!

  52. Not the best for me, but definitely a classic.

That scene where they rob the bank is one of the best scenes ever! When I was a kid, and I saw that movie, I wanted to get a pony tail, and rob a bank, just like Val Kilmer.

My dad set me straight and told me that it was wrong, and not something I should ever do. He also told me not to rob a bank.
