Yep, a hockey fan’s worst month is in its seventh day already. I’m not too thrilled that the summer’s going by so quickly, especially since last winter seemed to last four or five years.
On the other hand, we’re getting closer and closer to puck-drop(s).
Starting to wonder what kind of venue issues there might be holding up the official announcements of the Winter Classic.

Avery is in his last season as a Ranger. if he is in the way of a young player, than he has to go. if not he stays, and plays the role of 4th line pest and sits in the press box sometimes.
Richards, Gabby, Boyle, AA, Stepan, Prust, Dubi, Cally, Rupp, Wolski, Fedotenko, Christensen, and Avery. that is 13 forwards. not sure I see room for a rookie or 2 this season.
Interesting article (a hockey piece on ESPN quoting advanced stats?) and a million miles better than that thing on Puck Daddy last week, but I still don’t understand the shared premise that the Rangers are (or should be) loading up during a three-year window for success with the inevitability that they will be reduced to garbage after that three years.

I think it’s more a matter of the uncertainties progressively starting to mount, LW.
7 UFA + 2 RFA’s after this year: Prust, Wolski, Avery, Feds, EC, Eminger, Biron as well RFA’s MZA and MDZ
The following year, 4 probably key/core RFA’s : AA, Step, McD and Sauer
Then after the 13/14 season Gabby, Cally, Boyle, Rupp, Girardi and LQ become UFA’s
So, how effectively some of those players are replaced, how cost efficiently others are resigned and to what degree lower priced prospects step in will have a lot to do with ongoing success.

bull dog, I want a balanced team…EC just doesn’t bring enough to table to justify a line up spot, IMO. I guess if the season started now, here are my lines:

Dubi-Artie-Cally
Feds-Flavah-Rupp
Zuccarella-Weise-Prust spare: Woof or Avery (if he’s not banished to Europe)
I am not high on Wolski. It would be nice if he come out and plays like a first line LW, I just don’t see it happening (woof). Talent is there; head is not in the game. I have a feeling he’s going to be gone sooner or later…I’d like to see Stepan and MZA alternate ice time on the top LW spot…I think you need to balance their minutes, not sure either can handle 1st line minutes all season. I could also see Rupp and Prust alternating responsibilities….on the 3rd & 4th lines…

I understand that, but outside of some small-market / tanking / long-term rebuilding franchises (delete as appropriate), which teams don’t have a selection of key players scheduled to hit free agency at some point within three years?
If any of those players are still young and productive enough over that period, the Rangers would at least attempt to re-sign them.
I wouldn’t pretend the Rangers’ long-term outlook is a sure thing by any stretch, but the current team and solid group of prospects is young enough that I don’t think portraying them as a veteran-laden team that has a shot in the next three years but absolutely no shot beyond that makes sense.
But maybe I’m just scared of Sather and Dolan believing the hype and reverting to their previous destructive short-termism…

One Pittsburgh Penguins fan has learned there really is no need to cry over spilled beer.Mike Rupp, a forward for the Penguins, hit the rink’s boards during warmups at a recent game, accidentally knocking over a fan’s beer on the other side. But rather than ignoring the trouble he caused, the NHL player apologized to the fan with a puck and some cash.
“Mike felt terrible about it, so he asked the trainer to grab $10 out of Rupp’s wallet,” Rupp’s agent Allan Walsh told the Toronto Sun.
“He then wrote an apology on a puck, signed it and taped the $10 bill around it. He went over to the glass, got the guy’s attention and tossed the puck over to him.”

LW- I hear what you’re are saying, but I don’t read it as the “the window slams shut” just because the next few years may provide a better than normal shot at winning.
I’ll add that if you believe you are ‘that close’, at some point a move that could sacrifice some ‘future’ for some ‘now’ might be made. It wouldn’t necessarily mean a “reverting to their previous destructive short-termism” per se. It would hopefully be a move that puts you over the top.
However, getting it right could be the difference between success or failure both short term and long. That’s why I think patience is key.
We’re probably getting a little ahead of ourselves anyway ..let’s make the playoffs 2 years in a row first. Lot’s of hard work yet to be done.

He was drafted ninth overall. He’s still pretty young, but he’s played three seasons, and put up crap numbers. Talk aboot a bust! Only 23 though. Maybe the proverbial change of scenery will do the trick.
Actually, Boyle is somewhat similar. Sheppard played aboot 30+ more games than Boyle, and Boyle just had a breakout year. So, maybe it’s unfair to give up on him just yet.
But, then that would mean maybe it’s too soon to give up on Jessiman!!! Ruh roh!

wolski is not going to be a 3 million 4th line player. he is going to have to play on the top 2 lines, or not be there at all. since they did not buy him out, my guess is there looking to put him on one of the top 2 lines to find out about him. unless they whale Avery, Christensen, and Wolski, I still do not see room for a rookie forward this season. MZA, is probably still going to be on the outside looking in.

Muse Breaks is a rmx to a track by J.Views and somewhat not a typical Mushroom. Psycho is from their first studio album back in 1999 and has a dark sound. If you like Deeply Disturbed the best, then you should like that whole album. It has two sides. Innovative trance sound side and more mellow side, with some trippy sounds! The album is called “Converting Vegetarians” IMHO, their last true PsyTrance album. After that, they became a full band and have more of a electronic rock sound with psytrance roots.

I can only take so much of the throbbing 150 beats per min in the first 2 songs though, especially when you’re talking about a 10 minute song.
Even in the songs I like, with all the variations they have throughout a 10 minute song it’s like multiple songs in one.
