… since former almost-Ranger Joe Sakic made this hole-in-one for a$1 million prize.
So, Saturday we’re at the family golf outing. We’re honoring the memory my late uncle who, in the 22 years of our family outing, was the only person to ever get a hole in one. And on Saturday, the day we’re honoring him, his daughter made a hole in one. How about that?
I played in another outing a few years ago to benefit my sister’s kids’ school. Well, she wins a raffle to take one shot on a par-3 and a chance to win $1 million with a hole in one.
So I carried my sister’s clubs up to the tee box and everybody who was in the outing came out of the clubhouse and surrounded the green so it looked like a PGA Tour event. And my sister knocked it in … to the parking lot.
I’ve actually only seen one hole in one in my life. That was by Rob Astorino, who is now the Westchester County executive. He made it at a media day for the tournament the PGA used to host at Westchester Country Club. He won some golf balls. Whoopee.
And, since we’re talking other sports—to the chagrin of a few people who want to discuss next season’s lines every minute of the entire summer—here’s a tie-in between the women’s World Cup soccer and your NHL.
Really? They really decide the World Cup on penalty kicks? Really? Idiots.
