Happy Friday!

In other words, I got nothin’ today. Hope to have some post-Game 3 quotes from Boston-Tampa Bay this morning, and maybe some Sharks-Canucks morning-skate stuff later.

As for me, I make my season debut as Joe Baseball. Going to Game 1 of the Subway Series in the Bronx. Planning for worst-case scenario, long rain-delay(s), extra-innings, you know … which will take us right into May 21, which is supposed to be the end of the world or something.

My lawnmower broke yesterday. So I have to make this decision. Do I buy a new one, even though the world could end Saturday? I mean, isn’t that a waste of money? On the other hand, what good is saving your money if it’s the end of the world? Right? I mean, since we were kids we heard you can’t take it with you. It’s not like he who has the most when it’s over wins.

  1. And This One Will Last A Lifetime on

I keep hearing different dates for the end of the world…tomorrow…December 21st, 2012…
    11/11/11….12/12/12….My advice…buy the new mower

  2. Carp – I would wait till Sunday to buy the mower – instead, make at date with Mr. T for Saturday – could be the last time you hit the links

Carp, sounds like you have a Sears mower (the gaborik of mowers)

  4. LOL! Hire the most expensive Lawn Care specialists. Why are you cutting your own grass if the world is going to end. Live it up!

  5. Good morning, ‘heads!

What time is this thing tomorrow? Before or after the game?

My suggestion, Carp- screw the lawn! Isn’t it what you wanted to do for years anyway? Now you have an excuse….And I’d definitely take a few bucks with me. With the current economy, you never know….I wouldn’t be so sure the coffee is still free up there

  6. you and me both Carp!
I moved to a new place and with my petrol Mountfield mower it took 4 hours to cut the lot, so time for a ride-on i think.
    Any recommendations anyone?

Bored! 5 weeks till draft day and 6 till National Glen Sather day. Has Brad Richards bought a Manhatten apartment yet?

October 21, 2011: End of the word after 6 Months of pestilence and war post-rapture.

December 21, 2012: End of the world according to some due to the end of the Mayan Calendar.

Part of me hopes that the world does end… I’m exhausted and need the rest….

Carp – I could send over my Gardner and his team… They do beautiful work….and only 3 bills a month…

  10. This guy in my office is a Bruins fan and his sentence was, “Man those Canucks are gonna be tough!”

    Way to look ahead buddy.

  11. Manny – If Thomas continues to play like he did last night, he’s only being logical. Fact of the matter is, the Bruins have a Vezina candidate in net(possibly the odds-on favorite) and the Lightning have a 41-year-old backup retread they plucked from the Iceholes for a draft pick. If Bergeron stays healthy, the Lightning simply don’t stand a chance. They’re kind of in the same boat with the Sharks. When you have teams that are as well-meshed as the Bruins and the Canucks are, top-flight goaltending is an absolute must.

  12. Luongo isn’t that great. He’s as overrated as they come, IMO. He happens to have some of the best defensemen in the league playing in front of him. Just sayin’

This is a hybrid. This is a cross, ah, of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensimilla. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff.

  14. It sucks that there is a hockey life without Rangers. From other hand…it’s like sex without love. Isn’t it?

  15. Mister Delaware on

Carp: Making my first trip of the year to the Bronx tonight too. Look for me, brown haired guy wearing a Yankees hat.

  16. Carp, buy the mower. I asked my Magic 8 Ball if the world was ending tomorrow night and it said, “Sorry No.”

Even more exciting, I asked it if the Bruins would make it to the Stanley Cup Finals and it said “Rely On It”….but it told me to “Ask Again Later” when I queried if they would win the Cup.

  17. It was nice knowing you. Well, it was nice knowing some of you.

And the rest of you, sinners… i will see you all in hell! :P

  18. Manny – Agreed. But if I were a betting man, I’d put all my chips on there being a Bruins-Canucks final. I think at this point, the cup is Vancouver’s to lose.

NYR_FAN – I tend to agree on Luongo. But when compared to that rebound machine sometimes referred to as Neimi, he’s the better of the two, and that’s all that counts.

Carp – Brigs and Stratton push mower with a mulcher for $200 at Sears. Good mower that’s cheap and you get a bit of exercise too.

  19. Oh so Carp… you think you’ll be one of the chosen ones to meet The Christ? Don’t count on it!

    Get the mower!
