Oh crap, yet another hit on what used to be the joy of being a sports fan. Today, sports fans have to deal with being inundated with off the field garbage as regards contract disputes, strikes, lock-outs, drugs and alcohol abuse, spousal/girl friend abuse, racism, D.U.I tickets, violent criminal behavior and now, of course, the inverted sexual orientation of some of these publicity-starved ego-maniacs who are using the world of sports as a prop for their real social, political and business agenda.
What the hell are any of us supposed to do about the pathetic sexual-orientation story revolving around the owner of the Phoenix Suns – ruminate about it, feel joyful about his “coming out,” gleefully tell our children and grand children how wonderful it all is that they now have options beyond the bigoted, “homophobic” falling in love with a member of the opposite sex, getting married and having a family trap so many generations, before now, have had to suffer about?
Let me, for the record, be the FIRST person in the history of the western hemisphere to announce in public that my sexual orientation is HETEROSEXUAL, for all the shock and scandal that engenders. I mean, why should the only people pushing their sexual agenda on the rest of us be homosexual? Can’t we heteros have our own coming out party? Not to diminish Boog at all, but his time here, literally given his injury, was very short, and fans here have a very different relationship with him than the Wild folks. I am in awe of how they responded…..

Mama, you are absolutely right. What a terrific job by two young women. They took initiative and held a beautiful ceremony for somebody that touched their lives. They didn’t do it for the cameras, they didn’t even know they were going to be allowed to use the stadium, but they went ahead and did it anyway. They would’ve been just as happy with a few other fans paying tribute on the street, but they made it happen.

Skimming through the posts, I say Mao has the lead. And I even planned a RESTAURANT LUNCH WITH MY MOTHER FOR THIS DAY. She’s having surgery in the morning, so I told her I’d take her out to eat. My ulterior motive was, of course, to claim victory on day one.
I had a delicious open face sliced steak sandwich, medium rare, with buttered garlic bread and plenty of au jus. The side included a delicious helping of vegetables and also some Freedom fries. As an appetizer, I had house special cream of chicken soup. And for dessert I had a small bowl of strawberry ice cream. DAMNIT MAO!

Apologies for my recent abscence, but I was having major laptop issues and it needed to go in for repairs (ie get the 23423 viruses off it. Somehow my antivirus got a virus). But, after getting it fixed (I hope) and triple checking everything over the weekend, I’m back in business.
Finally catching up on all the stories/posts/blogs about Boogey and it’s still shocking. Reading what those kids in Minny did for the memorial, I’m glad someone did something like and I can only imagine how touched the family was.
For actual hockey, the Sharks/Canucks game was really good last night. And Tampa just stunned Boston. These are gonna be 2 really good series.
Right now, it’s looking like it’s going to be the Lightning and Canucks. Maybe if the Bruins get back Bergeron next game, they can win the series.
